the guy with the suspended license is right. you can have a suspension on your record before you actually get the license (underage drinking, skipping school, etc)
Honestly, FurBeastGiggleHead, I'm confident you're intelligent enough to know that people don't always have the time to think about the exact grammatically-correct words to get their message across, especially when they're amid a heated/tense argument; not to mention the fact that some folk simply never had the chance at an ed. of proper grammar use that others are blessed with. (Not that these guys' word usage sounded too bad anyways.)
Looks like someone had too much free time on his hands...
I must also impress on the fact that you yourself had an improper use of grammar in your latest video dating February 2011: "Hello, everyone. It's Comixbear. Hope you all are doing GOOD..." (Need I explain?)
See? You yourself don't always take the time to think about your grammatical errors.
i think what that guy was talking about is if you get caught driving underage they can prevent you from getting your license on time say you are supposed to get when you turn 17 they can say you now have to wait until you're 17 1/2 because of what you did but i guess that guy didn't know how to explain that
I have also heard: "He tooken it," "I had boughten," and unfortunately, many times, "those/these ones." From Americans. Why is English so utterly mangled by people that are born and raised with it? Do other languages suffer with this?
Whithout wanting to get into an arguement with anybody i would just like to point out that nowhere in England is the term "kids's" or "girls's" used in everyday speech.
I can see a possible cause for confusion with a possesive apostrphy following an s. Take the name Chris, you can put Chris' or Chris's both are ok and both said as Chris's. This does not apply to other words like girls or kids. You would put girl's for a thing belonging to one girl and girls' for a thing belonging to two or more girls. This is In English English but I would think that it would be correct. The difference in language is usually spelling and substitute words not grammar.
engish-english... wtf!!!! :) its just english you guys have coined american-english as your own language. England = English... not english-english....
and I'm majorly english. No one in the UK refers to it as english-english. I live in australia and this is the first I've heard of australian-english.
you obviously have been studying toward a sub standard degree then mate, as an English Major SHOULD know its just kids' and girls' NOT kids's and girls's
Try becoming and instrument and electrrical engieer instead like I am, because it seems i know more about language than you!!!!
"Kids's" and "girls's" is not ACADEMIC, but I believe it's used in certain parts of England. Linguists call the three major Englishes: English English, American English and Australian English. Just because you are English does not mean you know everything about the language on an academic level.
I'm sorry, could you point out a single insult I've slinged your way since you claim I've flied into a "rampage of insults" against you. Also, I said "I think". I'm not entirely sure. It certainly isn't academic or considered "high class", but I think there are parts of England where people say that in everyday speech.
haha so that makes it fact, despite i was born there and you've probably never left sweden. i'm still waiting for FACTS, maybe your claim to being an english major are completely faux.
and as for the insult, you have been nothing but belligerent in your tone, "what was too difficult for you to understand" is a great example.
I NEVER CLAIMED IT WAS FACT. I've been to England multple times, the United States once. I NEVER said it was fact. I've always said "I THINK...". YOU, however, keep stating things as facts.
Being "belligerent in one's town" =/= "going on a rampage of insults"
Never once have you used the words "I think" or anything that makes it clear that you're not stating it as a fact. Ergo, you state that peole do not use the terms "kids's" and "girls's" in everyday speech in ANY part of England.
you want the control system for a hydrocarbon installation engineered, then I'm your man, spelling and grammar have never been somethhng i claim to be brilliant at. unlike you, who ironically isn't :)
1 spelling mistakes does not a bad speller make. Especially not on Youtube. It's not a 50-pages essay, it's a Youtube comment. Especially not when the self-righteous twit gloating about it makes several each comment.
1) I argued that I think it happens in SOME places of England. I cannot prove it conclusively so I'll concede the point. But that hasn't been the main argument for quite some time now, has it?
2) You claim expertize in the English language on account of being English yourself. You then attack me for ONE mistyping while making SEVERAL in each and every single one of your comments. How can you not see the hypocrisy in that? Being an English major does not mean you're free from making mistypings.
I really don't see where he's been so stupid. I haven't seen a single misspelled word, or a single instance of bad grammar in any of his posts, and he was never trying to argue that "girls's" is correct. He was just arguing that it might be part of a certain dialect. It's not appaling to say, "In some places, they design their hydrocarbon installations incorrectly," even if an engineer says it. I'm a music major, and it's not apalling for me to say, "Some people can't play piano"
I think its funny how she corrects their grammar and they think she is just clarifying.
