  • Whoever came up with this idea must have been high as fuck...

  • WTF????

  • Haha the tortex picks part made me laugh so hard! and @ryankuisti1 the intro is beautiful

  • Am I the only one wondering if he was wearing the traditional undergarments (looks like a diaper) under the Japanese outfit he's wandering around in at the beginning?

    Paul's always fun to watch.

  • 0:00 - 2:00 Paul is lost.

  • Paul's such a goofy bastard haha how can u not love the guy?

  • i want that guitar it'sso cool

  • ojala pudiera encontrar todo eso en el paso escondido jaja

  • que envidia quiero encontrarme todo eso en el pasto como paul gilbert.... jajaja

  • orgaaaasssmmm!!!!!!

  • Man, I've gotta find that tree!

  • damn at tortex picks..that was so funny..

  • 7:10 .... unfair....

  • actually... it's a bit more difficult to play it then how it seems on this video....

  • Do I need those amps to play like that????? jajaja too expensive

  • @carlomagno55 I find the best way to get a good tone is to focus on your guitar and your pedals. Ive played everything from Mesa-Boogie, to Marshall, to Matchless, to Peavey, all the way down to the cheapest solid state practice amp you can imagine, but as long as I have a decent guitar, and a top shelf overdrive pedal I can get my tone with just a few minutes of knob tweaking.

  • @bigfish0886 Excelent, thank you very much, it's very frustrating when the money is between you and the sound and feeling you want, what pedal do you recomend???

  • @carlomagno55 I'm currently using the VOX Ice 9 overdrive, but If you're on a tighter budget the Digitech Bad Monkey, Visual Sound Route 808, and the BOSS SD-1 are all great pedals.

  • @bigfish0886 Pauls tone is from the amp, his clean is actually based on a pedal that is essentially a reverse overdrive pedal.

  • @asdfcrow are you referring to the detox eq? very true. but his lead and rhythm tones are boosted.

  • Respond to this video...

  • That KISS lick was also used by John Frusciante in Dani California.

  • @Sahilontube - That Dani California solo is off the hook! Jimmy Page does his lick at 3:52 in Dazed and Confused (1969). That is the earliest manifestation of that lick that I can conjure up. Clapton may have done something like it with Cream in the mid-sixties. Great little blues rock lick; definitely not original to KISS, though.

  • he is the coolest guy alive

  • thot it said nipple straps there for a second

  • 7:15 The amplifier approves of his prowess and starts to rise towards the heavens. No joke.

  • paul's such a dork. it makes me so happy.

  • the intro and outro make me want to cry

  • ernie ball strings grow on the trees XD

  • damn! what a tone!

  • i wish the intro went on forever

  • It makes sense now; paul gilbert is a ronin guitarist.

  • Paul Loves Green Screens, can't imagine him at home

  • OMG he's not using his headphones!!!!

  • this is so fucking epic.

  • PAUL GILBERT SHOULD HAVE BEEN OZZY'S GUITARIST =/

  • @MrSilverDany Paul Gilbert should've been everyone's guitarist.

  • it's absolutely incredible seeing guitars and pedals in the wild like this, glad someone actually managed to find some footage of pedal families, strings and cables without human interaction

  • @Schpudd Indeed it is rare to find these when not raised in captivity

  • Everytime the background changed I went "HOLY SHIT!"

But In all seriousness, you rock Paul gilbert. I love you. (no homo)

  • Paul gilbert undoubtly is my favorite guitarist of the neo classical, shredder genre. I Love it! LOVE IT!

  • Strings really do grow from trees, paul told me.

  • So , Paul doesn't like eating food like us traditional humans.

  • those single coils are amazing!

  • How does he get such a clean yet distorted sound?

  • "There you have it". Yes, finally can I play this song. Yay

  • "I cant do that without making some rock and roll faces"

    Heheheh love it!

  • i wanna grow an ernie ball bush!

  • This is a fuckin awsome video and a fuckin awsome song, and an even fuckin..er (lol) guitar leson from the man himself.

What an awsome riff, and a killer execution of the runs and licks, such great phrasing. I always like Gilbert's raw dry tone he usually chooses to use during his lessons to because it really lets you hear what he's playing. Cheers, IC.

  • is that a 1960RR stack I see??????

  • 5:35 is where he does a mistake.... finally!!!! HES ACTUALLY A REAL PERSON

  • @yourtubesucks01

perhaps he did a fake mistake to prevent people from discoverying his true identity!

    lol

  • @Picurs Maybe so........ but without talking to him we will never know..... and its quite hard to talk to GOD these days aahahha

  • god this is so cheesy that it's awesome

  • I think that was by far the best intro I've ever seen!

I love how Paul's lessons are always instructive and funny as hell at the same time :D

Gotta love him for that, and of course for his playing. Go Paul!

  • Hmm, i always thought he used laney amps? :)

  • @jacka94 ...he used to

  • love the intro with the strings hanging from the tree and the pick under the rock. lol

  • Can somebody tell me the frets and strings of the 4th chord? I can't make it out.

  • geek but amazing

  • Comment removed

  • 2:17-3:47 BEHOLD A MAN WITH A METALLIC SOUL THAT BRINGS THE GUITAR TO LIFE AND POURS FIRE FROM THE AMPS. AWESOME.

over the top maybe but i just love that metal sound so much. Don't you?

  • he can shred plus he has good licks too.

  • Lol! Paul i'd love it if i could really find your gear lying around like that and growing on trees.....but where do we find the skills and 2 ring fingers minus a little finger? :D

  • Paul Gilbert rules !!!

  • this is 1 of my reason why i like the way PG play>> so clean.. every notes are being played cleared.. YEAH!!

  • Nice

  • love that comment about " makin rock n roll faces"

  • Wow...time to practise!

  • i would love to live there so beautiful where is it?

  • japan i presume

  • 5:12

FUCK! I just cummed on my pants...

  • @emanuelmiglio yep thats paul gilbert for ya :D the god of well everything lolz

  • how does paul have his nob up down or middle?

  • The best overdriven tone I have heard in a while in this video.

  • Paul is a Samuray of Guitar

  • @mario300577 Please, teach me MASTER!! :D

  • @mario300577 wow there captain obvious....

  • His pick is a rock :o

  • Paul rules! Love the white Marshall - Apparently Paul is sometimes using the Randy Rhoades 1959 model - with the cascade modification, where the tubes are wired in series instead of parallel for more gain. Looks like RR1959 is being discontinued and costs $4,000 anyway, so only way to get that sound may be to wire it up yourself. Search Marshall cascade modification for instructions. I plan on doing this to a JCM 800. Hopefully it won't blow the output transformers!

  • I'm so glad he stopped using Laney.

  • what pedal does paul use for his main overdrive/distortion?????

  • It's one of those Xotic pedals with the 4 knobs,I forget the name,I know that there's preamp in the name.

  • Xotic BB preamp?

  • I wish he wouldve covered the lick from 1:09 to 1:12

  • this is the best intro i've seen in my entire life.

  • I thought Paul used LANEY amps!!!! =O

  • 7:06 Jimmy page loves that riff :)

  • A Reversed Iceman...

I like that Soul-Bender Pedal Right There ...niice name xd

  • the main riff sounds a bit more "hard rock" than "heavy metal" although theres alot of overlap. Great composition. Thats an Iceman hes playing right?

  • It's called a "fireman", it's his new signature guitar. It looks like an iceman because the body design is flipped upside-down

  • Yeah thats one bad looking and sounding axe. Too bad they retail around 8k. They should make an affordable version for about 900$.

  • WTF?!?!?!?

    is with that intro

  • Paul gives the best lessons! Informative, entertaining, and just plain helpful!

  • i wanna learn that lick 3:06 - 3:08.... he used that lick a lot on his solos in the 80s

  • God i love paul. He's so random lol. I love how all his gear is scattered throughout the woods lol.

  • Funny how his tone hasn't changed much after switching from Laney to Marshall. I guess it's in his fingers.

  • Do I love this guy & the notes he makes ;)

Looks like mr Gilbert has visited the pages of mister fastfinger, at least the intro has some similarities.

    Go Paul Go !

  • Marshall Randy Rhoads signature

and his tapping is better than

the one of eddie van halen

  • RANDY RHOADS!!!!

  • in my opinion,Ibanez kicks ASS.i got the Ibanez SoundGear SR800 4-String Bass

  • I never owned an Ibanez yet they are my favorite

  • god his technique is so so good it looks almost impossible to mess anything up if you play like that lol

  • 7:10 omg <3

  • what is the little amp head?

  • wow that Randy Rhoads amp sounds killer

  • He used the Marshall Vintage Modern combo (2266C) for this album

  • love this dvd dearly, but the moving amps goof me up

  • i wonder if buckethead watches these vids from time to time?

  • man this guy could play with his armpit hair and still outshred almost all guitarists that are out there

  • paul is so brilliant, i can't even put it in words.

  • YES! after several months of searching, i have found living proof that paul gilbert is indeed....human. if you listen closely, somewhere between 5:33-5:36, paul makes a split-second mistake! long have i searched his godly instruction to find any indication as to his humanity, amidst all the rumors of him being a cyborg from the future, and finally, now, i may rest in peace......lol

  • oh come on, Paul human? he did it on purpose so we'd think he's human lol

  • @SandWraith123 From the E on the G string, B on the B string, C# on the E string

  • @SandWraith123 i've seen 1 or 2 vids where he kinda messes up sumthin and has to start it over. of course he gets it in the second try

  • @SandWraith123 you propably didn't hear the one from 3:02 - 3:05 :D

  • @SandWraith123 You fail to consider that paul is so godly that he knew you were watching at that moment and decided to fuck with you ; )

  • @SandWraith123 i saw him 2years ago when he was touring with satriani, he messed up during the second "verse" arpeggios all you could see him was mouth fuck ive messed up. then just kicked straight back into the song, as if he messed up on purpose

  • @SandWraith123 Where lol he killed it!

  • @SandWraith123 he did it on purpose to convince you he's human

  • @SandWraith123 Haha great comment, I found a biff of him a while go, check out the Scarrified video of him where hes in a space suit or whatever, the one where he's all "TAKE IT AWAY, MARCO!" and he biffs it one time in there. I nearly cried....but my soul is at peace.

  • @SandWraith123 there was a glitch in the matrix

  • @SandWraith123 "i have found living proof that paul gilbert is indeed....human" na mate he did it deliberately to throw you of the sent .. you where getting to close.

  • @SandWraith123 so now the question is: did he do it on purpose in order to mislead us into thinking he is human?

  • Wow, I could listen to a whole concert of just that riff in 7:10 . Paul is so awesome.

  • I really love the great humor sense of Paul ! and of course his music !! the samurai dress with the guitar on the back instead of a bow is great !!! :)))

  • What model of Marshall is that

  • Vintage Modern 2266C, love it

  • how does he get that thick of a sound with single coils?

  • what kind of effect is he using on the finger picking part?

  • Sounds like a Phaser

  • i luv paul gilbert dressing haha

  • 0:38 = I got that amp, love it

5:33 = reminds me Randy Rhoads on Mr Crowley

  • I have the exact same old school plug in the wall flanger.

  • i dont even play guitar i just think its a joy to watch paul play. :) i hope he never lays the guitar down.

  • I don't know how Paul keeps a straight face during this awesome intro. Long live our hero Paul Gilbert!

  • Paul Gilbert *o*

    \m/

  • He's so non selfish about sharing his guitar journey! Both Paul Gilbert and Greg Koch retain that sense of humour which is important to retain your sanity and sense of everything. Paul rocks.

  • what a cool guy.

  • I wish Ibanez made a guitar with this spec that the masses could afford. It has the scale and neck of a Gibson but sounds like a strat

  • i assure you, the neck is nothing like a gibson.

  • He is awesome and crazy

  • i this kind of guitar available in stores?

  • woot, paul in a kimono!

  • Hier text eingeben?

  • enter text here

  • Sick riff, sick solo, he's definitively an insane guitar player.

  • did paul just randomly go to google images and find random pictures to go behind him & the amp?

  • LOL!

  • oh man, him playing the intro as arpeggios at 7:40 sounded really pretty.

  • pure genius!! thanks for sharing this. I can listen to PG, Steve Morse and Michael Romeo tunes ALL DAY and hear something different every time.

  • You have a really good taste of music

  • Damn green screens are back

  • 2:10 ...I love you paul but....Thats kinda gay....LOL JK

  • his tone is fantastic

  • Maybe you should just stick to the ukelele.

  • Paul Gilbert the"Guitar Samurai"

  • such a nerd.

    but awesome

  • I wish those things grew on trees like in this video.. I would save a lot of money lol

  • ohhhhhh paul you hair is gonne

    a little jijiji

    = i you fan

  • PAUL GILBERT FREAKING ROCKS!

  • Japan is beautiful.

  • ahaha cool n_n

  • yeahh

  • What a thick sound of that guitar? When will Ibanez produce it?

  • They're selling it now. and you will be paying 9000$ if you want it.

  • woot :D

  • I kept picturing him with a bow and arrow at the beginning not a guitar...:)

  • Dane Cook wishes he looked like PG.

    :v

  • lol paul gilbert ftw

  • God

  • at 8:37 "big stretch!"

he's probably thinking to himself "yea....not for me"

  • as everyone have always said he's a fun guy and the best

  • hah. if you stop at 5:18 PG looks like hes saying. "Oh, Thank God I have these huge hands."

  • I've got the original DVD that Paul gave to me in a class :)

  • Please tell me where he gave you guitar lessons

  • if you get a VIP ticket for one of his concerts, you'll have a 1.15h class, t-shirt,bag,pick,dvd and cd from Paul. He also signed my guitar, he's a cool guy.

  • Very good ! vleu!!!!!!!!

  • haha he said durfeaning
