I don't want to be a killjoy, but this recording is not Testors. It's actually a re-boot of Sonny Vincent and the Extreme, with me on lead guitar, Jim Michels on bass, and probably the best punk rock drummer I've ever played with (sorry, but I forgot his name, Mike?). It was recorded on 4-track cassette in our rehearsal room, probably 1987 or so. This line-up only played two gigs. My heart goes out to Sonny today, as I just learned of the passing of Michael Davis.
@sambolino44 Oh, really? Interesting! I got it off of that "Complete Recordings 1976-79 (2 CDs)" thingy, although I admit I have no idea if that release is official or something a tad more shady. It does however sound very similar, production wise as well as in regard to Sonny's vocals, to the other songs supposedly from that timespan, from that disc. Are you absolutely certain of this? I'll change the info if I'm convinced, but I feel I need something more to go on. :p
@kamikazehooker Sonny told me he sent the tapes to the producer, thinking they were going to add only one or two tracks as bonus material. Instead, they included just about the whole thing, but with no credits. You can hear a drastic change in sound after about the second song on the second disc. All those songs with that "rough" sound are us. There's a picture of this line-up on the liner: we're sitting or crouched, I'm off to one side with a mullet. It's all Sonny, just not Testors.
@kamikazehooker I understand if you're not convinced. I was with Sonny only a short time (Jim was with him longer, toured Europe and US), and I don't show up in any credits or histories of Sonny. I've lost contact with Sonny. Last time I talked with him he was living in Europe, I think. I think the world of Sonny, and Testors were certainly great. I just ran across this video and said, "Hey!" No biggie.
This is punk rock!! yay!! a tune with a message! unlike the pussie pop acts of today who call themselves punk because they don't like breaking nails :)
