... i'd really like to know what's so hard about this, my main's clarinet and i can play 1st tenor no problem on this, sure some things have a "weird" feel to them but it's nothing difficult. personally i love playing the beggining in a soloish tone =)
it was good the only mistakes i found were the unclear bass trombone triplets, it seemed to have uneven tempo, the solos were pretty good, what do you score in competition? high 80's.
Im in 8th. grade, and my Jazz 1 band can't come close to playing it, practically at all, except for like two people, the lead alto (me), and lead trumpet. But no one else can play it good at all.
I was the lead trombone in this vid, just practice it everyday, and you'll get it. Try alternate positions for the high C(?) I forget what note it is on top but i'm pretty sure it's a C. Try it in like 3rd or w/e, just mess around. Some positions are easier.
Come on j le, I know you can get those triplets, lol! You're awsome, you will make all-state next year no matter what! Don't worry, i'll always be by your side just like I am in this film.
thats a very recording of this for high school... hey i see that your the bass trombone so learn to pound the triplets on that low a to b flat. im playing this to at the moment and it is by far the hardest part in the song... and why was there a drum solo before the soli section?
MG that is the song that we are playing in our jazz band. now this song I'm pretty good at. I like the slur up in like the 5th or 6th bar I think going from the C to the D flat. you version is a little different though especially with the sax solo.
Holy crap....

This wasnt the one we actually played, it was an easier version because we had lots of 7th graders and some new 6th graders.
