  • Fortunately, we in Europe got the standard Director's Cut on PSN, with the original soundtrack intact. After waiting several more years for RE1 to even get here, that is.

  • I'm laughing, but only because I don't have this version, or else I'd be crying.

  • FUCK THIS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG. Why is this version of RE on the ps3. I prefer my DS port of RE

  • 0:55 - 0:58 gua gua gua gua gua guaaaaaaaa

  • Wtf did I just listen to

  • Is it just me or does this sound like the Yensa Sandsea from Final Fantasy XII?

  • It's sad that this is the version for download on psn.

  • How to ruin a classic

  • Hahaha, I have this version. Easily the worst soundtrack to any game, ever.

  • It would be funny to hear someone sing some funny lyrics while playing this song. XD

  • beautiful

  • This is not quality game music, but this is unsettling as fuck.

  • This is why you don't record the game's soundtrack whilst completely drunk.

  • Sounds like It belongs in Final Fantasy IX or Chrono Trigger or something. lol

  • Nirvana's last song

  • All rise for Japans national anthem!

  • Get the hell out of the way, Nobuo Uematsu

    Go to jail, Akiko Shikata

Die in a fire, Jeremy Soule

Cry yourself to sleep, Yasunori Mitsuda

THIS IS REAL VIDEO GAME MUSIC

  • Went to a prestigious music school, graduated valedictorian, made this as first composition ever in the video game industry. Was murdered a few days later.

  • scary as shit

  • Comment removed

  • The Brown Note.

  • motdef theme.

  • Comment removed

  • This is intense music to build suspense.

  • Remember nostalgia kidddies Resident Evil was better than Resident Evil 4!!

  • ...mooooooootdef XD

  • Oh god, the dissonance.

  • What the ......

  • That first note is possibly the funniest thing in existence.

  • And people preferred the old games.

    Pffft.

  • @TheSlinkyGuyShow

ha ha ha, listen to the original soundtrack to Resident Evil 1 and you'll see how fucking horrible this track is.

Also listen to the music to RE2 because that is some seriously great stuff.

  • @emperorIng360 Damn it, I was hoping none of you would find that comment so I'd be free to post my shitty opinions. =[

  • So it was the music that was the scary part about older Resident Evil games. I see it now.

  • I can't help but laugh every time I hear this song after fighting the Yawn.

  • What......what is this.

  • bweh bweh bweh bweh bweh bweeeeehhhhhh! ...

  • kinda sounds like evil mario

  • The theme is a little appropriate considering the first time you hear it is in a dirty kitchen with rotting food (not to mention bodies) everywhere

  • Say what you will, but this song was freaking creepy back in the day. Complete insanity set to music.

  • @TheCameron013 sorry but, i can not take this shit serious dude xD I laugh everytime i hear it.

  • What... is THIS!?

  • Im scared...

  • Time to see what dark secrets lie in the basement.

  • Like every other comment...what the fuck is this!?

  • haha, what the fuck is this

  • Pink Elephants? Pink elephants....

  • quack quak quak qwak there goes the duckie

  • I imagine an old wasted drunk clown to this.

  • @TheKrustaceox eww..creepy, as soon as i read your comment i thought of John Wayne Gacy (in his clown outfit) for some reason :P

  • Wow, this is really terrible. Forgot they changed the OST in the Directors Cut-DS version. The original score is way better.

  • flatulent evil

  • It just sounds like a kid playing one of those old Casio keyboards LMAO

  • Sounds like my 4 month old just slamming down on a keyboard.

  • Obviously thee BEST song in a video game ever.

  • @TheRealOmegaFlux13 Agreed 999%

  • This song is freakin amazing.

  • sounds like someones farting in to a trumpet

  • @sargentsnugglewolf92 XDXDXDXDXDXXD!

  • This song basically sums up Capcom and their stupidity these days.

  • @redude77 I like it personally. Its meant to reflect what is left of the zombies mind since this is the first time youve seen one in a while. So its meant to be a cacophonous mess as per a zombie's mindstate.

  • @tonyAJ420 Really, you read into that lol

  • I appear to have the only DC in existence that contains the music from the original release. Whats up with that? Because my copy will play, but its badly scratched up, but if I get a replacement its gonna have this crappy music instead of the original score. >=(

  • @Kuson2 The original Director's Cut had the original music. This soundtrack was added in the Director's Cut Dual Shock version, which...well, added Dual Shock support. You probably have the original DC I imagine, so just buy that one and you will be fine. I think it's on the PSN if you have a PS3.

  • @pooman2278 Oh ok, thanks for the clear up, cause I hate this music (Dualshock edition) It just kills all the feeling for me. And ya got a PS3 but I think it still might have the newer tracks like above. I'll research. Then again, for collecting purposes, I might want all versions at some point. ;)

  • It's been too long since i laughed this way.

  • when i heard this song i felt like talking a big dump. it reminded me of my bowls

  • This song sounds mindless and stupid, which reminds me of dumb zombies. To me, it describes what goes through a zombie's thoughts XD Kind of creepy to think that that's what goes through their mind.... and it's fnny as well haha

  • when i first heard this...

"WTF is that? anyway, the exit isn't too far away"

  • Its 2:00AM and im trying not to laugh or make any noise because of the top rated comments LOL

  • This sounds like back when I was eight years old and mashed the keys on my sister's electric keyboard with one of those weird sound settings on.

  • LOL

  • To be honest,I laughed when I`ve heard this at the first time XDDD

Original one was really good ^^''

    Better than this ._.'' XD''

  • I love this track. It sounds absolutely chaotic and dissonant, which I believe fits the mood of the game quite well at this point.

  • @CorPalmer I agree. :P

  • yess i must be buy this game from psn store

  • I'm sorry but this is ridiculous, the original st was much better. To quote Henry from SH4 "What...the...Hell?".

  • like if u think they should make a vid of keyboard cat on drugs playing this lol

  • Barry:What is this?

  • nothing compared to the theme in the original

  • rolf harris wants his stylophone back.

  • @hazelamym From the sounds of things his dog is eating it.

  • YEEEEESSSS

This sounds like something I would compose with a really old Casio keyboard.

  • What the fuck is this noise? LOL

  • amazing

  • hahaha wtf i just burst out laughing. good shit.

  • "Okay Mr. Composer, you've got 5 minutes to come up with something or we'll have to scrap this music project altogether!"

    *composer mashes keyboard*

  • i laugh at this song cuz of the trumpet, until the zombie came down the stairs.

  • LOL this sounds like an Ocarina of Time outtake xD

  • HOW MUCH WEED DO YOU HAVE TO SMOKE TO EVEN BEGIN TO THINK THIS IS CONSIDERED "MUSIC"? XD

  • WTF!!!

  • Sounds like somebody playing a Tuba while randomly farting.

Fuck Mario and Zelda, this is the greatest track ever made!

  • As my best friend once said "This sounds like someone farting into a trumpet"

  • Oh god, this is amazing. I couldn't keep my laughter to myself.

  • It's the new Bjork song!

  • Sounds like some spaz was let loose on a keyboard.

  • I didn't know Bulk and Skull were in Resident Evil

  • the first time i heard this i though there was something wrong with my game, i can't beleive its actually a real game music, man this makes me laugh so much every time i hear it

  • Just imagine if they used the horns here, as the score for Inception. It would turn into an M. Night unintentional comedy!!

  • LMAO

  • The whole Dualshock OST is terrible anyway. I really wonder who's the guy who came up with this garbage

  • bweh bweh bweh bwehhhh!

  • Man, this isn't Resident Evil music, this is Barney music.

  • This music doesn't scare me, even it sounds like a Squidward's musics from Sponge Bob, i prefrer the original music.

  • hahaha

  • I really like this theme. Sounds disturbing to me.

  • Simply Awesome.

  • Being a long time Resident Evil fan I will stick to the original games soundtrack some of the tracks in the directors cut such as this one are just terrible!.

  • To be honest I don't think either track is all that great. Both tracks definitely have a different mood though. The original track gives more of a feeling of fear with a more slower moodier feel. This track gives you more of a "something is not right" feeling and is more intense. Kind of like a mischievous and scary feeling together. I can understand where the composer was going with this track and I think he nailed it. But the problem is that it doesn't sound very attractive or good.

  • i thought that a boss was going to come when i heard this

  • sounds like a broken trumpet, or someone playing on a brolen trumpet

that was my first thinkin after i heared that music xD

  • It sounds like a drunk composer... banging on a keyboard made to sound like a trumpet... I still make fun of this XD I never liked this area though... O.O

  • I allways laugh when i imagine the person who created this song sitting there, and thinking "this is good"

  • @chrisvillan88

I think the only reason they used this is because they were being lazy, and you only spend about 50 seconds in the basement, so they thought "Who cares"?

  • One of the few new tracks in the DC I didn't like. The original was pretty neat and creepy. This sounds like the Retarded Circus is in town.

  • @CapnLexCrunch lmfao!! XD i nearly pissed myself when you said it sounded like a retarded circus

  • @CapnLexCrunch LMFAO.

  • Whenever I heard this song, it kinda got me out of the scary mood. While it is eerie, in my opinion, it also reminded me of farting.

  • Look, different strokes for different folks. I'm just saying that the music doesn't exactly strike a creepy chord. There really wasn't an emphasis on terror or horror here. Maybe they were going for bizarre, but it certainly isn't scary.

Compared to "Narrow and Close" this track really is inferior to the original. Gizmo is right on this one.

  • No he's not; that's your opinion, not fact.

  • @RJT0123456789 Touche. Like I said, however, different strokes for different folks. My opinion is that the DC version is horrible by comparison of "Narrow and Close."

  • A lot of people think this song is retarded (and it's not like I wouldn't easily see why). But this song, to me, reminds of like how you can have a nightmare that would sound utterly retarded if you told it to someone else but you felt it to be horrifyingly scaring in your nightmare nonetheless.

  • @RJT0123456789 i think a lot of people call it bad when they are comparing it to the original music which was MUCH scarier than this one.

  • They really should have kept the original basement theme or just made something better. This is the worst track in the game.

  • Actually, I thought this music was creepy. You peeps has no recognition for that classic feel. You're too spoiled with that high class crap to see it.

  • It's just inappropriate for the scene it's meant to go for...it's too....bleh, rather than downright dark and eery. I can't take it seriously, to be honest.

  • The prime example of RE's horrid music.

Seriously, what the hell kind of instrument is this?! An organ? An accordion? Perhaps it's best if I never know...

  • @EverDownward it's the music made or the dualshock version.

  • @EverDownward

    Brass synthesis.

And yes. This track is just laughably bad. Reduces me to fits of laughter, especially when I see the look on someone's face after playing it.

It always makes me think of a retarded circus. Utterly destroys the atmosphere of the mansion basement/kitchen areas.

  • thank you very much for posting all these!
