TheBenzoEnzo, I have a 3ware 9690SA-8i with 2x Corsair F120 Raid 0. My benchs is much much slower than your HBA Rocket Raid 2720, but I don't know if I could change my controller to other like LSI 9260 or Areca 1880...my bench is much slower than your but my real aplications appears very fast. My controller only can do ~1200mb/s seq read and 1200mb/s seq write (just cache speed on file system bench SISSandra 100mb) and 1gb/s read and write CDM 3.0. What do you think?
@yapchagi Yeah 2x C300 is super fast also. I have tried it. But you will need a sata 3 controller for max speed. Im using an slot in card, RocketRaid 2720. Im using it in a PCI Express 2.0 x16, so the bandwidth should not be a problem, i tink the card can handle 2000 mb/s
With tweaking and everyting turned off i can reach around 1500-1600 mb/s so degradation is not a problem. I cant reach those speeds with the onboard sata 3 controller. Speed/IOPS is alot slower.
@TheBenzoEnzo I thought intel ICH10 SATA II controller is actually better than SATA III controller. It only appears faster in benchmarks, but not in real world loading time.
I tried the RealSSD C300 in both SATA III and SATA II ICH10 controllers, while in benchmarks the SATA III wins by reaching 300ish mb/s for read, and only 280ish read in SATA II ICH10.
But for loading applications such as games, it's a lot faster in SATA II ICH10 controller.
hey how long is boot initialization of the card itself?

@ImComputurd not long, maybe 2-3 sec.

Wow if the performance will not degrade in RAID 0, I might as well do that.
2x RealSSD C300 should be fast enough for me.
I wonder if RAID 0 in SATA II and RAID 0 in SATA III will have a different result in degradation maybe.
At least I know u're using SATA III.
