In my opinion this fight was X's ultimate nightmare, not because of Zero's excellent combat ability but just the fact that he will one day have to destroy his best friend just to end the stalemate of the Sigma War (Or Maverick Wars)

Megaman has a double buster. You just need the capsules to use it. and in turn, Megaman is the better reploid. He has more human emotions than Zero, causing him to hold back. but when he doesnt he is the best robot out there.

well possibly when well if you got zeros parts you dont fight zero (i think) but if you dont get them you fight zero in which he doesnt remember x until after the battle
meh, X2 if u dont all 3 parts for Zero u have to fight him and if u do u fight a black version(not literally black but armor black) and real Zero comes in. X5 u have to if u choose X for the sigma stage, and X6 if u get to the right alternate area in a stage

At the end of MM7, Megaman says "I am more then a robot....DIE WILY" Making him able to think for himself, so he IS the first robot that can think for himself X.

I loved the Megaman X seris and this is my favorite memory as a child, Megaman vs Zero.

X2's translation was horrible. Replacing every instance of 'X' with 'Mega Man'...It's like they're TRYING to make people think they're the same.
Well, they succeeded. Now, everyone thinks his name is Mega Man X, when it's only X. Bar titles, there's never a single instance of Rockman in the Japanese game scripts.
Other than that, awesome game. Spectacular battle, too, I didn't know you could loop the AI like that.

The series was called Mega Man X because it's a spin-off of the original Mega Man series. X himself is not supposed to be referred to as Mega Man. It's X, or if you insist, Mega Man X.
But if I think about it, I've never heard any character refer to him as Rockman X, save Dr. Light in his warning message in the first game.

Megaman X IS megaman. lol read up on it, he is megaman rebuit but he wasnt done being tested so he was sealed away in a capsule. Zero was made by Dr. Wily. Megaman X is the future of megaman, megaman zero is the future of megaman x. one day they will all bridge together.

Yes, I don't deny Mega Man X 's plot is the future Mega Man's plot, but X himself is NOT Mega Man. There was an interview where Keiji Inafune himself stated X and Rock are two separate entities.
The original Rockman was not remodeled into X. Any story like that was purely fan speculation.

Why would he have his name if he weren't.
If you show me video evidence of Inafune saying X is not Rockman, then I will believe he is not, you will never convince me otherwise.

X being called Mega Man is a MISTRANSLATION. The actual Japanese games have absolutely NO instance of Rockman, save titles and Dr. Light's warning message.
I'm basing my stuff on articles from magazines. Don't know what the heck you're basing your judgments on.
Besides...Rock Volnutt has also been called Rockman Trigger. I suppose that means he's X revived who's Rock revived.
Similar names mean nothing, especially considering X was never called Rockman and was only called Rockman X once.

I think they also mentioned anyone who Rocks On (Or, shudder, Mega Merge) is called a Rockman.

Its possible for Rockman Trigger to be X and MM, how would you know they are not? Even if he actually stated that X and Rockman are different robots he could be lying to keep the sence of mystery (Even Hideo was know to lie about MetalGear to keep things secret).
At the end of MM7, Megaman says "I am more then a robot....DIE WILY" Making him able to think for himself, so he IS the first robot that can think for himself X.

You know what, even if I do bring undeniable proof, you're likely to close your ears anyway, since you're confident creators lie about their own stories. I'm not saying that's completely wrong, but why ask me to dig up a video if you're not even going to pay attention to it?

hahahaha i remember when i first tryed clearing this level i got my ass kicked by Zero so many times hahaa i was intimidating my self xDD i would be like omg o-o he's Zero i cant win T.T haha eventually after 800 tries i won!! XD

I know his weakness, and what it does, but I consider it cheap to use weapons against bosses, especially one so formidable.

Zero's weakness is the flame weapon... It will do 2 pellets damage compared to 1 damage with the charged X-Buster. Otherwise, good run!
