  • Tycker svenska texten passar bäst till musiken för det andra låter dåligt i toner i sång....

  • Jafar kan sjunga :D

  • Swedish, when sung and even when just spoken, sounds so beautiful. Jag vill lära mig att tala svenska. (If that's anywhere close to correct...) ^_^

  • @mikestewart729 Good! You got it all right! ;)

  • @mikestewart729 It's quite difficult, but not impossible. Said by a native Swede.. but whatever :)

  • @mikestewart729 btw.. "Jag vill lära mig att tala svenska." was perfect, even if you used Google Translate ;)

  • as i said before, this girl can really sing! especially with the high notes at the end...it was fantastic

  • Samuelsson låter inte alls som han gör i Aladdin (Jafar) hehe den här är så mysig på svenska. Mer opera än den engelska.

  • The Swedish production is, without a doubt, the best I've ever heard.

  • Best production of them all. Maybe I´m alittle biased cuz it´s in my language. But I think Mikael has the best voice voice for the phantom that I have heard so far. I like how gives the phantom a little rough and raw voice. suits the role

  • @TheGrindsprint Both Mikael Samuelsson and Elisabeth Berg has fantastic voices, and their portrayals in this production are absolutely top notch. Call me (too) biased but I prefer them over Brightman and Barton. Somehow Berg and Samuelsson sound smoother, fuller and more adult. Also - just like you said - Samuelssons rougher, mader and more forceful Phantom makes the character better justice. Barton is... too whimpy(!).

An (unverified) rumor says the swedish production was Webbers favorite.

  • @mkarnerfors Sorry, not Barton... Michael Crawford. Not to say that Brightman and Crawford are anything but excellent, nota bene. But Samuelsson and Berg has a way of sustaining the lines and adding so much... I don't know what it's called but... "fullness" or "volume/space". Their voices rise and fade much smoother making for a much better ride through the song. And sorry, but the end of the cadenza with Brightman just makes me cringe badly after having heard Berg.

  • @mkarnerfors I remember taking some kind of "Phantom Tour" of Oscarsteatern (where this was performed 1989-1995), where it was mentioned that the production team in London considered the Swedish staging to be the very best. But I might remember wrong.

  • Can someone help me with the lyrics. I am norwegian, so I understand swedish, but I have some trouble hearing.

  • @MrBigfoot91 Ofc! Would you like me to write down all the lyrics for you? :)

  • @TheWanderingchild If you could?

  • @MrBigfoot91 Absolutley, I'll pm you!

  • One of the best versions of the title song. Hands down.

  • Amazing!
