  • how can anyone possibly dislike this video!? I love seeing videos of people who actually take care of their animals... as you can see in this video, it pays off! Dee Dee is such a sweety! She really does live in kisses... how cute is that?!

  • Awww!! I have two Quakers that are just like yours... so sweet and very talkative.. one gets a little grouchy sometimes but so do I... like mother like son ;DDDDD Your birdy is awesome ^_^

  • Omg I have a beutiful Blue Boy. His name is Sully. We start our day with he goes outside with me(on his own) I let him out and put him on the floor/ He knows where the door is. He will sit in front of the door until I let him out. We enjoy hanging out together in the morning time, thats our time to reconnect with eachother. He usually sits in his condo and screams Mommy and says whatcha dion? He is a joy to be with. I love this bird and he loves me just as much.

  • beautiful

  • This bird... LIVES ON KISSES! She's so polite, too!

  • Apologies if this has been asked but how old is she in this? How long before she really started talking?

  • @panterameetsrebel

She was talking quite a bit within the first year. She was 3 mos when we brought her home and she knew how to kiss.

  • I love you and your baby! im planning on getting myself a quaker in a few months. she loves you so much! so adorable! how did you get her to give you such cute kisses????

  • @LexieStegman

Thank you! She is so sweet and funny. She came home from the breeder already knowing how to give a kiss kiss. But she has gotten quite smoochy! I make sure to give her a kiss whenever I walk into the room with her cage. She runs over to a nice perching rock to kiss me!

  • Fantastic!!! That's so beautiful. I can see how much you love each other. Sweet!

  • do you still have that quaker parrot cause when i am sad i just look at this video and smile

  • do you no a man named michal falkner

  • Thanks alot for sharing, ive had 2 quaker birds die so far and its really hard when u have to let go. Thank you for sharing and this brings alot of memories of my old birds. They didnt talk but my bird new when it was time to sleep, she would sleep outside the cage wrapped around with a blanket. thank you

  • This is the cutest video! Little Dee Dee even gets the motions down pat, too! How darling!

  • We got her from a breeder and she was hand raised, so we earned her trust quickly and settled into a routine within a week or so. I think she's really smart, but she's the first bird i've had a relationship with, so I'm not an expert. She does learn things on her own from observation, like she says "bye bye dee dee" when she sees me turn off a light switch.

  • How smart are quakers on a scale from 1 to 10?

  • how long did it take you to earn your parrots trust

  • She is sooooo sweet and she reminds me of my sweet girl sadie who I had to have euthinized because of a tumor in her chest...thanks for sharing!

  • You have such a sweet little bird who want's to keep playing and talking, why are you shutting her away in her cage?

  • Thank you to all of you kind posters! I can't believe how many people have taken a look at this little video! Dee Dee is still talking and squawking away. She now sings "Twinkle Twinkle little star" and Meows. I better try to get that on video too!

  • LMAO!!! This is so cute, haha

  • We've had our bird for several months and the only things she's picked up is a clicking noise and whistle.

  • hi all great vid! i am going to buy a quaker and i wanted to know were to get one

    thanks :)

  • What a sweet little Quaker she is! Obviously loved very much. :)

  • I am totally in love with your bird!!!! She is soooo beautiful!!!!!!

  • @ItsPaperDontJudgeMe

Thank you! she's a sweetie pie

  • i have a bird like that. but she plucks her feathers. do you know how to help me to get her to stop?

  • @psycopath8

When birds pluck their feathers, it means that they are bored and need more attention. But it can turn in to a serious matter. If they get too bored, they might get Quaker Mutilation Syndrome, which is when they bite their skin. If you notice it doing that, see a vet immediately. Try to give it more attention before anything serious like that happens

  • @CATSwhoFLY

    thanks for that info!

  • He gives me kisses, rubs my cheek with his. One day I was exercising and counting and from then on when I say "ready" and start counting, he raises his wings like he is exercising and makes a noise like he's counting.

  • One day I was getting food for my cockatiels and I saw "Jake". Someone had dropped him off, my guess is because he had biting issues. For a few days I thought about him and went back and got him and am so glad I did. He doesn't talk like Kiki did but he understands EVERYTHING I say.

  • @quakerlover62

    they are so smart!

  • That is so sweet. I had a quaker (Kiki) who passed away a few years ago. She was my baby. She talked, gave kisses and played peek-a-boo. I swore I would never get another one.

  • he's gorgeous

  • thats so cute my quaker only knows how to say uh-oh, Hello and hahah

  • awesome bird

  • quakers are awesome,my quakers name was showie and he lived to be 27 years old, very smart birds, and he was even potty trained

  • mines died yestersday aww man but mines was very how do i say it had alot of self defence he will come to bit you if you were neaer him and when you messed with him to much he will just get all tired god i miss his evilness and he used to do high tone singing voice and low too he drowned in a cup of water in his cage my mom find it weird and says tht maybe a person was going to die and the forces took him intead because he was drinnking in tht cup 4 evr the cup is 4 inches tall and3widenotbig

  • six years ago I had a bird, but I could not for the life of me remember the species. I stumbled on your video, and at last, I remember...It was a quaker. Thank you soo much. That bird died years ago but...I'd like to get one again. Now I know what it is.

  • I wis my little quaker kissed me... let alone stfu for 2 minutes

  • VERY SWEET !..I can SO see you love her..

  • I miss my quaker, Stanley. He was a talkative sweet bird, but developed a brain tumor or had a stroke (we're not sure).

  • Oh, how sad. Sorry to hear that.

  • @Lynnealbright its so cute whe it kisses. its so cute how it comes half way lol

  • @TYMMCHN

We lost two Quakers. We were never sure why we lost them. The vets were not sure, but we love Quakers. we have one now called Shamrock.

  • @TYMMCHN damn. i lost my dog joey last year. it liked to killed me

  • @TYMMCHN damn. i know how you feel i lost my dog joey last december. i still ain't over it either. the pain

  • That was just so sweet it made me cry! lol.. I love it!

  • How adorable:) She loves her mommy!

  • @dgross563 It`s the only one!

  • my bird Mojo looks just like that but he won't say that. ill try. so cute!

  • This is sooo beyond cute!! "I love you" and the kiss - too precious!!

  • Looks like me...standing by the cage, bobbing up and down, saying/singin the SAME thing over and over again, and when FINALLY me sennie says something, i CELEBRATE!! What fun birds are!

  • She is so adorable! :)

  • ive had all of the above birds, in my personal opinion the hardest to rear was the cockatiel, very nippy and agressive from the get- go. quaker being the easiest but require alot of time and care. Love birds are better in pairs.

  • cage size is about 2 ft wide by 3 feet high, plus the play space at the top and the raised bottom.

  • this is really cute

i have a senegal parrot since 3 day's i hope i'll get him to talk like this :p

  • what is the dimension of ur bird cage? it looks like exactly like mine but ur s looks bigger

  • Thank you for sharing your video. I have a Quaker named Two-Two. She loves me like yours loves you. The best pet I've ever had.

  • Agree! I personally, will never have empty nest syndrome!

  • What a sweetheart!

  • Quaker/Cockatiel/Lovebird

Who is easier to tame, handle and care for?

    Who bites less?

    Who talks more clearly?

    Plz reply. Thank you.

  • Hi there, I never had a cocatiel or Lovebird, so I can't really compare, but when we were looking, we were comparing cockatiels to quakers. We really wanted a talker, so we went with the quaker. However, they are prone to attaching more strongly to one person in the family, so the kids have to work hard to keep her affection! I think cockatiels love everyone more....sorry I don't know more, but Dee Dee is my first bird, but not my last!

  • love bird- easiest

    quaker- needs lots of time

    cocktiel-hardest

  • wrong. how on god's earth do you come up with a cockatiel being the hardest??? your just a lil twisted there. A cockatiel easier than a quaker. sorry.

  • lovebirds get lonely without mates, so if you have a single one they become dependant and clingy which isnt good if you dont have alot of time to spare or go away for long periods of time, cockatiels can be agressive and nippy but make ok pets, but dont talk. Quakers are friendly and do well singular, also can learn to talk and are quick( er) to tame. They can be somewhat emotional like cockatiels so you have to be patient and loving with them.

  • Quakers can be easily scared. I had a very sweet Quaker who changed when a stranger picked on her. Dee Dee is very cute. She reminds me of my darling Corkey I had.

  • i just recently got a 5 and half months old quaker and i realli love him but i need some help on how to get him to not be scared of me and any tips on the best diet? he is takin nuts out of my hand but onli if i basically put the nut on his beak what do i do

  • be patient, basically just sit by him for couple hours a day not pressuring him or anything and just talk to him, eventually should warm up to you, just gotta give him time

  • is so nice is cute

  • That's an amazing story! Thanks for sharing it! I'm trying to get Dee Dee to perform again so beautifully, but she won't say too much when I'm doing the videography. My sister took this video and that's why she went on and on like that. Dee Dee is absolutely delightful!

  • That is just SO cute I loved it .Did you know I was reading on the internet and A bird just like yours saved a child that was chokeing ? it screamed Baby mommy something like that and the babysitter save the baby that was already turning blue .They are very smart.5/5***** FANTASTIC BIRD you bet.

  • wow!! i never smiled so much! SOOO cute.AH!

  • a bird well taken care of by her owner! you can tell by how relaxed the quaker is and the kisses he is giving. good job!

  • This is such a good video of a quaker parrot!! wow!! you should put mor like this one..

  • I've seen Yoshi!!!! What a cutie pie!

  • i have a quaker his name is yoshi

  • AW!!!!!! What a sweet lil cutiee!!

  • now teach him disestablishmentarianism :)

  • funny! We're working on "I thought I saw a puddy tat!"

  • Come on now! Even I can say that word, don't make that poor bird to learn that complicated word! :) Anyway, your parrot is adorable, funny and inteligent.

  • Thank you! She's working on "Twinkle Twinkle little star" and "I thought I saw a puddy tat" now.....it takes time but she's getting it. She's on my shoulder right now watching you tube videos of other birds!

  • Okay now I'm jealous.....a bird can say a word that i can't j/p lol!!!

  • ok. so how long does it take for mine to talk if they are going to. any idea? mine will step up and leave cage nicely. and go back nicely. i have been working on petting,. it is slow going. thanks. i love urs. she is pretty and sweet. good for you both.

  • I'm not an expert, but ours started talking pretty quickly. For sure by 6 months. it takes her a few weeks to learn something new. Sounds like you and your baby are on the right track! Good luck!

  • @juliejo39 I have a cockatiel and when he was a baby I taught him all sorts of stuff. Now that he's older he won't learn anything new. :(

  • @juliejo39 I think I heard that it could take around 6 months to a year.

  • i used to have a quaker then it flew away in to a forest =(

  • She's pretty! How old is she?

  • He's almost 2 and a half now. She's a pretty quick learner!

  • Ya done good with her mama! LOL ... She's absolutely a joy for us to watch!

  • I have one. It is a female, it doesnt speak, and it seems to hate everyone. I wonder why...

  • haha thats amazing, ive been trying to teach my conure that word forever...she just says 'Uper'

  • its so cute

  • aw.........that was cuteee.

  • i am just waiting for my quaker to wean!! i am soooo excited!! urs is just adorable!

  • She certainly has her squauky moments! I really do love her. She just makes me laugh. This weekend we took her to a cottage for the first time. She was a lovely little guest and caused no problems. She was quieter than normal, but no trouble! She immitated the owners coughing. So funny. But during a rainstorm, there was a leak and it happened to be in her cage and she freaked out!

  • lucky birdy to have such a loving mommy :) see that's how sweet birds turn out when they get lots of love and attention.

  • omg!!! he's actually saying all of it! ahhaha that's awesome! what a cutiepie!!

  • Thats a calm quaker parrot!

  • Sweet quaker. She is so intelligent. I didn't know that the females can make excellent talkers.

  • how come when I'm trying to train my quaker to say anything long, he'll completely miss the first part, but says the second part like he's answering a question?

  • I don't know - she's my first bird so my only experience is with her! But when I worked on this, I kept starting from the beginning and adding on - I didn't start in the middle. Now we're working on "twinkle twinkle little star" and we're working on it the same way. Good luck!

  • no but I'm trying to teach him to say the whole thing, like we tried to teach him to say, here kitty kitty kitty, and when your say here, he says the kitty kitty kitty, doesn't really matter wither way its adorable

  • Oh and do they try to build nests?

  • I've heard they do. She's definitely female, but I haven't noticed any of that nest building behaviour yet. One other funny thing...I've been watching the Larry Sanders DVD and she picked up "Hey Now!" from the tv!

  • Mine is female. She is 9 & she never tried to build a nest either. She only recently started laying eggs. (Infertile, no male). I guess each has their own individual quirks, LOL. She didn't start talking til she was 2 or 3.

  • Thanks - I just love this little bird so much. I never had a pet bird like this and can't believe how much fun she is and how rewarding the relationship is. I think I will have a bird for the rest of my life! The funniest thing she has done lately is mimic us coughing and also the phone tones when it's on speaker (the number sounds). She always makes us laugh!

  • i love the last line 'watch ur little head''

  • i have the exact same cage! lol

  • He's a real smoocher.

  • That's so cute that all of our little birdies can be friends!! Dee Dee hears this now and is chirping too! She's now working on "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star - How I wonder what you are".

  • How adorable! My Quaker, Svetti is 33 years old and loved watching your video--thanks!

  • while i was watching this vid i had my bird by me and she kept saying step up and good girl to the video

  • We got her from a breeder

  • You both are so lucky to have each other!

  • where did you get her? she's adorable.

  • aww thats so sweet! your so good with her! you can tell she loves you!

  • aww how cute!!

  • Her new phrases lately are, "you're a sweetie pie", "you're my baby" and ..... "bababooie"! She's also been continuiing to yell at our oldest son to "get the milk"! He drinks a lot of milk and rarely replaces the last milk!

  • omg so cute

  • Aw, how cute! I wish mine would quit squawking at me!

  • One more thing, your bird says "good girl" and "thank you" exactly like my Jade! That's so cute!

  • she is just precious, smart little baby!! Keep up the good work.

  • How many times did u say it a day b4 it learned that?

  • It took about 3 weeks before she learned the whole thing. She got half of it pretty quickly!!

  • It took Dee Dee about three weeks to learn this! She blabs all day long and says it unprompted regularly...until the video camera comes out! This was the first time we got it on tape!!
