  • ..the one @ 3.39 is Yaho by the Viceroys..

    ..The otherone I dont know..

  • The One @ 4:06 is part of the first ten seconds of the song "Forward Ever" from the "Jacob 'Killer' Miller" LP (1977). The actually partially right and rehearse the song on this documentary.

  • I´n´I see the light trough music!! vibration man, rastafari!!

selassie son, clinton fearon has an instint to the music man, god bless him. jah live!!

what a rilich video, ueaaa, rilich ma bretha

  • Ex-Gladiator Clinton Fearon (the man in the white shirt and grey vest in this video singing those sweet high notes) definitely has an instinct for the music!

    Amen, my brother!

  • Jah works, Jah works, Jah works Jah works I'm a man of fire (-ooh -ooh -ooh ) None of my doings shall never go wrong Jah hear I when I cry Jah hear I when I cry 'Cause I'm a great meditator Yes, I'm a great meditator Wicked a roar like a roaming lion (-ooh ooh -ooh ooh) Trying to destroy thy sons and daughters Although I trad thru the valley of Babylon Although I trad thru the valley of those wicked man I will fear no evil for thou art with me from the beginning Till this day on On an' on an' on
  • Doesn't the guy at the controlls at 2:20 look like 50 Cent?

    RIP Joe Gibbs.

  • Yes I!! This is an of the greatest rootsreggae-groups. Loving it.

Great footage from an really good documentary!! All the old roots artist are on it.

  • does anyone know the name of the artist and song that starts in randy's at 3:39 and plays for about 10 seconds? it sounds like they're repeating "jah hope, jah hope, jah hope", not sure though.

  • It is a direct descendant of "Yaho" by The Viceroys. Outside of that I don't know.

  • Gladiators retake of Ya Ho called Jah O, which features the wicked DJ version by Trinity on the flip. Tony Robinson production I believe.

  • do you know if that song available on a comp or cd of some kind (so i don't have to pay an arm and a leg on ebay for a single)?

also, would you suggest "trench town mix up", "proverbial reggae" or a different release as a first gladiators purchase?

  • As a first gladiators purchase i would recommend "trenchtown mix up" (hearsay, hello carol, etc) it has all the classics almost, if you can find the "back to roots" record, it exists on CD, you'll find (to my taste) their best work! Regarding the song Viceroys - Yaho if you look enough on ebay you'll come across a fairly cheap press at some point.....

  • This is the footage that made me fall in love with the sounds of the Gladiators, and unknowingly Joe Gibbs. RIP Gibbs.

  • 2:00 is awesome !!!

  • Check Clinton Fearon's work these days! New Roots Reggae! Live from Seattle...

  • JAH WORKS right here! I hear you sister; Clinton Fearon (the Gladiator in the white shirt and vest in this clip hittin those sweet high notes) is one of the few original roots reggae artists still putting out amazing new songs today. Much respect to The Gladiators then and now, as a group and as solo artists, they keep the FYA BURNIN'!!

  • JAH bless trenchtown

  • Great !

  • Muito fodaaaaaaaaa The Gladiators =]

  • spirit, soul, and god are beyond culture, race, or nationality. Culture can help us understand the nature of such things but let us not forget the non-denominational, non-idealogical, soul that exists naturally even without religion.

jah within i! one love one heart
