I have to say that I was a little taken aback at first that the rythm and feel of the piece seemed to shift at times, but then, I realized that , in the descriptions of the city, the overall affect shown is one of frustration and a slight melancholy and a feeling of being hemmed in. But then, the mood is much lighter, the music seems more energizing when referring to the mountains and life there.

That works marvelously.
