Just got this camera. It records sound -- in stereo even. Sound quality seems good -- do a google search on "v1253 video samples" for some examples. The videos have a stereo audio track encoded with mu-law at 16kHz.
One thing that people have been complaining about -- when you use the zoom while recording a video, the noise of the zoom motor is clearly audible. Personally, I don't mind it.
how do you like that camera? I'm thinking of getting it this weekend. I've just heard so many different things about it, either real positive and real negative.
After you install the firmware update alot of the issues are fixed. the camera still does freeze sometimes when i switch to video, or sometimes after i film something. Not enough to be a real problem, and all you do is pop the battery out if it happens..thats the only thing i can think of.. overall its a fantastic camera glad i bought it.
such a good video but needs to be way longer!! :S

Check out the Kodak forum on dpreview dot com. I think some people there mentioned liking the Transcend 8GB SDHC.
