  • Don't need the denim, or the shoes, or the hair..just bring the fucken metal!!!!

  • @goldenlarry The hair is more or less part of metal :)

  • @donSparda If you think that, I say that you're a idiot...Metal isn't a image, Metal is an attitude...Metal doesn't need Hair to be Metal...

  • @MetalWarrior95

Consider the fact that the first metal bands had long hair and were headbangers, i`d say it was a part of it, although i don`t have long hair, i consider myself very metal.

True, metal doesn`t NEED hair, but it helps, atleast i feel that.

  • Everytime I'm online and I want some thrash hit I come to this video on youtube... the real deal!

  • This is thrash...

    goes far beyond Slayer,Kreator,Exodus etc..!

  • i don't like it, well, i don't like thrash metal at all

  • @spenlaub suck my thrash metal dick

  • Darkness Descends!

  • at 3:45 in the crowd, on the right there is a guy facing the camera who looks exactly like CHE GUEVARA!!! lol

  • Gene Hoglan was one bad ass drummer.

  • Is this the same bill as Forbidden ? I think they played right before Dark Angel, might be mistaken though.

  • Yeah Dark Angel Downey Thrash!!!!

  • The most underrated metal band of the 80's and they had the best drummer in metal Gene "the atomic clock" Hoglan

  • Comment removed

  • Dark Angel kicks so much ass! I purchased Darknes Descends Black Edition today. Really cool!

  • super awesom y re aspero

  • Defenetly better then Death Angel

  • Comment removed

  • One of the most under appreciated and under rated bands EVER. These guys dont get the recognition for their pure talent, execution, and pure energy they always produced. These guys deserve to be on the same level as Slayer, Exodus, Testament, Sodom, Nuclear Assault and that group. Amazing how many people dont know this band, a true shame.

  • @Eabatu agreed.

  • Jim Durkin was having major issues with that amp of his...

  • lol hes flinging his dandruff at the crowd @ 2:14

  • how come fat drummers have superhuman stamina ll the time ??

  • @joppejohn my guess is that the fat gives them energy so that can keep going when others would drop from tiredness and the speed is from the weight of their arms and feet pushing them down rly fast then they bounce back up from the force of the hit

  • @joppejohn coke man coke

  • what's the info of this show?? (date, place, setlist etc)

  • @Daver869 all I know is the first song goes from the DD intro to The Death Of Innocence

  • gene hoglan=drums=god

  • Dark Angel's sound is pure rape.cant describe their music different.

    Long Live True Metal.

  • i love that gun metal grey randy rhoads

  • hell yeah!

    fuckin riffs up ur ass!

  • fuckin kickass \m/ INTO ASSAULT METAL \m/

  • these guys r damn great! Their speed man n head shakers!

  • Gene is a machine on the drums \m/

  • These guys were made for greatness...fucking good shit

  • these guys are fucking sick whats the first song

    its fucking badass

  • First song is Death of Innocence

  • Uh..dude, the first song is Darkness Descends.

  • @KissMeImPunk REAL THRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @duchbag This, Sadus, Morbid Saint, Merciless, Kreator, Pestilence, Possessed, Invocator, Sepultura, Attomica, Protector, etc., etc.

  • @KissMeImPunk Then it goes into "The Death Of Innocence"!

  • @KissMeImPunk actually they played the intro to Darkness Descends and then they went into The Death of Innocence

  • @taylerwarren you're right!

  • @raveneros the firts song is darkness descends

  • @raveneros

it is a medley darkness descends/death of innocence

  • fucking brutal man ., thrash til death

  • Dark Angel is one of the finest thrash bands.

  • @MapachewithSniper I agree or CAN'T argue THAT! I just wish THEY were opening for Slayer and Megadeth-instead of Testament!

  • Jesus, this is fucking intense! Nothing like it today...

  • I find it weird though that there ARE thrash bands for today, but nothing like Dark Angel or Sadus.

  • hey man,just check Suicidal Angels...they kill!!

  • she's right,new band,with old school spirit!!love their new album

  • Long hair? Check!

    Denim jackets? Check!

White Converse cons with the big tongue? Check!

  • @Vomitore your damn right brother

  • @Vomitore and old emg's.

  • fuck yeah Darkness Descends!

  • The ONLY band I wouldn't mind getting whiplash from

  • death of innocence

  • haha...know Eric Meyers...last time I seen him...we went to tijuana...haha...the red light district!

  • tell me the story..... if there is one

  • If I ever had the chance to see them open with harbinger and then death of innocence my heart would explode and I'd probably shit my pants.

  • this is just awasome.

  • was this after ou before "" Time does not heal "" ?

  • "Darkeness Descends"

  • "Darkness Descends"

  • before...

  • this was 1989, Time is 1991

  • I thought Ron came into the band in '87 after Don's departure. Wasn't Leave Scars made in '88 ot '89?

  • Leave Scar was made in 89

  • Ron Rinehart reminds me of conan the barbarian at 4:30

  • is this ultimate revenge?

  • ultimate revenge 2 actually, i think the first ultimate revenge was Slayer and a few other bands, back in like 1984

  • @burningempire666 You got it! First Ultimate Revenge had Slayer, Exodus, and Venom! Fortunately, I, STILL, have my VHS copies of Ultimate Revenge and Ultimate Revenge 2! I just Dark Angel were opening for Slayer and Megadeth-instead of Testament. In my opinion, if they WERE-the Carnage tour would (EASILY) "edge" out the Clash of The Titans tour! Especially when the Clash...tour had, of ALL bands, Alice In Chains (??) opening.

  • gotta remember Alice in Chains was a different animal back in 1991. They were more metal, and not so mainstream grunge yet. "We Die Young" is a bad ass tune. Testament is my fav. Why not have all 4? Now that is a pants-shitting, head-splitting event right there!

  • we had suicidal tendences over here in britain, not alice in chains. and st blew everyone off stage!

  • Ron Rinehart is fucking crazy... and ugly lol

  • Compare Ron to Bobby Elseworth lol

  • you mean Bobby Blitz?

  • His last name is elseworth or some spelling. Blitz is his nickname.

  • Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth

  • I think Ron's vocals are more ballsy and low end, but at times they do have that witch cackle quality

  • a great band need a great drummer.....

and of course on drums the atomick clock GENE HOGLAND!!!!!!!!1

  • Umm Black Sabbath? Iron maiden?

But yeah Dark angel and slayer did a lot for Thrash.

  • they and slayer are probably best things which happened in metal

  • Gotham City RULE!

I highly reccomed checking out their "The Unknown" LP. Fucking CLASSIC.

    BATTLE BLADEEEEE

  • dark fucking angel ruless!!!!!,is my favorite band in whole world.

  • Excellent...!!! great fucking live together to Death......Dark Fucking Angel rules the fucking underworld.......Lima -Peru.

  • Slayer kick ass, I'm sure everyone here can agree to that, but these guys were so fucking underrated, it's a crime. : (

  • @deathbox75

slayer kinda suck. songa r too similar.

plus the total run time on reign in blood is only 28 min. i mean wtf? anarchy in the uk is 38 min. thats just pathetic.

  • @SixStringedSavior well if you didn't notice it thrash metal is about SPEED and slayer did that, and you can't say all the songs sounds the same you can say i don't understand shit about music so all slayer's songs sound the same to me that would be more realistic :). SLAYER RULES

  • @SixStringedSavior since when did album length dictate quality? oh yeah thats right NEVER

  • @witchinghour666 I agree. Metallica's Load was 1 second shy of filling the whole CD and that album was crap. I'd take a killer EP over a mediocre full length, ANY DAY!

  • Fucking gene hoglan

  • I will NEVER understand why Slayer is considered to be the best. Just because a band got more famous does not mean they are better.

    Fucking christ kids.

  • agreed.

but for the record i still love slayer.

  • slayer r the ones who really opened me up to rock n roll music

  • LMFAO

  • asdfadfer are you just namedropping random titles to look cool ? also Hordes of chaos sucks balls ..

  • You name a better album that came out from an old school thrash band. Ps. I made the combat before Artillery's time. It was better than Megadeth's, Metallica, Slayer's, Anthrax's, Exodus's, Not Testaments, But for new albums from old bands, it's pretty fucking good. And unlike you, I actually own all these albums.

  • so intense

  • thrasher maniacs !!

  • One of the most underated metal bands ever.

  • I'd second that

  • Fucking life altering!

I was blessed to witness the 80's metal years. So many awesome memories. This makes me want to drink and punch something. Gonna have to buy a case, get trashed, play all my old cassette tapes and re-live the days......Exciter,Dark Angel, Hallow's Eve, Helloween, Laaz Rockit, Exodus, Running Wild, Kreator, Piledriver, Onslaught, Nuclear Assault, Overkill....ahhhh the list goes on and on.

    Stay Metal!

  • YEAHHH THRASHERS MANIACS!!!

  • i wonder why they played the intro to darkness decends then plays the death of innocence? still an awesome set.

  • exodus- bonded by blood

    sadus- chemical exposure

    razor- evil invaders

    nuclear assault- handle with care

    hallows eve- tales of terror

destruction- released from agony (I have the Backpatch^^)

  • Remember the men of the USS Liberty.

  • Man, can't believe I never got to see them live. And they even opened with my favorite DA song, "Death of Innocence". And seeing those Jackson Rhoads guitars makes me wish I still had mine. Might have to pick up another for old times sake.

  • {=Dark=}  {=Angel=}

  • should be mandatory viewing

  • Gene the machine FTW

  • Real smart to record songs at like 260 bpm or something and then play 'em even faster live!!! Hahaha... I love Dark Angel.

  • check out Audacity - a program that allows u to edit songs, to make them sound however u want

even speed them up to the speed the band plays it at live

  • possibly the only band to better slayer at thrash metal

  • YES!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I don't know bout that one. Slayer are the kings of thrash

  • you obviously have no knowledge of thrash metal then. slayer is great but definetly not the best thrash metal band out there, they are just the most popular.

  • listen to the reign in blood album and you might think again, no offence but its down to personal preference everyine has different views on things

  • ya buddy i've owned reign in blood for about 5 years now and ive definetly broaden my search since then cause like i said they are one of the most mainstream thrash metal bands. did you start listening to it when guitar hero came out?

  • slayer mainstream? nah i dont see them on mtv often or making appearances on tv shows lol. plus reign in blood came out in 1986 at charted at like no 100 or so, i dont call that mainstream. yes they are popular but maintstream.. no btw my fav thrash band is "exhorder" you should check them out mate they will fucking leave you amazed

  • ya they are sick. check out sepultura! my favorite band.

  • "CUT THROAT"

  • what?

  • its my fav song by sepultura

  • are you fucking kidding me? thats a horrible song. bestial devastion-arise= the true shit. not fucking roots and choas ad. thats not even thrash metal. listen to beneath the remains and schizo and arise and morbid visions!

  • Metallica is mainstream, Slayer is not. No other band has offending lyrics like they have. Tom Araya even said in an interview that they wrote these lyrics just to piss people off.

And keep in mind in how many contries some of their albums are not available, like Divine Intervention in Germany and Christ Illusion in India.

  • Thats why people are into slayer, cause its offensive and people think that is kewl. they dont listen to it cause of the music. And didnt they just win like a grammy or some shit? how is that not mainstream.

  • remember it was a metal grammy, and winning a grammy actually doesn't mean anything

metallica won like 20 grammies or so!

  • metal bands shouldnt being going to the grammys. and winning a grammy does mean alot.

  • I listen to Slayer cause of the music and lyrics.

  • but because i love Slayer, my favorite albums were Hell Awaits and Seasons in the Abyss. Reign in Blood is overrated i think.

  • I'll agree with that, my favorites are probably Hell Awaits and Divine Intervention, don't like Paul Bostaph that much cause he's not as good as Dave, but that albums still good.

  • Well, thats prob because gene taught dave Doublebass.

Bostaph is actually a good bit more talented technically, But Dave is a better drummer any other sense.

  • Yeah I know Gene taught Dave double bass, Dave's just quicker than Bostaph, I think, and he does do some more off the wall kind of stuff as opposed to Bostaph. I do think the drumming on Divine Intervention was intense though.
