it doesnt really work with the skip 3 then skip two. on A, you played A (root) C# (tonic) and E (dominant). now, counting 3 up as you said would land you from a A on a C. Transitions from a 1-3-5 dosent work unless you take into the sharps and flats in the scale. This is one thing that really messed me up when trying to learn the piano a while ago. unless you take into account the sharps or flats in the key sig, youll most likley end up with a minor chord.
thank you SO much!! i've been playing piano for a few years, but i never knew the minors or majors at all!! i just read sheet music and played, like a robot!! although i excel in math, as it is one of my best subjects, i happened to stumble along this video! THANK YOU!!! now i can form any chords and play along with pretty much any song!! i was afraid that the only way to learn was to remember all of them, oh i was so relieved to hear there was a pattern for ALL of them! can't thank you enough!!
um... sorry, i just figured if i messed up a little then people wouldn't think that i was perfect or anything. cuz i mean, who else TRIES to mess up? =P i didn't try to mess up dude, it just happens...
I understand now....!
