I just finished reading the book today and was simply amazed at Bronte's use of words.
When I finished it, I still had some skepticism over how realistic some of Jane's and Rochester's "lovey-dovey" conversations could have been, but after watching a couple of these videos from the miniseries, I was convinced! Beautiful video, by and by, and to be totally honest, I hadn't seen a very pretty picture of Ruth until I watched this. She's really very gorgeous (and so is Toby. *growl*)
I saw the manuscript in the British Museum last week. It's on display in John Ritblatt Gallery. It's one woman who lived with her father and wrote the book, no publicity, no media, she just did it. Pure Genius!
I have watched this video so many times and it is so romatic and beautiful. Yes, the two of them make you believe in love, romance and passion. OUTSTANDING and the song is awesome and fits perfectly. Wouldn't it the wonderful if they were in another presentation together - that would be fabulous - as they do have a super chemistry. 5+++++

What a dear thought...indeed these actors have given us all a memory of something special. I may still need another bypass having just discovered Toby Stephens, but his work is marvelous! Thanks and stay romantic....keeps life lovely.
grammy70 - I've read your comment so many times and find it both charming and very identifiable. I am tired of feeling guilty for visiting these "romantic" sites and am simply going to enjoy the fact that I can still enjoy "romance," even if it is only ficariously and in memory. You go girl!
Mr Rochester and Mr Darcy ftw! XP

I have no doubt that there are men who would not kick Toby out of their beds...
No matter - Toby and Ruth did a brilliant job with Jane Eyre.

Wonderful... I just loved Jane Eyre... Toby was the best Rochester. He gave us the torment and passion and also kindess of the man Edward Rochester.
