I wish the work could speak for itself, crushingly shy to share my work b/c I'm always thinking even if they are wowed, they'll wonder how the hell or why the hell I thought of this.
Since the movie "The Player," the "meets" thing has become kind of a cliche. You can get around it by avoiding the word "meets' and say something like, "It has a ticking clock like 'Speed', but also the challenging mystery elements of films like "Seven." (You're really saying, "It's Speed meets Seven" but it doesn't sound as cheesy.)
