Never thought I'd hear that kind of horn on an LRV. Does the same set of grade crossing signals operate for both the light rail and railroad crossings?
As far as I can tell the Trolley never sounds its horn in the video... The only horn you hear is the Amtrak. Yes, the same warning Signals operate for the Trolleys and Trains.

Eliminate all the grade crossings and it will be much safer for the trains and automobiles. Also the trains willnot have to blast there horns and ring the bells.
If you wanna fund a project to trench the entire railroad Right of Way between Old Town and Downtown Stations (including the station platforms) while simultaneously explaining to residents and commuters why Downtown is split in half, the trains can't got through into the city, and the traffic's so bad (or if you have an idea to eliminate all those problems) I'll even listen to ya! Just impractical to do it all today.

I have a residence that I lease at the Pinnacle Centre that is next to that station. San Diego is horrible for those grade crossings. They should either elevate or trench/underground all railroad.
I'm gonna say this and be done: Why did you get a residence right next to the tracks just to complain? The tracks have been there for over 100 years, the condos have been there no more then 5. It's not like it would be an easy project to do & it was obvious what you were getting yourself in to. I live right next to a fire station; After some sleepless nights I got used to it and moved on rather then writing the city and holding meetings telling the city to "Quiet the sirens or move the station"
I would counter that statement. San Diego has some of the stupidest PEOPLE in the world, they just run in front of the train. There are plenty of 3rd world countries with WAY worse crossings.
Great video. I saw this vid before but wasn't a member. I found it again. This is one of the best videos I've ever seen. You even got a light rail train too!
You could have seen me... I filmed this twice, on two different days from two different angles (same train equipment). This particular video though I set the camera down and talked to a group of people 20 feet away (you can hear us gabbing in the background) so you probably saw me the second time.
I like the plane in the background at 2:01!!

If you don't like the trains, then MOVE!!!!! That rail line was there over 100 years before you moved downtown! It was there first!
