My parents used to own a Plymouth Acclaim, it was bright white. I remember when I first started driving it. Man! Did it grow on me. What was funny at that time I was reading the manga Initial D and I actually started imagining myself driving like Takumi in the Acclaim. Sadly, my dad traded it in after it reached 300k for a Surburban. Miss the old car, would have been awesome if I had turned it into a real racing machine!
Funny reading your comment. You sorta sound like me. My Mom had a '92 Plymouth Acclaim back when I was in high school. It was the car used to learn to drive. It grew on me after awhile. I beat the crap outta that poor car and it just kept going and going. It lasted a very long time for us. Excellent car for the money. You couldn't go wrong with an Acclaim/Spirit back in the day.
They must've had to do about 4,000 takes of this commercial as Tina kept exploding into laughter while caressing the cloth upholstery of a Plymouth Acclaim.
I had one of those cars, but mine had 5% limo tinted windows, and a really powerful aftermarket sound system. I got a ton of ass in the backseat back in high school. Then I sold it senior year when I bought my 2nd Thunderbird SC.
Chrysler needs to bring Plymouth back. We used to own a 1990 Plymouth Voyager 3.3L and after 15 years and 230,000 miles it still ran like it did the day we bought it.
Too bad Plymouth is gone...The Acclaim was a great car for the day, and having Tina in their ads was genius. Too bad they did not stay on the road that was being paved with these cool ads.
Chrysler is/was the Cadillac/Buick/Oldsmobile-Dodge is/was the Pontiac-and Plymouth was the Chevrolet. For decades Plymouth was number three in sales in the US-in direct competition with numbers 1 & 2, Ford and Chevy. Plymouth was the volume seller of the Chrysler Corporation was treated horribly in return. By the 80's Plymouths were nothing more than the cheap, rebadged versions of luxury oriented Chryslers and sporty Dodges & starved of new product.
By the mid-90's half-hearted attempts were made with the Prowler, Laser, and Breeze to bring life back into the division. They even screwed up Plymouths chances when the hot Neon compact was sold as both a Dodge AND a Plymouth in the 90's! By the end of the road poor Plymouth had only the Voyager minivan as a truly good seller.
are kidding me this is a piece of shit after 4 years

My first car was a 1992 Acclaim, I had to fix the CV joints and the brakes needed work but it was a good car for the time being.

I have a 1990 acclaim that I am turning into a demo derby car. The exhaust is hack off, and the exterior stripped. Just have to gut the interior.

Tina Turner was way to classy for a Plymouth Commercial. I could see BMW, Benz or even Cadillac.

What's the difference between Plymouth and Chrysler?

Think like the GM hierarchy of cars...
