That first one is a very nice one. I caught one that size on a Rapala DT-4 once completely by accident while bass fishing. His mouth was huge.

i have only once caught a perch on a tip-up and I was pissed because I thought it was a northern,and it was only 7" and bit on a 2.5" shiner

the smallest perch i caght was 10 inch but the biggest was 17 inch where i fish and they bite on pike minnows the huge ones lol same thing happened to me i thought i had a small pike but it was a big 15 in on a tip up but u had a funny story

Is there a hopatcong and a pohatcong? NJ never made much sense to me, being from PA.
@KB3GZW yes there is both. dont know of a lake pohatcong though. Lake hopatcong is the head waters for the musconetcong river.

sometimes, it can be frustrating. Some tip-ups have an adjustment to make them harder to trip, also treble hooks can help too.
ah unfortunately treble hooks are out lawed in Alberta the closest we can get is double
