  • why would they be fined for not having healthcare?

if they're gonna fine you for not having healthcare they may as well supply you with a healthcare by default. people will notice that problem and therefore the government won't fine for not having healthcare.

  • its not like im making this up, its in the bill.

  • funny thing about bills is, they can be edited

  • funny thing about bills over 1000 pages long they like to hide things in them so they get passed with it

  • then that is the fault of the bill passer if something is found and exploited the government can go back and change, if they hide something for their own benefit I'm afraid it'll be found

and if it's something as extreme as fining for not having health care then I'm afraid they wouldn't be able to hide it that well seeing as bills are examined heavily on a daily basis by hundreds of different lawyers and legislators

  • It wouldn't be the first type of insurance to be required.

As to taxing those with high incomes, it makes sense to place the greater part of taxes on those who can best afford to pay them.

  • they are already being taxed highly, so why increase that by 30%?

  • The other option I see is tariffs, but those generally fall on the lower classes.

  • lmfao you get punched in the eye bawlz?

  • just one

  • Nice shiner. :D

  • fuck obama and all you left wing tree hugging pot smoking hippie cunts

  • lol up here in canada we hug trees while smoking pot and getting free knee surgery chyea i wuv my country

  • @strudle91:do u guys really say "eh"after every sentence............eh

  • good points. good vid.

  • not at all

  • Now, while the cost is a big obstacle as to why this drive for a public health option is going slow, I personally believe the bigger issue is corruption. I support the drive for a public system, but if lobbying groups continue to have their way, nothing's going to improve. The two-party system as it stands now is a failure, especially now with Republican congressmembers seeming to focus on attacking the Dems rather than working with them.

Socialism isn't necessarily a bad thing, by the way.

  • also y is yo eye black dude

  • someone punched me

  • y is that dude a ass hat dude these ppl these days

  • also universal health care would probably prevent that much spreading of the swine flu epidemic and help more ppl out with cancer who doesn't have health insurance and can't pay for their stuff and are very broke they will be able to pay fo they surgeries instead of having to have fund raisers and stuff like that and what retarthamster said is correct we stop spending 6 billion in the war we have no buisness being in we wouldn't have to raise taxs and we wouldn't be in this much debt

  • Read my responses the the other two

  • well dude how i see it is no matter wat we do to healthcare there are always gonna be ppl saying no and ppl saying yes and well here is why it is good more spread out health care less days out of school and more time at work to go along wit that and here are the drawbacks the ppl who earn over 100,000 a year will be taxed that means middle class and up no matter wat well since it would be raised 10% there would be alot less of tax payed in the sales tax department since the country is broke

  • Dude, Canada has public health care, and high taxes. We're doing all right. When it comes down to it, the American economy has already taken heavy damage... This is a good thing, especially since everyone needs health care, so instead of fighting the best thing to happen to you guys in years, why don't you make the best of an awesome opportunity, and put you taxes towards saving lives, instead of war?

  • read my reply to hamster, also you may be a fan of high taxes and giving your money away, but I work hard for my money, and I should not have to pay for someone else' bills.

  • hay, well then why doesn't they US government quit spending 600 billion per year on the military, I mean come on man! Why aren't you argueing about how much the governement spends on a war they should never have been in?. If they drop the expendidures on the war effort, maybe they would need to raise taxs by so much

  • The taxes have not been raised due to the war effort, Ill admit the War's have caused us(United States) a great amount of debt, taxes have not been raised, however we cannot simply stop funding for the war just like that. you know what was a waste of money, the 11.5 TRILLION dollars used for the Bailout, all in less than a year.

  • Yeah, but the troops should have started pulling out of Iraq years ago. Anyway, my point is, Universal Health Care is NOT socialist buddy. I live in Australia, but I'm american, we have universal health care, yet Capitalism is still strong here. p.s yes emergency services won't turn you away, but ater they've helped you the say "GIVE US MONEY", here you walk in, get what needs to be done and walk out. Simple as that. Don't see how anyone could have a problem with that, other than taxs

  • i prefer boiled then deep fried winners coverd in bakon and eggs in a hot dog bread and what happend to ur eye

  • dude seriously, do you not understand the benefits of universal health care???? Raise taxs on the rich. Ohh boo hoo, poor rich people now they have to wait an extra month to get their BMW. Hypothetical question. You need a life saving surgery. Would you rather have increased taxs or pay $70'000 and anyways it's not like you have much choice now. Either you PAY for health insurance and you might get the surgery or have no health insurance and have to pay thousands for medical attention you need

  • why should the rich be taxed even more? the 5.4% tax could increase taxes on these people by 30% it does not even take into account inflation. Just because these people have all this money and we dont, this does not mean we can make them pay for this.I dont know about you but I like to work and EARN A LIVING. The government cannot run a business, look at the FED, Fannie may and Freddie mac, and Medicare and Medicaid are way into debt. How do you expect them to run a universal health care program?

  • Maybe your right, but you can't expect the lower income families to get heavier taxs, can you? Yes the more wealthy people are tax more heavily, but it's not like they'd struggle to scrap two cents together. Just asking, do you have anything against universal health care, or is it that you simply don't think the current governement could manage it?Fair enough if it is simply you think they government couldnt handle it, as long as your not arguing the benefits of universal health care

  • No you are correct on that, there are some people that sadly will never make it above the poverty line, in this case i support state run programs, but not federal run. My problem with Univeral health care it just brings us closer to socialist state. your other Q. what i said about medicare, caid, and Freddie and Fannie should be able to answer question, that no, the government cannot, nor should it manage the control healthcare. But i Do feel every person is entitled to live a Healthy life

  • Really?? Come on you really believe that bullshit that universal health care is socialist do you. Seriously, what about the police system. Technically that's socialist, you don't need police protection insurance, your taxs pay for the police, just like universal health care. Would you want to live in a place where you call 911 and they ask you if you have police protection insurance "Oops, sorry buddy, your policy doesn't cover murder". Dude come on, wake up.

  • Almost all if not all European coutries have universal health care, canada, australia,, pretty much every western countries has it, and soo far, no Fidel Castros or Lenins have been popping up. Come on, That's beyond paranoia to believe that socialism will rise again. All universal Health Care is, is a way of ensuring that everyone can get help when they are sick, so that it's not only the fortunate ones who get help.

  • Police are mainly funded locally by towns and cities. they are not federal agents, so not socialist. Also, most European countries are socialist, do not know what gave you the idea they are not. Also didnt you read my last response I SUPPORT STATE RUN PROGRAMS, NOT FEDERAL. Also your argument about "police tax" does not make sense, if you go to a hospital, or call an ambulance you cannot be turned away in an emergency situation. they are called EMERGENCY SERVICES for a reason

  • y u have a black eye

  • I know

  • no how u get it by fucking shit up!!!!!

  • A jedi hit me

  • was it by accident or on purpose?

  • on purpose

  • u beat the shit out of him

  • use the health care system canada has

it works pretty good. other than if you live in a small town. then it takes 4 hours to see a doctor.

and try plain milk chocolate on a pepperoni pizza. it tastes epic

  • who beat you up?( was it your cat?)

  • Yeah Lucky is to much of a boss

  • aaaaaaaaaah.... you shouldve said dusan mandic =(
