  • well that car killed Davey and Kenny. Maybe the car needs to be retired. yes, already is retired, but kinda weird.

  • @43labontepetty he left the 28 car after 1999. he was in SABCO's 42 when he died.

  • whoever built that bellsouth car "should be taken into a dark corner and beaten."

  • What year 2003

  • @WWFKANERULES 2000

  • my grandmother was at that race

  • Bring back the Plates to NHS.

  • im from boston, so EVery nascar event ive been to has been at new hampshire,! its not a VERY exciting track to see a race, ill be honest, its a FLAT 1 mile track, i still love it, but its not DEGA. It still goes to show you that it dosent have to be a super speedway to have bad wrecks! more deaths have happened at this track than most others in past years!!

  • im a stupid redneck, and i run a minor league series called nascar, i'll wait till a couple more people die before i implement the most basic of modern safety equipment.

  • @mrmonkeyballs14 Yes you are. Nice attempt at trolling btw. :v They've already done that, they're called the "car of the future" or some crap. Anyway, do some homework, look into the new (stupid looking imo) cars, they're actually pretty safe. Same for the foam lined barricades and the REQUIRED by ALL drivers to wear neck supports. The list goes on, way on. Just wiki the damn rules, I'm tired of typing.

  • NOOO!!! BAD New Hampshire BAD!!! You took too many good drivers away from us! Kenny Jr. was great! Adam Petty was gonna be a star!!! You're Grounded MISTER!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You Killed My favirote nascar driver... You Bastards!

  • I was there that day - I pulled into our spot with my dad and neighbor and saw the helicopter take off.

  • R.I.P. KENNY IRWIN!:(<3

  • Adam Petty, and Kenny Irwin died from the throttle hangin wide open. Plus not to mention how many other people have died from that too in circle track and drag racing.

  • how is this ironic?fucking news reporter is stupid.

  • Is that Marty Snider with the report? Sounds like him...

RIP Kenny... 2000 was a HORRIBLE year for NASCAR (Adam Petty, Kenny Irwin Jr. and Tony Roper all died in 2000)!!!

  • @PhilipTheBigOne yea then came 2001 enough said

  • @snowddoogg: Yeah. Another HORRIBLE year!!! Maybe even more...

  • @PhilipTheBigOne yea thats Marty Snider

  • i was there sitting in turn 1 and heard he was killed over the scanner, the thud was chilling and I have never seen a car ride the wall from turn 3 to turn 4 on its roof like that.

  • @dezontk And end up like Kenny Irwin.

  • that 28 havoline ride had bad mojo. RIP Kenny.

  • @HushOnHellsHorizon when he died he wasnt driving the 28 havoline car..Ricky Rudd was. notice how Ricky Rudd is wearing the hat.

  • @element0990 Ah ok, My bad. But hey, He Did drive the 28, so i still count that as bad mojo.

  • RIP KENNY IRWIN 1969-2000 what i got to say

OMG NEW HAMPSHIRE MOTORSPEEDWAY KILLED KENNY

    YOU BASTARD

  • @robloxvideos42 you horrible jerk! oh well, at least it was funny :P

  • worst crash ever

  • I believe tony Stewart was probably the most upset after this.

  • @STP43FAN1 Yeah, you keep believing that. Hahahahaha.

  • Fucking shame. Kenny was going places in NASCAR before this happened...

  • Here's the bottom line - if the engines were restricted to where they could not break 150 in straightaway speed at Loudon, it is COMPLETELY unlike Irwin would have been injured.

  • @STP43FAN1 Here's the bottom line...you're an ignorant dumbass who doesn't know jack shit about engines, racing, history or anything else for that matter. Bottom line #2....I'm done wasting my time with your ignorant ass. Bottom line #3.. I'll let the others who come behind me respond to your ignorance with more facts. Bottom line #4..Although foreign to you, facts create real history. Try them on for size

Now you can go back to farting in the tub and eating the bubbles, Junior.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE The bottom line is you do not have a credible argument. Period. I know more about racing history than you do because I study it and am not enamored of the sport's technology and recognize when it's an impediment to the sport instead of an asset. You provided NO facts in any of your responses, just rumpswabbery. You can't claim he was held back 1981-4 because of nonexistent team instability, nor that he was better than Petty because the fact of Petty's injuries trumps you.

  • @STP43FAN1 Schooling session is over now. Apply the facts given and become less of a dumbass.

    NEXT!!!!

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE I applied the facts and thus won the argument.

  • MONSTER MILE II

  • its sad when a nascar driver dies at least they die doing what they love to do

  • I'm sorry but I have to state the fact that a guy was wearing a viagra shirt at 1:03 or 1:02

  • Any footage of the crash?

  • fuck u new hampsire

  • if only adam was and kenny were still here with us. maybe then the shops wouldn't be closing up ;( its really sad to see the king losing his bussiness

  • Why did they never show the crash? I mean seeing Dale Earnhardt's crash kinda made it easier to deal with in a way.

  • @C0LL1N It was practice so there were probably no cameras on.

  • What was Ricky Rudd talking about??? He said that they had not had to deal with something like that "in a long time, since Neil Bonnett @ Daytona," but Adam Petty had just died in an almost identical accident at the same racetrack 2 months earlier.

  • @BamaChris he probably meant within the winston cup garage

  • @BamaChris i thought they ment Allison

  • @BamaChris Rudd didn't race in the Busch Series after Bonnett died.

  • blaise, earnhardt, irwin, petty RIP

  • I was at the track when Kenny died. We din't know he had lost his life until the beginning of the Busch East race later that day when they asked for a moment of silence. We were shocked!!!

  • To those of you arguing about F1 and NASCAR - when a racing driver dies, it doesn't matter what kind of motorsport they raced in. It's the loss of a human life and to argue over which one is better is, quite frankly, pathetic. When a driver does die, real motorsport fans unite to grieve and remember the person who died doing what they loved, no matter what series they support. It's because we're grateful and respectful of the people who risk their lives to entertain us. RIP Kenny Irwin Jr.

  • @Emsybean agreed

  • @Emsybean You are so very right.

  • Kenny Irwin Forever

  • I was at the track this day and the day Adam Petty was killed. It was pretty scary to find out that both drivers had stuck throttles and were killed at exactly the same spot on the track.

  • to those who are showing how ``horrible`` NASCAR is and that open wheel is better. your really showing how much class and respect you have. and your really representing Europe nicely too beacsue i`m guessing most open wheels fans are from Europe.

  • I love Formula One but I love NASCAR as well, it takes more balls to race at 180 mph and only be a couple of inches away from the wall..every kind of motor racing as its own skill and thrill, people need to understand that and stop bashing other racing series. *sigh* Nonetheless RIP Kenny.

  • a HANS device would have saved his life because he died of spinal dislocation from his head lunging forward, the HANS device is what prevents the head from lunging forward so that item would have saved him and probably Adam Petty and Tony Roper as well.

  • He was my favorite, R.I. P Kenny

  • R.I.P. Kenny

  • @straightedger9 Yeah for sure, rest in peace speed racer...

  • I cant belive hes been gone for t0 years nows man..

  • how can u crash when all u gotta do is go round in a circle... darn its so gay!

  • @specialsenna im guessing your a fan of open wheel racing then, well this just in: a stock car race just had more competitive passes in 1 race than proffessional open wheel racing has in 10 years!

  • Aloha All,,,

Still after all these years, what a tragic loss, both Kenny Irwin Jr,and Adam Petty... So much pain for family, friends,

and fans, alike... God Bless them Both...

    Big

  • your a fucking dumbass

  • He was my favorite, a darn wonderful driver and man. R.I.P Kenny

  • I really admire anyone who goes into this sport. they do it for the rush and they know the risks but do it anyway for the fans and for themselves. I love watching Nascar and Formula 1 and find it exciting. Unfortunately, accidents and death are a part of it. Thankfully there are safety precautions in place so that fatalities don't happen often.

  • You have it live?

  • @whyshouldicare898 In english please. Of course a Nascar fan types/spells as you do. I am not the least bit suprised.

  • Nascar is gay. Lets go left. lets go left again, hey, I got an idea, lets go left again... It is racing for hillbillies. None of these guys are as skilled as F1 guys or WRC guys. Sorry for this tragedy though. Rip Kenny.

  • @kidballistic one f1 cars turn better dumass and wrc they are me skilled but alot of people go from indycar to nascar

  • @wHyShOuLdIcArE898 more not me

  • @kidballistic Just because you dont like NASCAR doesn't make it "gay". Its just a different form or racing, and it requires different skills. Juan Pablo Montoya drove in Formula One for several years and was fairly successful; he decided to go from F1 to NASCAR. Honestly, I am not a fan of NASCAR myself, but to say the drivers are less skilled is like saying Soccer players are better then Hockey players, its a different type of racing.

  • @kidballistic how many passes are in F1 racing, and i mean competitive passes, not ones done in the pits or lapped cars. Whenever i watch open wheel racing, when a competitve pass is made the announcers are all "Oh My Goodness, he actually was able to race and pass, what!" wheereas in stock car racing, passing and racing is so common its nota big deal. open wheel is not racing, its follow the leader....

  • @SaintBEEP Yeah it is easy to pass when you're turning left for three fucking hours.

  • @pinhead739that doesn't make a difference, sure F1 has certain corners like chicanes and hairpins, butt hey have there shares of increasing radius corners and extremely long straight-aways. and the yare still unable to be competitive, and even if that doesn't make a difference it doesn't make for exciting racing. it creates a game called follow the leader.

  • @kidballistic

guess thats why pretty much every driver from F1 and Wrc that come over to Nascar do horrible at it .

  • Guys. Shut.Up. You people who say NASCAR is a boring piece of crap, comment like that on another video. First of all, it's spam. And your argument has no basis to it. Why don't you watch a FULL race at say, Talladega, THEN see what you think about NASCAR. It's not just left turns, people.

  • lol barrel roll

    but seriously rip kenny

  • 0:59

You can see his car :*(

    RIP Kenny and Adam.

2 amazing drivers, gone before their time.

  • I didnt know that Kenny passed at the same track as Adam. Adam's passing broke my heart, i thought he would have been the future of the Petty family in Nascar. Kenny & Adam rest in peace.

  • no, adam passed away in the same spot as kenny irwin. But yes...just like lee petty had the king...the king had kyle...and kyle had adam....so there will never be another petty in racing again. I'm still sad over the whole situation. Nobody deserves to pass on in such a violent manner. However on a positive note, aleast they're doing what they love. They know what could happen...but still love to do what they do. RIP Kenny RIP Adam...RIP to every race car driver who lose their life racing.

  • same corner too

  • Sounds like the track has an issue. Like turns that maximize impact force if there is an issue.

  • That was a very tough year for NH racing fans. LOve the track go there every year.

  • wow second death at same track in a year

Loudon is literally a death trap

  • no ones died sice then i think

  • what about dale earnhardt

  • @varietyvid You have to figure also that those two guys had stuck throttles and that will cause bad things, especially at a track where you hit 160 in the straights and you have to brake to 90 in the turns. The resulting restrictor plate race in September of that year was horrendous.

  • yeah i remember that race jeffburton led every lap i think the only winston cup race that a driver led every lap.I think it was 300 laps.Miss ol adam, keny, blaise and dale .Alot race car drivers lives have been saved from the soft walls and hans for sure.

  • Kenny was a racer's racer........when he drove sprint cars I asked him when they repaved winchester speedway if he was worried like some drivers if it would be too fast for unwinged USAC sprinters....

He said that he they will be a couple seconds faster around that place and he couldn't wait to run that fast.....

That my friends is a racer.............

    RIP Kenny you are missed........

  • you are unenjoyible and a piece of shit!!!!!!!!!!!

  • RIP kenny and fuck u to all the people who think racing and nascar is gay

  • nascar is my fav sport inda world along wid the nhra and sprintcars and im from Australia.

  • same, except replace nhra with like V8 supercars

  • @wHyShOuLdIcArE898 nascar IS gay

  • @wHyShOuLdIcArE898 racing is great. NASCAR is gay.

  • @penske13 ok idc wat u think

  • @wHyShOuLdIcArE898 nascar is gay though

  • @jammytgee ok idc wat u think

  • @wHyShOuLdIcArE898 shut the hell up this has nothing to do with what people think about racing. have some respect for these people who risk their lives racing

  • @hellomotobleh you should shut the hell up my mesage was to people who hate nascar and racing bc them drivers risk ther lives everyday thats wat my mesage ment you dumass so tink b4 you post again dumass

  • @wHyShOuLdIcArE898 no you shouldnt curse or even talk about that stuff when this video is about the death of someone else. this isnt a place to bash other people go find a video where it bashes nascar then post your vulgarity there

  • @hellomotobleh well maybe you shouldnt of said anything and that never would of happend dummy

  • @wHyShOuLdIcArE898 nascar is gay wat go around in oval tarck u stupid 500 laps rretarded f1 is better

  • @cjdj1993 Personally F1 is very boring as well as uninteresting

  • @TheMrtgamer u an asshole

  • @cjdj1993 Yeah, I get that a lot.....

  • @cjdj1993 Yeah, you are too for dissing on nascar

  • @cjdj1993 I see....

  • @cjdj1993 F1 blows....boring bullshit!

  • Is not gay, is for hamsters to run into a box doing the same thing by 20000 lap, and by definition is BORED.

  • @wHyShOuLdIcArE898 Ok, NASCAR is boring. NASCAR turned into IROC. The only difference between the cars is the paint jobs.

  • @22reTOYOTA you do realise IROC was one of the most exciting forms of motorsport there was. so your comment was a huge self contradiction. how can you say nascar is boring...then compare it equally to the intense action of the iroc series...you dont make any sence lol

  • @wHyShOuLdIcArE898 - I don't think it's gay, I think it's dishonest bullshit designed to be more and more like WWE ever since they brought in the damn restrictor plates. 1987 and before, it was awesome...and if a Bill Elliott went out and destroyed everyone else, then everyone else needs to get better. Real auto racing, come hell or high water.

  • @VampireYoshi The restrictor plates were and are necessary because the speeds cannot be trusted to be safe. If Bill Elliott went out and mopped the field because he had a 7/8-scale racecar that's wrong - real racers win by outfighting the field, NOT by outrunning it. Real racing means restrictor plates - they never should have taken them off at Loudon or anywhere else.

  • @STP43FAN1 If Nascar was suppposed to be safe then everyone's grandma would be a driver. The reason the drivers get paid the big money is because it is not safe. Take off the plates and let 'em race. if you don't have the nerve, then let someone who does get in the car and run it. I will all day. Dale was killed on a restrictor plate track and if it wasn't a plate track then the pack that killed him wouldn't have been there and the greatest driver ever in Nascar would still be with us.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE Are you that dumb? The restrictor plates never stop them from racing - they keep the speeds within what the track in question can handle. "Dale" died in a two-car crash UNIVERSAL to all tracks - the pack was irrelevent to anything beyond superior competition. Put the plates on all the tracks and finally bring real safety to them. Real racing requires restrictor plates.

  • @STP43FAN1 No, but you are one sure enough dumbass. Just goes to show that when a dumbass like you believes a certain thing, even if everyone else can see what happened, you won't change your idiotic opinion. Real idiots like you require restrictor plates on the cars, racing does not. Make as much horsepower as you can and run it, dumbass. But anything to help out a slow Dodge is your idea.

    Anything else, extra chromosome boy?

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE Racing has never been about horsepower - it is about PASSING. I deal with facts, not opinions. Your idea about why Earnhardt died is an opinion, not a fact, and indeed your opinion is unsupported by fact. The restrictor plates do not stop them from racing, they keep the speeds within what tyhe track in question can handle - that is a fact. The racing with restrictor plates is superior - that is also a fact.

  • @STP43FAN1 LOL...yeah....racing has never been about horsepower. Yeah right. That explains why the plates bring down the horses and causes the cars to go slow and run in a pack. That also explains why the one with the most horses is 95% of the time going to be the one who wins. U talk bs and don't know crap about engines and what it takes to win. I've run round track and 1/4, 1/8 and 1000 foot drag racing. More horses and torque=more wins and more passing. Glad to have schooled u, Junior.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE The one who fights the other cars the hardest is the most likely to win. The cars go over 180 - that's slow? Because it's not beyond what the track in question can handle? The facts are the facts and they do not concur with this twisted view of racing you have. You're a drag racer, which means you have zero clue what racing beyond that form of motorsport is about. Horsepower in racing is always less important than ability to outpass the other cars.

  • @STP43FAN1 I've run ROUND track and drag races. Still do drag race. Next time read the comment and then reply. That's the reason you get your "facts" messed up....you don't comprehend. All racing is about the most horsepower and torque. That's why EVERY race team in EVERY form of racing researches and develops engine flow....more power. From street racers to F1 to Cup. Are you intentionally trying to reply with such ignorance? More schooling for you, Junior.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE I read the comment, pal. I'm not the one getting facts messed up here. Racing is about PASSING. PASSING. You don't need horsepower to produce passing - you don't need speeds where they presently are to produce passing. Those are facts; what you are spouting is IGNORANCE. Racing does not need nor should have horsepower - restrict it.

  • @STP43FAN1 And by the way, if Big E came along when all you had to do was go to an out of the way dirtrack and race nobodys with no money five times a week and have Nascar count those as real wins, E would have won 1000 races and 25 cups. If your boy Petty came along when Big E did, Petty wouldn't have won even 1 cup. When the competition ramped up in 1980, your boy Petty won what...8 or 10 more races and no cups in 13 years? Petty couldn't lace Earnhardt's. Pearson's or Gordon's boots. FACT.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE Earnhardt did not achieve the bulk of his success until the sport's technology era kicked in in 1985. Until then he was a driver who won some races and won a title because Richard Petty suffered a broken neck - he was not considered a future superstar. In Earnhardt's heyday there were fewer and fewer drivers who fought to win, and those that did fight to win (Bodine, Richmond, Allison, Kulwicki, Wallace, Irvan) either died or got seriously injured.

  • @STP43FAN1 Earnhardt did not achieve the bulk of his success until 1985 because he drove for 4 different owners on 5 different occasions from '79 to '84. In that time frame he still won Rookie of the Year over Harry Gant and a Cup over one of the greatest drivers ever....Cale Yarborough and not Richard Petty. If Earnhardt had not broker his collar bone in '79 and been out for 4 races he would have won the cup that year and been Rookie of the Year. Pearson won Darlington in Big E's car.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE Earnhardt drove for one owner 1979-81 (with a brief stopover at the end of that period), one owner 1982-3, and one owner 1984 onward. That did not degrade his ability to win - this was still the era when the driver made the car instead of the other way around. His 1980 title came only after Richard Petty, who'd erased a huge point game from mid-May, broke his neck at Pocono. Earnhardt was not going to win the 1979 Cup - he was way too raw to do so.

  • @STP43FAN1 Earnhardt drove for Rod Osterlund until early season 1981, then JD Stacy and Richard Childress to finish out the year. Bud Moore in 82-83 and back to Childress in 84. Just like I said, 4 different owners on 5 different occasions from 79 to 84. And he would be an 8 time champion if not for a broken collar bone in 79. If he was not a star from day 1 then I guess that makes Junior Johnson a mad man. He offered the 88 car to E before he did to Darrell. More schooling for u, Junior.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE Excuse me, I meant to say the 11 Junior Johnson car was offered to Dale before it was to Darrell. DW was in the 88 car at the time and I briefly intertwined the two.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE And your assertion that Earnhardt's winning ability was held back 1981-4 because he went to different teams remains bogus. He was never going to be an eight-time champion - he did not have it in him to win the title in 1979 and was not going to do it after 1994 regardless of how long he raced.

  • @STP43FAN1 And Big E was considered a future superstar in 1979. Anytime you come into cup and kick ass right out of the gate, ur one of the new superstars. U can twist anything you want to make it fit your ideas, but facts don't lie. Petty was a mid card racer with all the money at his disposal and Earnhardt was a top tier racer with no money at his disposal. I know Dale Earnhardt facts, met him many many times and rooted for him all his career. Especially when he blew past Petty every race.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE I don't twist anything. Petty was the champion and Earnhardt won his first only after Petty broke his neck. You say you know Dale Earnhardt facts - all you've done is prove you don't.

  • @STP43FAN1 Petty had 8 DNFs in 1980. 7 of them engine failure (5 after Pocono) and 1 clutch failure. That was the reason he didn't win anything in 1980. Petty wasn't a factor after 79. That's when, like I said earlier, the competition ramped up and old boy's money couldn't win it for him anymore. He couldn't rely on running no competition mid week dirt track races to pad his points and win total anymore. Nascar didn't count 'em after 71. I'm almost finished schooling you, Junior.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE You're underestimating the effect Petty's broken neck had on the entirety of the team that year - the idea that he'd have blown five engines without his broken neck affecting preparation is absurd. The competition didn't ramp up then - drivers steadily decreased their determination to win because they figured out the points system refused to reward winning. What happened was Petty kept getting hurt after 1980. Petty won when the field fought to win.

  • @LT1HILLINGHOE true..Petty Enterprise's took advantage of a sport that was young people didnt have money to buy nice parts once the modern era came in 1972 ..petty didnt win as much..i believe in my heart Dale and pearson ..and maybe gordon/dw/and richmond are better then petty !

  • still the safety issue in this sport has not been the same compared to f1 which to be honest are a far more dangerous than nascar..

  • yeah and both sports are ruining themselfs because of overtaking rules, and other crap they are gonna be sooo boring

  • Ya this was a sad day for the sport. But you gotta remeber this can happen. Its part of the sport. Sure do miss him. Hope he knew Christ.

  • Rip Kenny

    You will always be remembered

  • Irwin was driving the 42 Bellsouth Chevy at the time if I remember correctly. He was Jarrett's teamate the year before and Rudd replaced him when he left in the Havoline 28.

  • You are a true mental retard, the brainpower of a caveman. I truly believe your family lineage has not advanced mentally past the point of a grubworm. You will be snuffed.

  • Does anyone else find it creepy that 2 of the 3 drivrs who drove the Havoline car from 1992 to 2002 have been killed? (Davey Allison, Kenny Irwin)

  • shit man, never even thought about that

  • dont forget ernie irvin also almost died

  • And Damn Near Ernie Irvan.

  • and don't forget that Ernie Irvan was seriously injured in that car also. At Michigan I believe..

  • there were more than 3 drivers in that time but dont forget Ernie Irvan was almost killed while driving the 28

  • yeah really that is pretty strange!!

    Kenny Irwin Was awsome!!!!!!!!!!

  • Kenny was my favorite driver after Davey. Put Irvan in the middle and the Havoline car equalled to some very bad years (crashes) R.I.P. You'll always be missed

  • Thanks, I haven't had sound system for a few days and I just wanted to know where he died

  • What track??

  • it seems like the other drivers dont care that much

or its like ricky rudd said

"they dont know how to react"

  • no rdd and jarret were teamates w/ irwin

  • no, Rudd took over the 28 in 2000 after he left the 10 car which he owned.

  • Nine years ago today, and hes still missed by all

    R.I.P. Kenny :(

  • How was it ironic that both Irwin and Petty died in the same spot?

  • and from the same cause... the throttle stuck

  • what track was it that they died at?

  • new hampshire

  • Irony would be if they tried to make the spot safer and then the safety devices they put in place killed him or something. Definitely not ironic, just coincidental.

  • RIP Kenny Irwin

  • flackman129 you are a sick individual!!! ugh!

  • jackass
