    Bilal Radwan Hajaig

  • Nice. Can you get another mobile TV working with jepp?

AND does it only work with Windows OS.thx

  • IT COST TOO MUCH :(

  • @FSProduction154 I agree but still a great product. Maybe Jepp will re package the subscription.

  • Ok so if I get it, you download the app for free on the market, and then you pay for jeppview?

  • @kembooo000 Correct.. Sorry for the delayed response.

  • Just curious Mike, cost?

Nice review, if you were like me on my review of Foreflight, took a couple of run throughs :-) to get the final product out the way I wanted.

  • @BeechSundowner Yea like 20 runs.. I even did a review of Foreflight that I still have to edit.

I think the cost for the northeast was $275.00 per year vs the paper charts of over $300, so for me it worked out okay. The Foreflight deal can't be beat for the price, but I love Jeppesen plates. They also send you CD's with the PC application for updating aviation gps and mfd systems. You can use the same SN on up to five devices.

  • Ouch! Dange, would have hoped it was cheaper in some fashion since it's not paper. Love hate relationship with Jepp plates. Either you love 'em or hate them (for the cost!).

I had to go NACO to keep costs down :-) and of course with ForeFlight, well, like you said, can't be beat, especially when you get weather, IFR and VFR charts and approach charts nationwide for 2/3 less then what you are paying for just the NE quadrant of the country in approach charts.

  • @BeechSundowner I actually have both (foreflight and Jepp) :-) I did a few back to back 60+ hour weeks to pay for it all.

  • Any pros for Jepp vs ForeFlight (other than Jepp approach chart preferences)

Watching your video, more cons then pros for Jepp Mobile if I was to decide.

One con as you pointed out being autosizing of the chart to fit full screen. Seem to be sloppy programming as all other programs I have used to view charts whether it was .PDF or Foreflight always came full size by default.

Also, when in fight, does the Jepp program detect nearest airport based on GPS position?

  • @BeechSundowner I think of them as two different products at different levels. ForeFlight (an awesome app that I also own) is a great consumer grade app while Jeppesen is more geared to the professional. Yes Fore Flight has NACO charts and it does organize them nicely so as I said before, if you like NACO go with ForeFlight. What you are paying for with Jeppesen (yes I agree a bit too much) is a professional level charting service. There is after all a reason the pros use Jepp.

  • @BeechSundowner As far as the autosize "issue", as stated in the video, I thought that might be an issue and even thought about returning the product, but after using it in flight I found that the larger font was perfect in the airplane. By default, the soft chart fits on the lateral access, but overruns a bit on the vertical. The departure procedure is a two page chart in the Jepp paper service so it is the same on the iPad. They really thought it out. I love it.

  • @BeechSundowner I also had to blank out my S/N. That took 10 image clips to cover the animated menu.

  • Nicely edited, I didn't really notice it.
