God I've missed this series. I've played to offline to death on MH3, and I can't access the online, so I'm thinking of giving it to a friend to experience such a great game. I did miss the Khezu, though. Anyway, has anyone heard about MH4 for the new DS or MH3G (or whatever it's called) that are coming out soon? What new additions are coming with MH3G?

@DefensiveOffender Their bringing back all the weapons, giving a few of the monsters some subspecies, and also adding a new monster. He throws exploding goo everywhere. Plus their keeping the swimming and not to mention adding the plesioth and his subspecies.

@zach296 No Jhen is online only, Ceadeus is the only elder dragon in Monster Hunter Tri that can be fought offline.

Ceadeus: Elder of the Sea

Jhen Mohran: Elder of the Earth

Alatreon: Elder of the Sky (and everything else)

This is why the game is epically known as Monster Hunter Tri. The game with 3 elder dragons of DOOM! >:D Well, only Alatreon is hard... Unless you sleep bomb it from what my friend said. But hacks can make Ceadeus online... Plus, some people can do Jhen solo... Happy hunting!

@strangerworksright lol yeah, i killed the event solo in like 14:54, you just need to know what the fuck your doing and you need to have a weapon with dragon status thats over 300 and attack thats over 800 (and yes it is possible)

and you use the gong in part 2 when he is about to belly flop the dragon ship he will tip over so you can place the dragon bombs in his mouth and his mouth is insanely weak to impact and slice damage

That reminds me of the awesome online mode and how everyone understands eachother in their tactics and rejoice to repel the boss. two people stay back on the ship and keep firing at it, as two people go ahead and repel it by foot. Nothing beats seeing you with an ally run towards this boss with drawn weapons in a giant desert.

Part 2 just sounds like maybe you're turning the tide of the battle. Not nearly as ominous and intimidating as part 1 and not nearly as "onward to victory" as part 3. You still have your opponent the elder dragon to contend with.
