  • Not the best Eponine, but she does a damn good job none the less.

  • NAILED IT.

  • i really like her!!

  • I knew Marissa McGowen at Harry B. Thompson Middle School in Syosset, New York.....

  • Marissa is my 2nd cousin. she's beyond awesome. :)

  • Good God, this is fantastic.

  • oh my god! im crying so hard and it takes a lot for me to do so with this song. i'm really picky.

  • I like her. She's really cute and she has a very sweet/pretty voice. I saw Megan McGinnis as Eponine, but i think I like Marissa better. I still love Celia the best out of all three of them though. I think she acts the role of Eponine the best, giving her a rough edge and a sense of spunk.

  • Her version is okay. She doesn't know how to control her voice, she shouts and it kind of irritating to hear. She have lost the meaning of the song. If you listen to Lea Salonga her version was very calming and captiving. You could relate and feel her emotions whilst she was perfroming. Her version of the song was voted by Mr Andrew Lloyd Webber and Cameron Mackintosh as the best version of all time.

  • The best live version I've ever seen!

  • LEA SALONGA Best EPONINE...and the BEST version of ON MY OWN.........

LEA SALONGA Best EPONINE...and the BEST version of ON MY OWN.........

LEA SALONGA Best EPONINE...and the BEST version of ON MY OWN.........

LEA SALONGA Best EPONINE...and the BEST version of ON MY OWN.........

  • @georee so who do you think sings the best version of "on my own"?

  • LEA SALONGA Best EPONINE...and the BEST version of ON MY OWN.........

LEA SALONGA Best EPONINE...and the BEST version of ON MY OWN.........

  • @georee ok ok, but if you know ur the best, are you not annoyed to be compared to almost anybody!!!

  • she is cute with a great voice

  • Oh, she`s singing so beautiful! I love her voice, her expression, I´ve never heared someone singing this song like her! she seems to feel all what she`s singing. her eyes really get glassy! shes just great, the best Eponine i´ve heared yet.

  • i love how she sings... "pretending" i haven't heard it that way before and i like it... she gets emotional too... you can see her eyes get glassy

  • Wow, I did Gypsy with this girl!

  • shes a close second to Lea Michelle to me but you all have your opinions haha

  • Wow!

  • i know her cousin! :)

  • that's my cousin!

  • I personally perfer her over Sutton Foster.

  • She's amazing as Eponine! On My Own is not one of my favorite songs from Les Mis, but she is very talented and makes it more worth listening to :) Do you have any other videos from this performance?

  • Do you have her death scene - a little fall of rain?

  • she is fantastic.

  • Out of all the Eponines I have seen, she is my favorite! I'm auditioning for Eponine soon, I hope to be half as good as her! I'm planning on interpreting it a little different though, but her's is amazing!

  • I think Lea Michele sounds better. She's still good though

  • She's fantastic! I do think she could been a little more dramatic and less sweet with the beginning of the belt verse, but otherwise, she's great. :) The end was heartbreaking!!!

  • Awesome. She looks so much like Kristen Bell

  • Beautiful! Gave me chills!

  • I just saw her as Guenevere in Camelot, she took over the part after Erin Davie left the show. I did not seeErin's version, but everyone is saying Marissa is by farthe best. Her voice just captivates you and her expressions bring you in to the song with her. I also think she is very beautiful. Would love to meet her someday.

  • @warfighter9 i know her she lives in manhattan west side

  • @78dma you are a lucky person i would love to meet her someday.

  • @warfighter97 she lives in manhattan in NYC. west side. 233 west end. My father works there as a doorman so you may want to see her in a play and meet her. Taks so maybe come to Nyc u might see her :)

  • @78dma "my father works there as a doorman = i followed her the fuck home after one of her performances... chill B.

  • @Bonzoandthemadhatter u followed her????? lol thats strange CAUSE I KNOW HER AND SHE KICKS THE SHIT OUT OF PPL WHO STALK HER. so i dont belive u. ill ask her though......

  • @78dma um no i was insinuating that YOU did... dumbfuck...

  • @Bonzoandthemadhatter DONT CALL ME DUMB FUCK U ASS. i do not stalk her. u r an asshole bitch. y would i stalk a girl??? im not lesbian dick.

  • She is great! How old is she there? Also, do you think that 14 years old is too young to play Eponine?

  • On Broadway, yes. :) The vocal maturity just isn't there.

But for a school version, absolutely not!

  • OUTSTANDING!!! Saw her from the front row. She was only a swing in this production which was insane considering how perfectly she performed. Never saw her as Cosette.

  • Anyone else think she has a tone very similr to Lea when she was younger. Her interpretation is also similar to Leas. Amazing even so!

  • Fantastic! I envy her!

  • This was absolutely beautiful, I loved her expressions.

  • i'm singing this for a fundraiser cabaret next friday. does anyone have any advice?

  • Wow, that was amazing! She has such a great voice!!!

  • I just worked with her on Sweeney Todd. She's an amazing actress and singer, and she is one of the nicest people on the planet!!

  • shes ok but lea really nailed this one for good....

  • Very expressive, better actress than Lea Salonga. I like her version too!

  • I like her but I LOVE Lea. Marissa is second though. ;)

  • she is the best i've ever heard live

  • Don't a lot of the Les Miserables tunes sound familiar? I know for sure that the first Willy Wonka movie stole the tune of "Lovely Ladies."

  • i would love to hear her live.

her voice is exactly how i pictured eponine.

  • she is a great cosette too!

  • I saw Marissa as Eponine back in April 2007 and she was wonderful! Thanks for posting this!

  • she is amazing in this role, i saw her in it on broadway when it was in the revival and i am so happy we got to see her instead of the girl who really had the role cause she was not very good. marissa should have had the role for her own!!!

  • Love her voice and her look! She LOOKS just like Eponine should be!

  • To Zarenamena, if you think she's the best that check Lea Salonga as Eponine while she sings on my own... She's the best...

  • I agree- Lea is my fav. too.

But this girl is quite good as well.... I think Miss McGowan just became my second fav.

  • YES!!!!!! That was GREAT!! I love her, I worked with her in Vermont, but in Kiss ME KATE!! She sounds wonderful.

  • Fantastic performance, very much in the tradition of Frances Ruffelle. Thanks for posting :).

  • She just did the production of Les Mis at Weston Playhouse in VT (which is like 30 mins from where I live :D)! She's FANTASTIC :) I really, really loved her Eponine. She's also really adorable <3

  • The girl is alright......Mindy Smoot was much better....

  • Mindy Smoot is at Tuacahn Theatre in St. George doing the Sound of Music

  • She is the best Eponine I've seen. I'm glad someone posted this video. Do you have "A little fall of rain"?

  • Love it! Do you have anything else from this production?

  • Youtube Les Mis Broadway revival and you'll find lots of videos from this production.

  • Best Eponine I have heard

  • She is absolutely amazing!!!

  • Marissa is amazing. I am doing the Sound of Music with her. She is playing Maria. I am understudying Louisa.

  • I just saw the show tonight! I was great! I loved the set design, it was beautiful. I have to say though, I was a bit disappointed with Marissa's preformance. It felt a bit uninspired. Which I found strange because this preformance is fabulous! but I could also tell that they were some sound issues, so that could have had some effect too I think.

  • I happen to think Marissa is wildly talented. She has excellent control over her voice, and it is very clear. The two times I watched it on Broadway, she was playing a lead. The first time, she was Eponine, and the second time, she was Cosette. Her range is amazing.

  • Unique song, honestly interpreted.

  • i went to high school with her. one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.

  • why'd she leave the production on broadway so soon after she got the led Epponine

  • She was never lead Eponine. You are thinking of Megan McGinnis.

  • Mandy Bruno got the lead and left two months after she got the role. Speculations are that she a) got fired or b) was sick too often and quit.

Her firing wouldn't be a surprise because Ben Davis, who was Javert for two months, wrote that he left because he was fired.

  • im actually working w/ her right now and she did not get fired...and she actually was lead eponine, she took over. she left bc she had been doing the show sooo long.

  • Are we talking about the same person? Mandy Bruno? Cuz she did Les Mis from April to the middle of June.

But her firing wasn't the worst rumor I heard....

  • Sorry that reply was from me. I posted it from a friend's account without realizing.

  • I love her! She just became one of my favourite Eponine's of all time, along with Lea Salonga.

  • Do you have her ALFOR? I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

  • did you see those tears? get it girl!

  • gorgeous!

  • is this the 6/1/08 final?????????

  • Nope.

Megan McGinnis was the final Eponine.

  • Outstanding! One of the few Eppys who do not go overboard by screaming "pretending" or "known"! Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • is this from teh final revival show or jsut during the run? do u have one day more with John owne jones video?

  • is this the final revival cast perofrmance?

  • no, Megan McGinnis was Eponine in the final performance
