I'm a Manchester City fan, and even I think this was an awful purchase. We paid 8 mil less for Dzeko who is looking incredibly impressive this season, 3 mil more for Aguero who is a world beater, 11 mil less for Silva who is amazing, etc. We spend a lot, but at least we buy quality in recent times (under Mancini). Out of all of Kenny's purchases, Suarez was the only good one for the money paid. 20 mil for Henderson who looks just awful, come on.

Im not sure what you think of Dzeko last season though. Most of my mates think he was a tremendous waste of money. His first season at Wolfsburg, he had 9 goals in 33 games, pretty similar to his record at City last season. Next season, he had 36 in 42, and then 29 in 45, and he always said he needed a season to get situated. This has again proven to be the case. I got a bit worried at times, but never doubted that Dzeko's class would shine through eventually. Carroll has no such record.
