A uniquely African Islam has been the voice of the Hausa people and a majority of West Africans for close to a millenia, without cultural interference from outsiders. Many African Muslims dont wear burqa's or speak Arabic and follow their own indigenous customs, it doesnt mean they are any less Muslim.
