  • BEAUTIFUL! And so are the macaws ;)

  • I'm waiting 10 years before I get a macaw bird. In that time, I'm going to read books, watch videos, and work at aviaries. Hopefully by then I can trust myself enough to raise one.

Plus I already have parakeets so they are a great way to learn.

  • @mafatu32 great way to take it one step at a time! you will be a great owner when you get one if u do those things!

  • oh so great movie !!! three amazon parots :) you have a nice movies !!!!!! negative reactions send to hell ! greeting Marek from Czech republik.. I have two parots jacko gray :-)

  • These Birds are highly intelligent. Teaching them some tricks is good to keep them healthy . They need a duty. In the rainforrest they must be clever to find enough food but hatched by humans they have no struggle for nurrishment and get their food for free. If you teach them some tricks they could put their natural efforts in the tricks and not in the struggle for food :. I like these pretty birds !

  • what mix is a camelot macaw? and what are some other mixes? i know there is a shamrock and a harlequinn but i can never remember what makes each one. do you know?

  • @lalaloverstouch Camelot is a second generation hybrid between a Scarlet and a Catalina, the Catalina is a first gen hybrid between a Scarlet and Blue & Gold. So basically a Camelot is 3/4 scarlet, and 1/4 blue & gold. They're somewhat common and their actual coloring can vary quite a bit.

  • @PoeticRamblings lol well said my friend. Well said.

  • Beautiful baby macaws! :) I'm assuming they're babies anyway, from the slow head bobbing and the constant feeding calls. xD

  • Haha they kinda sound like seaguls

  • why would anyone want these as pets? :<

  • @depdesu Because they are beautiful ! I own a sun conure and she is the sweetest bird ever ! =P I just wish she didn't hate cameras so much.

  • @x3Shantastic They're not beautiful though, that's what you bird owners don't understand. to everyone else they're disgusting glorified dinosaurs. They crap everywhere. bite and attack even the ones that feed them not to mention strangers. live their entire lives locked in a cage, not exactly the way I would want a dog or a cat to live out their 90 year life spans. they're stupid and are only attributed intelligence because they can physically mimic human sounds no differently than bird calls.

  • Wow, what hatred. What, did you poke a cockatoo when you were little and get your finger bitten off or something?

  • @depdesu They are beautiful =) Whether it is a dog or a bird, there's still a chance of it biting you. All that matters is how you treat them. Plus, dogs or cats can't bond to their owners as much as birds can. Sure, she doesn't get to fly around in the trees and such, but we never confine her to her cage. It's open and she can leave and enter as she pleases, but she'd mostly rather just stay on me and cuddle in my hair. Intelligence matters on how you treat them also.. Just like any animal.

  • @x3Shantastic what do you mean by "bonding" with their owners more? From what I understand parrots only tolerate one person and hate everyone else. I just really don't like pet birds, for some reason they creep me out. It's comparable to someone being scared of bugs. When I see a pet parrot I just want to grab it and throw it against a wall like a baseball or something, just like another person would squash a bug. :S

  • @depdesu Haha, it's not being tolerated. They literally love their owner. =P My conure is to the point where he thinks of me as just another bird because me petting her triggered her ''mating'' feeling and ended up laying an egg yesterday. It's not gonna hatch though of course. =P

  • I had a rant... but i ran out of room. So i'm jsut gonna leave it at this: Birds can be potty trained just like a dog, and if they're socialized like any other pet would be, they usually dont bite. Any good woner lets their birds out for hours a day, some even give them free roam of the house. They do more than mimic sounds, they understand what they're saying and can hold a conversation. Google Alex the parrot.. birds have the mental capacity of a human toddler, that is scientific fact.

  • @ihearthatalot Even if the owner gives the birds "free roam" they are still too stupid to do anything but sit on top of their cage all day anyway. Hold conversations, are you serious? Alex the bird was trained 12 hours a day in multiple shifts its entire life. Conditioning any animal to positive reinforcement with food is nothing special, just so happens this African Grey can mimic human sounds. It seems to me that parrot owners attribute a lot of intelligence to these disgusting filthy birds.

  • @depdesu Yes, they can carry a conversation. You have to teach them to talk obviously but you even have to do that with toddlers if you say bottle everytime you give a kid a bottle its gonna pick up on that And say bottle when it wants a bottle its the same thing with parrots If you say hi everytime you walk into a room its going to know that Hi is a greeting and that can turn into How are you? and it answer good, and so on. Even people need to be trained, you seem to forget that.

  • @ihearthatalot That's not a cognitive conversation you're just conditioning the bird's tiny little brain to make bird calls that resemble human speech. Parrots are disgusting, awful pets and I wish you would all realize that.

  • @depdesu you're missing my point, How would a human child, know what to say in a certain situation if it wasn't taught what words mean? I'm comparing birds to toddlers, not adults with your superior intellect -.- What I've told you is fact, what you've told me is opinion. For what it's worth, I'm a vet assistant, specializing in avian/exotic medicine. Birds are my life, arguing with me about birds is like arguing wtih me about my gender. It doesnt work. I need another comment..so this is part 1

  • @ihearthatalot comparing parrot's birdbrains to toddlers is subjective too and not fact like you claim. You attribute intelligence to parrots on inferences you've made through anthropomorphism. Birds don't comprehend a god damn thing, they're just instinctively designed to respond to recognizable stimuli with sounds. Parrots are so gross. They regurgitate constantly excuse me, show affection constantly. Attack anyone that isn't their chosen 'mate' and crap everywhere. Glorified dinosaurs...

  • @depdesu we've already been through all this unless you teach them not to any dog will crap all over the place and so would a human if you wanna go that route next time you have a baby dont potty train them or put them in a diaper and see what happens. and the chosen "mate" would always be the favorite but if socialized properly like any other pet will not attack w/o reason And it IS fact clearly you didn't research any of the info. I've given you and if you did you need to check your sources

  • @ihearthatalot I have done research in an attempt to get over my hatred for large parrots. However the more research I do, the more I learn how awful they are as pets. The only way to manipulate their tiny little brains to stop bad behavior is to ignore it. So tell me, how the hell can you ignore a bird flying or running at another person and attacking them? I know a family with 5 large parrots and I can't get near any of them without being bitten. Birds should be in the wild not in cages.

  • @depdesu You ignore the behavior, because if you yell at them, or tell them to stop. You're giving them attention. Thats all they want, is your attention. You ignore it because "their tiny little brains" are smart enough to realise that if you tell them to stop, or yell at them, that behavior gets them attention. They are also smart enough to realise you're afraid of them, and use it to their advantage thats your entire problem. My bird has gone to a complete stranger before (part 1)

  • @depdesu and let them do things to him that I can't even do yet. Why? because when i first got him, he bit me, and although I'm not afraid of him persay, I am aware of what he could do if he wanted to. The stranger was ignorant to the fact that if he wanted to he could easily hurt her. And because she wasn't the least be afraid or cautious of him, he was as sweet as he could be. They dont like you, because you dont like them. And they know that. (part 2)

  • @depdesu (part 2) I'm not trying to tell you you HAVE to like parrots, but to deny their intelligence based on whatever reason you have for hating them so much, no matter how much fact is out there, is ignorant.

  • @ihearthatalot Why do parrot owners think it's so funny when other people get attacked by them? I'm glad to hear that keeping your parrot locked in a cage and being it's only source of food has allowed it's tiny birdbrain to comprehend how much adores you. Surely you're not manipulating it's instinctual behaviors and attributing some form of cognitive thought representative of humans. I'm happy you've found a way to justify keeping a feral animal locked in a cage for your own enjoyment.

  • @depdesu But i dont keep my bird locked up, thats the point. He sleeps in his cage, becasue he wants to, his door is always open and he only poops in the cage. And alot of people do the same thing, and if they dont they atleast let there birds out for a few hours. And it isn't funny when people get "attacked" i might chuckle if it was you but thats w/e. Birds are animals of prey they dont just attack for no reason (part 1... )

  • @depdesu How amny people have been kileld by a (maximum) 3lb bird? None, that ik of. How many peopel ahve been killed by being mauled my "mans best freind"? Think about it. Idk what kind of traumatising experience you've had with a bird, but I assure you it isnt the norm, and you need to get over it. I've given you the facts, but there are exceptiosn to the rule, just like people can be violent by nature, so can a very few numbers of birds, that doesnt make them dumb, which was my original point

  • @ihearthatalot Don't mind me, I just really, really hate large parrots. I mean, I absolutely cannot stand my girlfriend's amazon and this is the only place for me to vent I just wish that you bird lovers would realize that not everyone thinks they're cute or funny. In fact, some people like me, find them absolutely revolting. I've tried really hard to 'get over it' like you mentioned but the more I try the worse I dislike them. ugh, GROSS! they're so nasty! ewwwwwww! Listen guy, they're gross.

  • @depdesu I understand that, that wasnt the issue, but jsut because you dont like them, doesn't mean they're stupid. You're opinion of them doesnt effect their intelligence. You cant look at the studies that have been done on parrots and justify them being stupid. And like i said before, they dont like you because they know you dont like them, if you could get over your hatred of them, I'm sure that you'd have much less violent experiences with them.

  • @depdesu

i have read the whole conversation...watch?v=R6KvPN_Wt8I

  • would your parrots get angry if you brought home a boy? haha

  • lol they have hiccups

  • Love them, how do you keep them from fighting for your affection?

  • I'm jealous

  • I want a macaw, but for now just a cockatiel :D But he is unbelievably sweet.

  • I want to spend some Quality Time with you.

  • lol though my birds are much smaller they behave similarly. They especially do that twitiching thing when they are... making eggs

  • too cute. :) i love birds. these guys have got to be at the youngest 1-3 months? i hope im right. havent had a baby bird in years. :P

  • theyre beautiful,god bless

  • how does that screech not hurt your ear? Do u have ear plugs? LOL

  • beautiful!! how old were they when you started recall and free-flight training?? They still have baby eyes here..

  • WOW you have so many! XD

    what type are they?

  • haha they are like fanning you cuz they like flap their wings every somethin seconds! and i love your haircut haha ^.^

  • OHHHH cute

  • I did not realize that there were three birds at first i was like oh cool two of them.

  • Jamie is pretty

  • why do they flinch

  • you need 3 hands for this job

  • You have to spend lots of time for the parrots. And if you have sensitive ears, then don´t get a birdie... But great, how you care for the animals.

  • The macaw on her shoulder is the most gorgeous color ever!

  • Cute babies.

  • They must have been pretty young in this there behavior seems like they just got off weening.

  • i own a greenwing and he is very sweet tempered but he also gets very moody. all birds have different personalities :)

  • Why do the screach like that?

  • @Magnatud10 That's how they like it?

  • @Magnatud10 cause they are still babies

  • aww your birds are soo adorable!

  • Is there a large difference in affection levels between different types of macaw? I read on one site that a greenwing macaw is the most sweet tempered. What is your opinion on it?

  • Many people say so. I think it's all about how you raise them. From my experience, blue throated macaws and blue and gold macaws have been the best tempered.

  • Thanks so much, I know you guys are busy. Hope you're enjoying yourself on the road. Loved the new videos.

  • i wish i was one of your birds

  • hahaha its so funny how they give out a little scream every 3 seconds or so, why do they do that? lol its like the hiccups haha but permanent for them! :P

and comet is always bobbing his head up and down ahha too cute.

  • @Nickleforasong It means they want attention most birds do that, my sun conure does that, and the head bobbing is natural to babies.

  • @Nickleforasong it's cuz they are handfeeding babies and it's a thing that babies have a tendency to do especially before or after eating. i used to hand raise birds and they would always do that even after you fed them.

  • @Nickleforasong They're just communicating, like "Hey, hey, hey, what's going on? I love this. Hey." Kind of.

Birds bob their heads when they're happy ^^

  • @Nickleforasong they look like babies. babies will do that sometimes it's really cute haha

  • Nice baby macaws. I saw in another video them flying outside. How did you teach them that, be careful...Oh, I have 20 macaws, Too cool, Mike

  • the birds are gorgeous by the way

  • can u explain the types of macaws to me?

    i am interested...thanks

  • two camelot macaws and one blue throated macaw :)

  • سبحان الله الذي ابدع في خلقه
