I just don't get it.  Yeah, it's one thing to redo the textures of 3d doom to make them look more realistic. It's a nice touch. But polygons just don't work with DOOM. If someone really wanted to do a high quality facelift, why not take a tip from Street Fighter II and just redraw them all with hyper detail and animation? Awesome drawings are always more impressive than slapping together some shapes.

The sound effects are very nice. But I don´t like the graphics.. it´s too "3D" for my taste. I liked the 2D graphics better. But I grew up with 2D, so it´s probably not so strange why I think like I do.

meh, I preffered Chiv's and CHeb's modelling/skinning compared to DaniJ...no offense to the guy, he's put his time in - but he's "too" purist with the game art; making 3d models resemble as closly to the original sprites as possible ruined it =/ esp. when the old art work was killed and hidden. But that was Skyjake's choice ultimately~

okay, so call me an idiot for asking this... but how EXACTLY did you get this version? i downloaded a version of doomsday that i found on google search and loaded the wad files into it, and it runs fine. however, i dont have any different weapon / enemy models or anything like that... just some updated lighting graphics on demons' fireballs, pickups, etc. any ideas?

I'm the biggest fan of all id software's games (DOOM, Wolfenstein, QUAKE). I prefer classic games like DOOM, DOOM 2, QUAKE and Wolfenstein 3D, but I can find 100 of great stuffs in new games (DOOM 3, , RTCW, Wolfenstein, QUAKE 4...) so I like them all almost equally. DOOM 4 should be like DOOM 2, Hell comes to earth and you must fight again!!! And imagine the multiplayer, whole earth in ruins!!! It would be the bestestest!!!!! I hope they'll make it like that. I don't think so, for me is one of the best, when it comes to play the original Doom with rearranged textures, sounds and shit it is great, or to play old wads, but GZDoom and Skulltag kickass because of their capabilities. Those three are great for me. The one I didn't like is EDGE.

I need help. I use doomsday for doom2. when I was configuring the controls, I pressed the "delete" key on the "select" configuration tab (the one that when set to a different key, makes that key select stuff such as "new game" when the game first starts). anyway, when I did this, I was unable to make it a different key because the selection was now blank. because of this, there is no key specified as a "select" button. I cant start the game. can anyone help?

those were'nt so bad, but i think they could've kinda kept some originality with the doom I and II games. those games were pretty popular, and i honestly think that the doom 3 weapons would've been better if they stuck to a kinda doom IIish design.

yep... you got the same levels, the same athmosphere and the same feeling, but enhanced, I think of it like a modern version of Doom, not something that fucked it up, because if you think that the enhancements fucked up Doom, you always have the original DOS version which is, in my opinion the best for the rest of the times.
