Rotation stabilization was most likely done in After Effects pro. It's pretty easy if you know how to use the tool. In this vid I'm sure they chose two points on the bar and used that as a reference. Too bad they didn't feather the video edge and add a blending background to make it less dizzying.
The video going nuts (the viewable rectangle swinging back and forth)...is that a stabilization filter? If so, is that for Virtualdub or something else? Thanks.
@PointOfViewCameras I ended up using 2 pieces of coasters from my coffee table. it actually worked well. the coaster i used and will use again are a cork type of material (like a wine bottle cork), I'm sure the paper based ones (like you would find at a bar) would work better.
@tedkschultz hmm.. If you are using it under water try drying the fog strip out with a hair dryer.. if that does not work add another fog strip. If you are using it outside and it's cold open the GoPro to the air so the inside of the case become the same temp. Dry that bad boy out, fog srtip and case before you try any of this.
@dahveed284 that's a good idea... the inserts go for 14.99 a pack - includes 3 sets of anti-fog inserts. Each set lasts 4-5 uses and can be dried in an oven (3 minutes) and used for 4-5 more uses.
@MarcoSpelta85 - If you mean the shake free, smoothing effect... you wanna use the little Quick-Release Buckle Lock, it used to be orange, now it is white... it essentially absorbs shock and vibration. I will email you the link to the video we've go up here that explains it!
@PointOfViewCameras Pardon me, my question was unclear. I meant the digital effect used for the editing: the rectangular edge rotating 360° so to keep the surfer in the right position. It actually works as a gyrostabilized mount would. Which SW did you use?
@MarcoSpelta85 - Oh, no problem. In Final Cut Pro, double click the clip to load it into the viewer window, then in the viewer window click on the Motion tab, then you will see a rotate clock looking thing and you click it and you rotate it like that. In iMovie, that feature doesn't seem to exist. We use both.

this camera should be cheaper. At this price range one could buy a camera that does a lot more than this camera does such as nikon AW100

How much time you can use each pair of anti-fog?
andsongomes 3 weeks ago
@andsongomes all depends how well you take care of them.. but should last you many times just make sure you dry them out very well.

is there any alternative i could possibly use? like a itty bitty piece of rag? paper? cardboard? or a small piece of a coaster?

@ShmooyShmoo Good thinking! Not sure witch one of those options would work better... but let us know if try any of those ideas!
The basic idea is to suck up the remaining moisture in the housing.

Have you tried rainex on the exterior of the housing's lens to help remove water drops?
How much does a package of these inserts cost?

How did you create that "stabilized-like" effect? It's really nice
