  • Hi there, actually I'm Guyanese and we call people that are black and Indian "Dougla" as well.. but y'all say it different with the trini accent!....idk if anyone commented abt that...

  • i had a similar experience when i visited trinidad one summer when i was kike 14.. all d boys sooting, ah was feelin nice abt myself! bc i never got that in NY. and till this day, when a boy tries to hollar in NY i'm jus like "whatever like ew", but in T'dad its jus a different vybz!! it's more kicks than offense

  • My parents are both from Trinidad, and it's been years since I've been able to go back. I love the beauty and craftmanship of Trini gold jewelry. My mom, aunties, and I never leave home without our jingles (stack of bangles) and they always get noticed for their uniqueness. Makes me proud of Trini artistry.

  • I always tell you I look fwd to ya vids cause you're one of a few that plays soca like me!! As many trini friends I have I betta make it to tnt carnival some year because I heard its like no other. And you are soooo right when you said even though you were born here you were raised in the culture so you are a trini! My family is gt/bajan so I appreciate the caribbean culture so much, especially as curvy women we are "normal"! Really enjoyed this vid & you looked pretty asual.

  • Mi luv it...my parents are Jamaican and we love fried johnny cake which is your fry bake. Oh yes, WINE..and the men love the dull figured women. I had a man call me fat and I almost too it the wrong way but I was with my mom and she had to explain that was a complimented . I too was young when that happened. Love the look !

  • in guyana they say "dugla" its the same thing :) my parents are west indian born (trini/ guyanese but of other races). being trini is awesome! bake and saltfish is the best but nothing beats doubles or roti! :D my only qualm is i DONT like chutney music! soca, reggae, hell yes though!
