Mine sounds like that today, was very afraid. Tried to open valve cover for any loose material that might be banging the valves. But it was ok . Suspected the water pump and browse water pump noise. And it is now confirmed that water pump is the culprit. Thanks a lot for the video
thats the noise i hear in my scion tc but i cant tell if its the water pump or the alternator got any suggestions? im gonna work on it myself cause i aint tryin to pay a mechanic $300 to unscrew a couple bolts lol

dude, i have that clanking noise with my ford probe also, i couldnt guess where the noise was comming from. i didnt think it was the water pump because i just installed a new one. your sure this was your water pump? did you even get around to fixing that noise and was it just a water pump replacement?
Ohh I hated the my waterpump would sound. Sound something like yours. Everytime you open the hood almost feels like the car will spit something out at you.
That is very funny, especially when you consider the fact that the AC system in full was disconnected & removed years ago...and when I installed a new water pump the noise just kinda stopped...

That's the noise I'm getting right now and light pressure with a pry bar on the waterpump pulley shows me that the bearings in the WP are shot!

lol, that sound like theres something loose inside the pump. Maybe one of the blades. Horrible sound.

the funny part is you thought it was the h2o pump! from what i saw, that would be your ac compressor that had/has a bad clutch. BIG difference!
