  • You cant help but fall in love when listening to this song.

  • One of my favorite songs. I wish my children would take a moment and listen to the real music that touches the soul. I say this as my son listens to his head banging music. I feel sad:(

  • NIPSEY HUSSLE !!

  • R&B Music will always be around, today the music is corrupting the minds of the youth because music has a message of selling sex or how many women you can get, not songs about love and being together. Its all about the message and these records companies know that, its actually some pyschological stuff going on just something to make you say hmmmmmm!

  • real music!

  • Stills sounds great after decades!

  • Real music funny how time flies...

Now that is Deep FOREVER Love I LOVE!

  • Comment removed

  • Great song when you are making love to her!

  • JOE BUDDEN GOT ME HERE!

  • Nine - 4 Chicken Wings And Rice

  • Gotta be thankful for this tune and the tunes it inspired and sampled it. Mainly in hip hop!

  • UNSUNG!!!!!

  • ''I see so much in you,and i want a better view'' classic. it's over people.if you're not 38 and older you probably would'nt know what i mean. after the mid 90's there is no more old school.in 50,60,70, years from today you still can't say the 2000's was old school.it just does not have the quality artist, voices, beats, meaning, love, soul as the 60's-90's. slow jams today are like dinosaurs, their extinct.great music, true friends, good times,respect,love,ect.. no longer exist today.

  • @str8outtatexas1 heyy im 21 and all I listen to is old school, 90s and below.. this new crap is a joke. even the "artists" with seniority come back out sounding like they just started again. everyone on the radio has sold out.

  • @str8outtatexas1 I couldn't have said it any better. Thanks for spelling it out to these young folks that think that what they're listening to is music. Not only do they don't know what good music is, they don't have no respect for anybody especially for themselves. No respect for live, love or common sense.

  • @str8outtatexas1 i sooooo agree...and it kind'a makes you feel sad doesn't it???

  • Awww Suki suki now!!!! Taking me back to my childhood!

  • this universe will pass babe...that's how long ...thats just how strong..i'll be loving you baaaabea... it cant get any better than that..timeless~

  • EVERY ONE IS SAYING R.I.P NATE DOGG BUT WARRNE G WAS THE ONE WHO PRODUCED NO BODY DOES IT BETTER. BUT THEY DID COME CLEAN ON THAT COLLABO

  • CLASSIC!!!

  • I love this song because it takes me back to the old days when music was music

  • LOVE U NATE DOGG...UR LEGACY WILL LIVE FOREVER IN MY HEART....BE HAPPY CAUSE ALL DAWGS GO TO "HEAVEN...!!!!!" R.I.P..AMEN.

  • 6 idiots huh

  • R.I.P Nate Dogg!!!!!

Nate Dogg - "Nobody Does It Better"

  • @DTRuck91 What in the hell does Nate Dogg have to do with this beautiful song??????? Not a damn thing. I feel bad the man has passed but Nate would not have done it better. All the music from the 70's and the 80's had feeling and sentiment, not this crap they call music now and days.

  • freakin awesome

  • TRULY TIMELESS!!!

  • i LOVE when towards the end he says "I just see so much in you". It's so powerful ugh gives me chills

  • Totally involved

  • I am a grown ass woman who is a fan of AS and I had no idea they sung this, gorgeous song.

  • its nothing wrong with sampling. we dont criticize when a musician uses a note thats been used for centuries so why criticize when a producer uses an element from a song to create a new song. Its like recycling almost. do you think all gold is new gold or all cities are new cities people used what was there and built on top of it to meet their needs. just cuz you dont like it doesnt mean its not a valid art form. Also people still make compositions, turn off your radios and you will hear them.

  • LOL I can only guess that after people get enough of the crap that is passing for music these days, there will be a great demand for real quality music. Then the music will come back. This kind of music really made us feel. It touched our hearts and minds. Today's music is audio porn that's embarrassing.

  • @KuttyJoe A.M.E.N

  • @KuttyJoe Amen to that. It can't happen soon enough, cause I'm tired of that shit they're trying to pass as music on the radio.

  • @KuttyJoe its not good enough to call crap ive had bathroom trips better than todays music

  • @KuttyJoe I totally agree with you. And on top of that they can't even sing live, they lipsing in their concerts or anywhere they have appearances.

  • @KuttyJoe Nuff said!

  • Now THIS is REAL music!! Unfortunately today's "musicians" just doesn't measure up to the Oldies but goodies... and oh so sensual and soulful music.

"Let's Get Closer".... Atlantic Starr is timeless perfection!!

  • one of my favs, old music is the best and im only 20

  • Hey there are still some really good current R&B. Corinne Bailey Rae, Christie Michelle, Maxwell, etc. You just have to find them :D

  • Nate Dogg u son of a bitch! lmao

  • i can re-call my mom playin this as a child & 2 b honest i would LUV 4 a MAN 2 make me feel just like this song!!! just love the ol school

  • A really nice bridge in this song.. you can feel it!

  • and what a bridge to this song mucho love

  • Love This Old School Slow Jam, Brings Me Memories Back In The Day,

  • I still love this song.

  • Too: All my old school lovers.. This is our today's Jam...

  • @briannopain you must not have been a child in the 80's because if you were you'd know that music programs were cut out of school budgets at this time. Which means there were less kids picking up instruments because most parents couldnt afford lessons much less the instrument itself. If nobody sampled these old records then the music would be lost forever. Not to mention Any Major Artist that samples a song has to pay to use it otherwise it wouldnt get released.

  • Quality eighties selection here. Always great to hear.

  • Simply magnificent!

  • This is one of those wonderful songs from years ago that can never be replaced by anybody at anytime.

  • It's music like this that made relationships work. The music back in the day was always about experiencing love not just words about having sex. The young ones of today will never experience the love we felt for each other back in the day... So sorry...

  • Wow....................I'm transport back in time of a young girl dreaming of a love that would feel her this way !!!

  • Smoothed out if you put this on, she knows what time it is.............

  • A love song is when a man sings to his woman or woman to her man. Not homey to the homies and girls to the girlfriends. Take notes youngsters and help your longevity.

This is and was a beautiful song. Many of children were brought into the world behind this one song.

  • what a lovely composition...makes me thick about all my loves.

  • This reminds me of my teenage years listening to the Quiet Storm program at night while I was busy doing my homework. :)

  • I love this group. And this is my favorite song. I wished they still made music like this. Thanks for posting.

  • Wheeeww!! (all i can say) mmh!

  • Wheeeww!! (all i can say) mmh!

  • CLOSER Than CLOSE....CLOSER THAN MOST (-:

  • This song is so damn good that I can close my eyes and FEEL the slow groove get up underneath my skin. I can barely breathe when I think of the man that I want to hold when I listen to this song. But listening is all I can do...

  • I remember Nate Dogg and Snoop had one to this music also

  • @2cooldahomie

No it was Nate dog and Warren G and the song was called nobody does it better.

  • Sad that people are typing about rappers who've sampled while REAL music is playing. Hell, I'm mad at myself right now!

  • there are people who know music better than (you) back/forward/side-to-side who sample to create music and can do so in a way that you will either hardly know what they've taken from, or view it is a fitting homage. (see "J Dilla", "DJ Jazzy Jeff")

there are already classic songs from 20 years ago that contain samples, so there is no reason why someone today can't do the same using a sample.

although, admittedly, everything can't be Atomic Dog

most music from ANY period is average/derivative

  • WOW...NOW THIS IS WHAT I CALL MUSIC...

  • I love rap songs that have an R&B slow groove sample in it like this one which Nipsey Hussle used for his song of the same name. I feel bad for those who judge a song on its originality. I would rather listen to something borrowed and sounds good than something original and sounds like crap. Lets say the song wasn't sampled and they did have someone compose the song with instruments and then put it with the rap lyrics. Would it sound any different? No. All I want is good music

  • This is the song that my wife and I dance to at our wedding reception and it took everyone by surprise, when they said you two are what that song is all about

  • This is the moment when you are on the dance floor and you are searching for the right word to say

  • EEwwww WWeeee.....classic!!! Always sets the mood when its right!!

  • dis daht weak ish ryte hea

  • my jamm <3

  • This is the song we slow danced to with the girls in high school back in 83-84. Back when love was still kind of innocent, and when you loved a girl, you LOVED her. Nothing like the loser, slack couples now who think that a good love song is Little Waynes "Lollipop" Or T-Pains "Circus". NOT even close!

  • my goodness i remember when this song came out!

  • This is when dating was really dating, yall know what I mean.

  • Quietstorm and endless nights with my sweetheart at the time wow I feel old and I'm only 28 lol

  • Closer than close is truly a classic beautiful music.

  • aMan what a love song right? There is no music out here today that i find, that can compete thats just how i feel no one else just me....

  • LOL.NOW i SEE WHERE KEYSHiA COLE AND JAHiEM GT THEiR BEAT FROM.THAT SONG iVE CHANGED FOR YOU.THiS iS THE BEAT AT THE BEGiNNiNG.YEA=).THANKS FOR THE UPLOAD THO`

  • This song brings me closer than close to amazing music which will never be made again. Music really is at the point of no return right now...and that path leads to damnation.

  • I love this song right here.... I'm 21 yrs old and I prefer to listen to this stuff then the music thats for my generation....

  • This music was the shit back in the day when I was young.

  • this is real music not rap crap

  • thsi is the jammmmmmmmmmmmm, this pops my mind-I am in love with my woman. This song does it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember being on the phone (you know, the one with really long extension cord), in my room listing to Quiet Storm and talking to my girl while this was playing...good memories!

  • Yes!!!!

  • this is a love making song for sure and I dont mean sex but making real love with someone

  • @honiblk75 thats for real

  • @honiblk75 ...... yup! juicy!! =)

  • ...sOul!

  • I Respect That Jig! THats What We Need Culture!!!!

  • Ma nigga Nipsey Hussle sampled dis...I had to here it...Dope R&B shit...sometime i wish I was born back in da day wit R&B like dis....

  • damn i love this song rite here

  • i had a date the other thursday and i was making a cd of my favorite classics this is one but i forgot to put it on the cd..dang!!!! but it would've really set the mood. But she got all teary eyed on the selection of music i chose and the date itself

  • I was thinking about the young lady I was dating when thi somg came out. my first year in college.Audrey Rankin. This our favorite song.

  • "Sampling" is what people of minimal talent do to make a "CD." Artist CREATE their own music. An entire "CD" of sampled music is not what talented artist do. "Albums" were created by individuals who could read musical notes and create music. No ego maniac producers or computers needed. 20 years from now no one is going to sample todays "sampled" music.

  • Nuff said...I couldn't put it any better.

  • They wont sample 20 years from now cuz nobody makes classic enough material worthy of a sample. U think somebody gon sample a Bobby V or Trey Songz track?

  • @ricoblk6585 There will be plenty of music to sample from. Even contemporary music made entirely of samples has been sampled.

  • @ricoblk6585 Unfortunately, yes, they probably will. :-(

  • @brainnopain ... yesssssss !!! I think the same !!! braavo :)

I'm a hobbysinger, but do always my own styl... ;)

    Carla

  • @brainnopain

If no one is goin to sample sampled music. Then y did kanye sample daft punks stronger. Which is a song that uses samples. You can make music with samples. Listen to Daft Punks music and tell me that their tracks aren't masterpieces. And every track on Discovery has a sample. So think before you talk. A real sampler knows that when you sample your taking something old and making it into something new.

  • @brainnopain what do you do homie? and what is sampling for you?

  • @brainnopain

there are people who know music better than you back/forward, side-to-side who sample to create music and can do so in a way that you will either hardly know what they've taken from, or view it is a fitting homage. (see "J Dilla", "DJ Jazzy Jeff")

there are already classic songs from 20 years ago that contain samples, so there is no reason why someone today can't do the same using a sample.

although, admittedly, everything can't be Atomic Dog.

  • @brainnopain Try telling that to the four pathetic losers who disliked it. I l'm really

    into music from 60s-90s.

  • You say minimal talent I say creativity. If the song conveys a different message, rhythm, and over all atmosphere then the sampled track then there is no harm and no foul. It's funny how old niggas focus their negative energy on what the younger gen' is doing, meanwhile make excuses for the other genre's of music who take whole songs from us no samples (i.e. Elvis, . 20 years from now is too late, newer artist are already sampling Pac, Big and each other.

  • @brainnopain Sit back and enjoy the music of your generation. Don't gun after mine. Beside's, I could probly know more about your generation's music then you do.

  • @brainnopain Don't forget that a lot of the time sampling is a gateway for younger audiences to discover music that was before their time. Me for example, I wouldn't know a good HALF of the non-HipHop artists I love now if it weren't for sampling. It's because of sampling that I was able to expand my own tastes in music and develop an appreciation for gems like this one...not to mention songs which barely even surfaced but were still INCREDIBLE! That way, sampling IS an homage to the greats...

  • @brainnopain I understand your point... but you make no sense whatsoever... something has to begin somewhere, and that's what sampling is. Music was made, and it inspired others to make other music... Sampling is a skill, not anyone can do it and make it sound nice... so to say sampling is for people with minimal talent is false... Ive tried sampling, it's very very difficult... Sampling is also a way to pay hommage if you will to those who inspired you...

  • @brainnopain My friend, you said it all!!!! Amen!!! That last line about no one sampling "sampled" music years from now is right on!!!!! Where have all the writers and true musicians gone!!!!??? Thanks for your intelligent comment!!!!!! It's one of the most thought-provoking things I've read online in----well, maybe ever!!!!

  • @brainnopain im sorry your completely wrong if you think people who sample have minimal talent.

  • @brainnopain I'm sure you've never touched a sampler in your life. It takes considerable skill to make anything resembling music with one.

  • @brainnopain i kno diz iz late but juz cuz a person samplez a song doesnt mean dey have little talent.i im an up-n-comin audio producer myself n i make my own original beatz, but come across old skool beatz like thiz dat i would like to sample.diz.but i do understand where u comin from.now if a whole album or mixtape haz nuttin but sampled music den yea datz a problem n showz u have little to no creativity skillz wutsoeva. i.e- kanye west.checc minez out if u like

  • I disagree in that case you saying 2pac shakur, biggie smalls, jay z, lil wayne, jaheim even me..... all have use samples but we are "MINIMAL TALENT" uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhh no! do your research before u speak

  • @brainnopain Really? Sampling Is Great! Without Sampling Most Of These Sampled Records Be Lost In The Archives! They Actually Rebirth The Record To The Point You Actually Like The Original Song! The Average 25yr Old Dont Know About Norman Connors Or Minnie Ripperton Or Dionne Warwick (minus Psychic Friends) ! Im Just Saying!

  • This was music at its finest. . . .

And what the hell is this 'sample' crap, anyway?

  • it's an hip hop art form. sampling is turn something into your own. sampling is an appreciation of what has come before hip hop and what has come before those who sample.

  • Shivers.

  • thank you so much for posting

  • love this song so much im young but for some reason older music touches me more than the bull thats out now

  • I heard this song for the first time on the radio a few days ago. I was changing cd's, and the station I had it on was playing this song. and I noticed that it sounded familiar. One of my favorite hip-hop songs "Nobody Does It Better" by Nate Dogg and Warren G sampled this song, so I decided to listen to the whole song. then I also noticed that ANOTHER one of my favorite hip-hop songs "A+Z" by A+ and AZ used a sample from this song. This is simply great music!

  • @Godzilla360 wat was tha song called that AZ did?

  • Atlantic Starr! My goodness can it get any better than this and "Send for Me"! No, I mean ... Really?!!

  • Shaaronie...I 100% agree with u!!! also there jam. "Your Love finally ran out" 3 of my FAVORITES from them...

  • People should be ashamed of what they call music today, now this is what you call music, " this universe will pass" come on now, when was the last time you heard some lyrics like that.

  • powerful song!i feel so sexy!and high on love!with a blue light a ear full or conversation and my mind on a trip!this is grown people music with the g being thick!if we could just get back to that!the romance of the conversation!smooth

  • secret lover they made this whole album for us.

  • LOVE this song...they don't make this stuff anymore...Now check my profile for 45 of these kind of songs!...

  • I love this song. I learned how to slow dance with this song. WOW!
