It is true though that there are not many documents left from our past, Pomans, Greeks, Bulgarians, Turks and SLavs took care to destroy them (although not all)... Some will ome into the surface in the near future ;) belive me. All this is not a question of religion. We were traeted unfairly many times in the past by u guys. My great grandfather has worked in Thesaloniki for many years in early 1900 and he told us the injustice him and other albanians got-although he was orthodox.

I now study history (well I studied applied mathematics but History is my second degree)... In Paris, and when we studied the little Illyrian text remains I could understand up to 70%. I wish we didn't argue but agree that Greeks and Albanians have so much in common. We've lived side by side for 2000 years. I think some Greeks have a problem that a large number of Albanians became Muslim, never forgiving them for taking the Turks' religion.... But we Albanians remained Albanians regardless of religion, which is rare in the Balkans, where all other nations are monoreligious. They got angry & the soldiers beat them almost to death. I wish we didn't argue but agree that Greeks and Albanians have so much in common. We've lived side by side for 2000 years. I think some Greeks have a problem that a large number of Albanians became Muslim, never forgiving them for taking the Turks' religion.... But we Albanians remained Albanians regardless of religion, which is rare in the Balkans, where all other nations are monoreligious. Let's just say that this is a nice song and it's understood by Albanians but also enjoyed by Greeks.

@chrysabra Well, that is your right. Arvanites deserve to feel how they want to feel. Neither Greeks or Albanians should put pressure on them. Sadly, I hear the language is almost lost in Greece... We have a common origin but we're not that different from Greeks either. Greeks only became richer in the last 30 years. We will be equal again and then perhaps Arvanites wouldn't mind so much being associated with their ancient Albanians origins. We're all cool Albos, Greeks and Arvanites.

You put a greek and a Turk side by side and you'd have trouble telling them apart. I also know that his wife was Christian and that he loved her very much and built quite a few beautiful churches...
