  • Probibly one of the best adverts ever !! But a lesson to advertisers, it was so good people just dont remember the "Allied Dunbar" bit at the end!! They think its more a Boots pregnancy test kit add or something for condoms!!

Dear Colin Bennett, not only was he the caretaker for Tony Hart,, he also stared in the famous Yellow Pages - Hornby R186 Signal Box add!!

  • I have so many fond memories of this advert...love it!!

  • It's Mr Bennett!

  • This is my all time favourite ad! - although I couldn't remember what it was advertising. So glad I've found it.

  • is that an actual song or just a jingle for the advert?? if so who did it?

  • The most famous version of the original song is by Nat "King" Cole, although I think this is a soundalike.

  • i remember this advert lol

  • Who's version of the song - ie who is the singer - is being played in the background?

  • It's Nat King Cole, mate

  • Memories! :o)

  • I remember these well. I have them all on tape when "Classic Trains" on Channel4 was on!

    "Lets the music and dance!"

  • I have found the Grim Reaper advert. It is on the Channel 4 1997 averts, from silkwood88.

  • I remember this one. Haven't seen it for yonks. I wanted the one with the gents toilet if anyone remembers that version.

  • i have been after the grim reaper on a train advert for years, in fact ever since i got the internet and cant find it, it scared the crap outta me as a kid and i need to see it!!! if anyone has any clues as where to find it please let me know!!!

  • Where is the Grim Reaper train advert? That one is a classic.

  • Excellent....I've been looking for this for years as my wife is in it (Zoe). She lost her copy so I haven't seen it since it was on TV.

She's the one in the stripey top!

  • Glad to be of service.;) It's good to see the one set in an operating theatre is up here too. Now all we need is the ad with that bloke on a train meeting the Grim Reaper and we've pretty much got the set.:)

  • This comment is for fiveofseven. The Grim Reaper Advert is on You Tube, called Channel 4Adverts 1997, from silkwood88.

  • Hurrah!
