No, unfortunately the original was on my now-corrupt hardrive :( basically I was talking about how the car accident really pushed me to live without a car.
Cool. I'm currently living in suburbia US w/o a car. My body now begs for the exercise. Until a while ago I couldn't even go up a hill w/o getting winded. Tomorrow I'm going to do 10 miles, always pushing a bit further. I love not having the bills related to owning a vehicle. I plan what I have to buy at grocery store and don't waste food now.
The first video I say that my goal is to "live without a car by the end of the year".
These videos show my process and encounters at attempting to go from super-suburban 'got-to-need-a-car' boy to "I ride my bike and walk everywhere lifestyle".
I need to gradually work my way into it, not cold turkey. The ford Tempo's insurance runs out this early May so I'm anticipating I'll be completely car-free by then :)
Haha.. I put my headdown cuz I was reading something, and I look up to see the geo in shambles.. Im sad to see it go... Even though It will never die.. You seem fairly chipper even tho you narrowly escaped death from the geo
I'd probably be a little less chipper if the Geo was completely undriveable. It is sad to see it go that way.
After some time to recall the crash itself along with a look at the damage closely, the collision was probably closer to a 90* angle rather than head-on. The impact was right on my passenger side corner, ripped out the front end from passenger to driver side as the opposing car ricocheted off of the radiator. The damage on the other car was mostly on the driver side quarter front panel.
That is one positive. The bummer is that now I don't have a car to go home to Regina with and the type of collision is tricky to determine who's at blame. Did I attempt to complete my turn too soon, or did the other driver enter the intersection so late that it ran a red light? It's super hard to prove.
I'm sure there's been plenty of times both you and I have nearly collided due to that same situation, both being the car going through a last-second light change or as the car turning left.
Can you reupload this video and add the sound back? Youtube just screwed you. Too bad, I wanted to hear you...

Awesome to hear. I've since bought a place in suburbia as well, but it's 1973 suburbia so it's only about 4 kilometres away from downtown.

I still remember my dad giving me an e-mail after he saw this video. He was like: "Landon! That's not a small accident!".
Honestly, the damage looks much worse than the collision was. The car just crumpled like tin foil :P I only got $990 for it too :(

I think it was more like, "If I can't Drive it no one will!" lol

Ha haha! Well it certainly kinda sucked... My inurance company made m go though hoops because it was an 'out of province claim'.
I was probably better off driving the sucker back home (and I bet it would make it too) and making the claim in Saskatchewan.

I thought you were living without a car this whole year? Did I miss a video where you caved in?

So. your car is totaled and you will get money from insurance. Not a bad deal since you were going to get rid of it anyways.
The radiator is still good and everything. Amazing.
