  • Love the Monkey series from the late70's/early 80s. I understand with the effects these days they'd make Monkey look MORE like a Monkey and less like the old Monkey. I just hope they keep his toughness and bad temper that the original Monkey had.

  • (ENGLISH)what is the name of the soundtrack a little lyrical Arabic...

(INDONESIA) apa nama soundtrack yg terakhiran, yg awalny berlirik arab trus ganti ke china.... brg x da yg tw mohon bantu

  • this has come out at my country, not China but Indonesian

  • Does anybody know the name of the song at 3:52?

  • Name of the second song ???

  • Good, I am a great fan of the holy Tang priest adventures and his disciples Monkey, Pig and friar Sand. This production is going to be great as it prime much more for human acting than computer generated FX. May be it will never reach us in Brazil but it is a great hope that it will available somewere in the East.

  • Best version of JTTW is the 1996 one with Dicky Cheung.

  • @DishOfRice how so ?

  • @940814 Story is better, special effects is overused, Dicky Cheung is the best to portray monkey king.

  • @DishOfRice Lol I agree with you that the story is better but it doesn't match the novel that much therefore its not the BEST adaption. I'm sure you enjoy because of Dicky Cheung's acting and the comedy (I do also) but I think we should give this one a try. Zhang Ji Zhong has adapted so many novels into series and they all have done well in my opinion.

  • @DishOfRice special effect is overused? the novel is about animals who move like humans. it pratically requires fx almost every second.

  • @eastern2western No it doesn't...People are dressed as animal, fyi. Guess you haven't seen JTTW before. Movie with too much special effects makes it bad.

  • @DishOfRice there are certain things look great with practical effects, but a lot of them could be help with computer effects. personally, I think the show is going to come out as a classic.

  • @eastern2western @DishOfRice I agree with eastern, people are STILL dressed as animals in all of the JTTW (including this one) and maybe you see in the trailer there's a gigantic dragon as an enemy that they have to fight but how can you really pull that off without CGI or without having to go through the trouble of a huge costume. JTTW has always used CGI so therefore now that technology is advancing. CGI is used often sometimes, to look more realistic. JTTW "elements" don't exist in reality.

  • @940814 You are right about technology advancing but they are using it to the point where it does not had the realistic factor to it. I know it's just a movie or series but too much effects kills it. For example the 2000 version of Heavenly sword and dragon sabre compared to the 2003 version which had so much special effect it killed the movie.

  • @DishOfRice yes, I even read the book in its original chinese and all the tv shows made before were fill with problems.

  • @eastern2western Comparing all the JTTW series about their special effects are just bad compare to the 1996 version, the special effect aren't overused or fake looking as much. Comedy is also a factor in movies, I don't want to see a person try be a REAL monkey that has abilities to talk but has no humor. Thus that is why Benny Chan's 1998 version of JTTW 2 wasn't much a success because he tried too hard, and Dicky Cheung 2002 version had too much effects. Overused or "try to hard" kills movies.

  • @DishOfRice yeah, what ever. all hk-made tv shows are pieces of shit that are only worth to be step on and spit on. mainland china has been making some very good tv show lately when it comes to interpretations of classic books.

  • @eastern2western Yep, but it doesn't really matter when nobody really seems to give a shit about mainland china's movies does it? Most movies made in HK draws more viewers and are more entertaining to watch, whether or not it adapts the best to the books. It shows in the money.

  • @DishOfRice LOL ! NOBODY GIVES A SHIT ABOUT MAINLAND CHINA? WHAT .. the famous author Jin Yong's novels were adapted by who ? director of Mainland China, Zhang Ji Zhong. There are horrible series from HK and horrible series from China. But you can't say nobody gives a shit about mainland china. People are anticipating for this release WHICH is china. You can appreciate the series due to the fact of how entertaining it is. But its not JTTW if its not close to the orig novel. So u cant judge.

  • @940814 Mainland China films are anticipated but not AS MUCH as HK films. Money shows it, no need to argue.

  • @DishOfRice I am sorry to yank you out of the 80s, but nowadays, it is rare to get just pure hk productions anymore. most of every tv show or movie is consider to be cross production deals with locations being shot in china and actors from all three areas in order to attract more investment. hk productions suck balls.

  • @eastern2western HK production suck balls? I guess you don't know more money = more buy-rates/views do you? TVB from HK is 4.3 bil while CCTV from mainland china only is 1.1 bil. You can check it up, there is no denying which is more successful. Not every movie has to be exactly the same as the book to make it a good movie, just need some elements from it. Look back at all the classics, like return of condor hero 1995 compare to 2006. 95 is the best version by TVB not mainland china.

  • @DishOfRice please stop taking so much crack. tvb from hk has only about 7 million audience members max because it is in the local language cantonese, while cctv probabably has 1.6 billion viewerships because it is catered toward all of china. some of the hk shows have the most horrendous productions values with fake trees, cheap stages and just plain fucken horrible actors. I love your hk pride but your pride has to be realistic in here.

  • @DishOfRice love your hk pride but it is a foolish commitment. tvb shows have been the worst violation of human atrocities that have been commited since the invention of television. all of their freaking production values look like sticken halloween tricker treaters. fuck your hk shows and I am waiting for this one to come out.

  • @eastern2western You know it doesn't matter what you're saying...People are still paying good money to watch HK movies whether you like it or not...And I don't have HK pride or whatever you just said. I watch movies and tell it how it is, I don't give a fuck whether it's made in HK or mainland china as long as it's good. The only reason I brought up these stuff because you kept bringing up how inferior HK movies are. It doesn't even matter movies are movies. I don't even know why you're mad lol.

  • what title from song opening this video? plis

  • Any journey to the west drama/movie takes so much out of the actors. The molding, the costumes and the physical strain is so... amazing! <3
