  • Why is it so funny when he looks over his shoulder? XD

  • The older version is way better than this one.

  • Dudley Moore was of a different breed of celebrity.

  • He was a genius (Moore and Beethoven)

  • Beethoven's never ends.

  • Beethoven does not approve therefore he disliked it... XP

  • Love you Dud what a talent what a funny funny man. Sleep well Mate

  • What an imp!!

  • What a fantastic man

  • absolute genius

  • Miss him, such a funny guy

  • Amazing i love Dudley Moore and his film Aruther he's so funny! =]

  • This piece elicited a thread comparing Classical music to Jazz. Fact is, most Classics fans love Jazz - and vice-versa. They BOTH have room for improvisation. But the discussion descended into OBSCENITY (it's bizarre how often that happens) so I had to remove ALL entries in the thread - including the SENSIBLE ones. Sorry...

  • This is a live performance. The laughter is REAL, and therefore harder to control audio-wise. It is not dubbed like American shows

The concept of a live audence laughing may be difficult for Americans to understand, because they are so used to "canned laughter".

Case in point: The tv show MASH is shown on the BBC withOUT the laugh track!

That's right American MASH viewers, the laughter you hear on that and countless other shows is FAKE. It is merely a PROMPT to get YOU to laugh.

  • @cmelodicminor The laugh track on "The Addams Family" (the '60s TV series) can, like on "M*A*S*H", be switched OFF - and it is WAY better that way.

  • @cmelodicminor There is a show called All in the Family (based on Til Death Do Us Part from the UK), where they used a live audience. Sammy Davis, Jr. guest-starred and at the end Archie and Sammy takes a picture and at the end of the 3 count to take it, Sammy kisses Archie on the cheek. They said the laughter was for all 7 minutes and they had to condense it for the 30-minute program.

  • The man is BRILLIANT!

  • I love how he mocks the piano! He absolutely dominates it!

  • The laughter is a bit loud, which is annoying.

  • thanks for putting this up. thats such a brilliant video.

  • This just never gets old. He was so good. Poor guy was in very poor health probably as long as 20 years before he died, and he didn't have the happiest personal life, but he was funny and entertaining to the end.

  • This shows just a glimpse of his musical talent. He was trained as a classical pianist/organist and made the transition to jazz, comedian and film star. What talent! As previously mentioned, it is a pity he never recorded Col. Bogey without the audience distraction. But he never recorded enough of his piano artistry anyway!

  • This is pure Genius!!

  • He did. It's the B-side of 'The LS Bumble Bee' with Peter Cook which was a vinyl single in the early 60's.

It's also available as an MP3 download from the online compant beginning with 'A'.

  • fricken awesome.

  • it there a version available without the laughter?

  • @gnativerson - I don't think he ever recorded it. He knocked it up in very short order for "Beyond The Fringe" - and only ever performed it LIVE.

  • Wogan and Moore were great mates. His first question to Moors in one of these interviews was how does such a small man like you get all the girls?

  • not seen this for ages thanks for posting

  • Wow! thanks for posting this hahah! amazing He playd incredibly and he made so maby even more brilliant changes!

  • Amazing!!!!

  • HAHA! This was great! Good thing he wasn't sick of the song after all that time, lol! Thanks for sharing this!!
