I wouldn't have been so pissed by it if it was more of a drawn out and dramatic battle and they focused a little more attention on their deaths instead of having just a few second clips of their bodies afterwords during the battle before Prime's death.

@ClandestineOstrich True out of the handful of g1 characters the made it to the end & survived Trail Breaker,Mirage,& Ironhide should have been a part of the g1 autobots that survived the movie and to make it onto season 3 cause i look at it like this Trail Breaker had his force field to protect him Mirage had the ability to make himself invisible & surprise the enemy & good ol Ironhide was just plain f*cking tough as nails those 3 should have made it......

I remember seeing this movie as a kid in 1986 and I think it traumatized me. My dad took me and he has no recollection of it. I had no idea at the time the movie was so dark and Transformers would actually be killed. It still makes me feel uncomfortable watching it, especially this scene. I mean, Prowl dying from a single shot from Scrapper's laser pistol?

This is one of the reasons why this movie still remains as a classic.The writers weren't scared to take risks and give their audience a mature story. We saw the death of four main characters.Three of which, Prowl,Ironhide and ratchet were killed off as though they were nothing more than canon fodder. This was fitting though because it reinforces,Megatrons character.It makes sense that they didn't get a heroes death, we were always shown that Prime was the only autobot that was on megaTrons level

@Gelgo0g I've always had a problem with how easily (and violently compared to the series) Prowl fell. It could have just been bad editing, but anyone familiar with the G1 tech specs KNOWS that Scrapper's pea shooter skills only had a firepower of 3/10.

Then again I saw things just as ridiculous in G1...like in a three parter called The Ultimate Doom where Brawn, another TF with low firepower, blows Shockwave away with a pea shooter twice. TWICE.
