  • A very interesting video about a chapter of my birth town Flensburg. Thumbs up and thanks for uploading!

  • someone tell us why the germans didnt use helium? hrrhrr

    great video, 5*s!

  • The Germans used hydrogen and felt safe using it. At that time there were no helium resources in Germany. When the LZ126 flew to the US, the gas cells were filled with hydrogen but after arrival in the US, they were filled with helium. Most helium at that time came from Texas. By the 1930s, Germany requested helium for zeppelins but the Department of Interior rejected the request fearing that the helium might be used for military purposes instead.

  • meant to reply here: correct :)

  • Thanks Cheryl. That was a fun story. It was really great to see the original mail bag as well. I can't wait for the next installment! Yeah, Ray.

  • Glad that you enjoyed it. Some folks thought I was crazy to drop an original post bag, but it was designed to withstand exactly that!

    Cheryl

  • correct :)

  • Cool! I learned something

  • Thanks! I hope it inspires others to do a video or start collecting zeppelin posts!

  • Excellent video, Cheryl!
