  • No Soup for Youuuuuu!

  • that is one of my biggest pet peaves

  • you have NO FUCKING IDEA HOW MANY TIMES I CORRECT THE PAINTBALL BUDDIES THAT IVE TAKEN SHOOTING ON THAT.... thank you

  • LMAO!!

  • MY GRIPE IS PEOPLE WHO NIT P[ICK OVER PEOPLE USING SLANG WORDS...WHAT DOES IT HURT??..EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT IT MEANS...SOME GUN GUYS BITCH AROUND LIKE OLD LADIES.

  • @1IIIIIIIIII1 Because they are not mutually exclusive terms. You can get clips for loading AR magazines, for example. They do two different things and the more people understand the differences the easier it will be to answer their questions and make sure they get what the really want.

  • @Makingnewnamesisdumb OH BROTHER

  • @1IIIIIIIIII1 Because when you walk into a gun store and ask for a "clip" for your AR-15 they will look at you with a confused look. We don't nit pick, we are making it easier on each other.

  • @ADyingFetus I CAN MAKE IT EASY ON MYSELF BY JUST BUYING WHAT I NEED ONLINE INSTEAD OF GOING TO A GUN SHOP WHERE THE OWNER WANTS TO PLAY A GAME OF "I OF I AM SMARTER THAN YOU" BY NIT PICKING OVER WORDS. THAT WAY THE ONLINE STORES CAN FLOURISH AND THE NIT PICKERS THAT RUN THE WALK IN STORES CAN GO BROKE. ...PROBLEM SOLVED.

  • @1IIIIIIIIII1 He isn't playing a game of I'm smarter than you... You should already know the proper names before you even searched for extra parts for your rifle. Besides, not all online stores will have what you are looking for and most of the time, online places are a bitch to get parts. You are certainly irritated by common knowledge....

  • @ADyingFetus NO, I AM IRRITATED BY NIT PICKING COCK SUCKERS WHO CANT JUST GO WITH THE FLOW AND STOP BEING PICKY BITCHES ABOUT EVERY LITTLE FUCKING THING...ONLY SMALL MINDED ASSHOLES WITH NOTHING BETTER TO DO STAND AROUND IN GUN SHOPS WAITING TO CORRECT SOMEONE FOR USING A FUCKING SLANG TERM. WHEN YOUR MOM WAS IN HEAT AND WANTED FUCKED...DID SHE HAVE TO TELL YOUR DAD SHE WANTED SOME PENIS...OR DID HE PRETTY MUCH KNOW WHAT SHE WANTED WHEN SHE SAID COCK, DICK, PRICK, WEENER AND SO ON.

  • @1IIIIIIIIII1 Well considering I wasn't born at the time, and nor do I want to be around them if they were to fuck, so... that question cannot be answered. Look, for the last time, we are NOT nit picking. It is MUCH easier to just say the proper term for it. Then there is no bitching and whining like you are so good at doing. Here's a question, when you need a part for your car, do you go and tell the part store "I need a part for my car" and not give him ANY clue to what you need?

  • @1IIIIIIIIII1 All those words you used to describe a penis are what we in the educated world call synonyms. Synonyms are different words with almost identical or similar meanings. Clips and magazines are not almost identical or similar therefore your well thought out penile rant is invalid.

P.S. you sure do think about penises a lot.

  • @stimproid its called vernacular, dumbass

  • @TheRealestEver I think you're using the word vernacular wrong. But nice try. Why is it that people bother making arguments for being ignorant. Oh the proper term is a magazine? Well I'll just call it a clip so I sound like I don't know what I'm talking about. Why just the other day someone told me those those black things on the bottom of my car are called tires but I will still call them doughnuts because I feel like sounding stupid!

  • @stimproid sorry to thwart your attempt at being a pretentious, head-up-your-ass, douchebag; but maybe you should pick up a dictionary sometime.

oh, by the way, i believe the synonym for "tires" that you were looking for is WHEELS, not "doughnuts", numbskull.

  • @TheRealestEver You used synonym wrong.

  • @stimproid <- failed again

  • @1IIIIIIIIII1

Haha nice one. to bad you cant buy a gun online without going in the gun shop to fill out the federal forums

  • Should you get it right when you are shopping and trying to convey your need? Yes. Does it matter in every day conversation? Not at all. It's colloquially interchangeable.

  • If I walked into a gunstore and asked for a clip and recieved this kind of attitude, I would about face and take my money elsewhere.

  • @goodinsrt8 maybe you shouldn't own a gun if you're referring to a magazine as a clip.

  • @ctuagent247 And maybe I should.

  • @ctuagent247 lol, you're funny

  • clips feed magazines, magazines feed firearms.

  • lol! :D was the end on purpose? " it's not a magazine it's a clip "

  • It is slang, people in this generation and there guns. *Shakes head* XD

  • @BrooklynXT1 But when people don't know or understand the difference, or are legitimately too ignorant to use proper terminology, they should be gently corrected. It isn't specific to guns. I have to deal with people all day, every day, that don't know basic computer terminology. NO, that thing you see the pictures on is NOT a computer, it's your monitor.

When we lose the ability to even speak properly or refuse to learn, we come one step closer to reverting back to stupid animals slinging poo.

  • -hey i need a clip

-you mean this -pulls out a magazine-

    -no i need a 7.62x39 stripper clip for n sks X_x

  • You'd be surprised how many things you call by the wrong name and don't know it cause it's outside your area of expertise. Give people outside their area of knowledge some room for error.

You live with guns everyday, most people it's only an occasional deal.

  • @breezebro in the gun industry you have to be precise...lets say you own a AR15 and need .223 for it..instead you say 5.56...although this is the correct size, its a different pressure load, you go from a trip to the range to a trip to the ER and you can thank the games and the media for the misinformation..FN57..is it the SAME 5.7 fired from MP7 or is it a different case length?

  • @Returacan I didn't say you never have to be precise, sometimes you do, but calling a magazine a clip is not going to send anybody to the hospital. Calling a weapon a gun is not gonna get anybody killed. Why not just nicely correct the person and teach them instead of being an ass? That way they look forward to visiting the gun store to spend their money instead of dreading a another visit with gun snobs.

  • @breezebro i see where your going with this and its true, but its human nature to get pissed off at things...and with gunsmiths and gun dealers, somethings just dont sit right the 1st time and after about the 100th,your about ready to blow a gas tube..now about that 5.7 ....

  • @breezebro I guess they should suck it up?

  • @BrooklynXT1 We all have to. A sailor has to relax when a landlubber calls his ship a boat. I have a computer business and customers call most things by the wrong name. I can tell them how stupid they are and lose a customer, ignore it and do something they didn't expect to their computer, or nicely explain to them what they are saying and gain a customer that likes to come to me with their computer problems.

If you want to make money in a business you better learn to suck it up.

  • @breezebro I correct people all the time in my industry (IT) and most of the time they thank me, or use the right terminology next time so they can better explain what they want or what is happening.

Calling them stupid would indeed be downright dumb, but there's nothing worse than someone who is so passive that they'll just sigh, roll their eyes and let anything go without challenge or correction. That just breeds more ignorance in the world and today's society needs all the help it can get.

  • @gymkhanadog Except on youtube, telling the truth, even nicely, frequently will get you blocked.

  • @breezebro You speak the unfortunate and sad truth. :(

  • Where can I get one of those fat high cap AR Mags?

  • I do find it amusing that you are complaining about the difference between magazine and clip, but then call the weapon a 'gun.' :p

  • @Melthornal

is the weapon not a gun?

  • @f8talh8red The word 'gun' is slang. Just like saying 'clip' instead of magazine is slang. Or saying 'bullet' instead of 'round' or 'cartridge' is slang. It is all slang. :p

  • i love him!! he is amaizing

  • I remember when my instructor was kinda yelling at a fellow cadet because he kept calling the magazine a clip, but we all had our fun joking a bit with this matter haha

  • Semantics, but I'll play along, you may also want to inform the customer that the purpose of a "clip" is to feed ammo into a "magazine" which is often fixed internally to the rifle. Such is the case with the M-1 Garand for example. However in my experiences the gun store owners know much less than I expect of them when it comes to firearms nomenclature. I enjoy informing and helping others learn how to fully exercise our 2nd Amendment rights. We need all the help we can get to preserve it.

  • Quote from end of this video "So remember people it's not a magazine, it's a clip". Did I miss something, cause I thought he was trying to say it's not a clip, it's a magazine. Hmmmmm.

  • Almost forgot moon clips and half moon clips, Hold rimless auto pistol rounds together for proper headspacing in a double action revolver

  • Stripper clips are most correctly known as chargers. That said, they are a type of clip. The language is not evolving. Ignorance does not make incorrect terminology correct.

A clip is a piece of stamped sheet metal that holds cartridges together for the purpose of being fed through a magazine, or loaded into a magazine.

a magazine has a housing, spring, follower, and (except for blind box mags) a floorplate.

  • @RustyMusket70 Howitzers were shorter , more mobile versions of "Guns" .

Now , at least in U.S. arsenals , the term howitzer is synonymous with land based mobile artillery . The same will probably occur with clip vs.detachable box magazine .

It is evolution , plain and simple .

  • Clip Clip Clip hip flip lip.

  • "So remember people, it's not a magazine, it's a clip" LOL! FAIL!

  • Those are NOT clips, they are magazine chargers, please use the correct term.

  • Believe It Or Not --- a Gun Shop Near My House,The Mgr There Calls magazines "clips "

  • Comment removed

  • I love the way he says "clip"

  • got mad clips for my 9!

  • Also the Mosin nagant/Lee enfield/Mauser, Stripper clips, correct terminology, are chargers. Meaning, it's used to Charge the Rounds off of the "Clip" into the Internal Box Magazine, in the case of the SMLE, or the AR-15, to charge the rounds into the detachable box magazine.

  • I must admit. I have been guilty of calling a magazine a clip before. -.-

  • @KironStrife Same... >_>

  • Tater chip clip? Hair clip?

  • I got my 4 year old nephew to correct his dad every time he says "clip"

  • I think video games of the 90's always made this worse. I remember playing Duke Nukem 3D and Doom etc... you would always pick up "clips" rather than magazines....

  • Yeah umm...I need a clit for my gun please.

  • i love the last comment by the camera man 1:53

  • Are you aware you have Obama advertisements on your vids? Kinda goes against the gun owners way of life doesn't it? Might want to look into that, eh?

  • I need a half moon magazine for my revolver.

  • clips feed mags and mags feed firearms :D

  • The only 'clip' term that exists in guns is the 'clips' that held the rounds for old WWII rifles like the Mauser Kar98k or the Mosin Nagant that were used to quickly load 5 rounds since it can be a pain in the ass to load them one by one. And sometimes, your bayonet just does not cut it. The term was popular also with the M1 Garand's bloc clips that held the 30-06 rounds.

  • im not gun expert but clip sounds way better then a mag and maybe because in movies they say clip

  • Hi Point magazine.. *cling cling*

  • This isn't "semantics". Make a comparison: a car owner going to a mechanic and requesting a "wheel". After the mechanic determines rim size, design, and lug spacing, turns out they need a "tire". Just like the clip/ magazine issue. There IS an important difference. I don't know the difference between surgical instruments. Why? I'm not a surgeon. Nor am I qualified to be. So if someone, for instance, doesn't know you need to pull the trigger on a firearm to shoot it (see gun gripes 10 operator h

  • I learned something today :)

  • Clip vs Mag, almost as bad as someone making a video about revolvers and using the wrong names for critical parts of the mechanism. Know what I mean Gripe Guys? It also infuriates me that people that either own or work at places that sell firearms (guns are artillery pieces) act like they always know more than the customer. At least 50% of the time the buyer knows a lot more but acts dumb just to avoid destroying the employees ego in front of everyone. But thanks for the videos anyway...

  • I get so pissed off when people refer to magazines as "clips".

  • You're awesome

    :3

  • i tought my friends the clip/mag lesson when they said "here is your mag for your m1". now it seems that it spread and i have yet to hear clip when they are talking about a mag.

  • So what is the definition of a firearms Clip? or if you like, Whats the difference between a magazine and a clip?

  • @clodester A clip holds ammunition so that it can be fed into a magazine. A magazine holds ammo in the firearm and feeds it into the chamber. The en-bloc is slightly different since it goes into the magazine with the ammunition. There ARE clips for AR and AK rifles, and there are "spoons" that attach to magazines so you can load ammo off clips into a magazine, then you can load the magazine into your rifle.

  • I've always wanted to go to a gun store and ask for a clip, actually meaning a clip. The people there would think I was ignorant, and then I would surprise them when they pull out a magazine and I correct them! HA!

  • You use a clip to load a magazine. Pretty easy to remember, in my opinion.

  • Hahaha!

  • Comment removed

  • People are getting bent out of shape over a 2 min video of someone getting bent outta shape over semantics...hypocrisy at its best haha

  • is this a video clip...

  • What about a Clipazine?

  • The way I look at it is a Clip feeds a Magazine and a Magazine feeds the weapon.

  • I have to agree with some of the comments I've read. Your arrogant, undermining tone is really off-putting.

  • All that and at the end he says "remember its not a magazine its a clip" lmao hope that was a joke.

  • Great video and funny too!

  • who is that guy he is kick ass!!!!

  • @kingofstl841 Barrey or Berry,I dont know how you spell his name but the guy does make alot of informative videos.

  • This is silly. Why dont you do something constructive or educational to the public concerning firearms? Instead, You've decided to upload a useless video that seems very condesending to anyone who is either new or trying to educate themselves about firearms. Please find something better to do with your time than nitpick at irrelevant things. I know its difficult when you're a singular subject matter expert and have nothing more important in your life to do, but please try.

  • I call this gun gripe 2.1. Who or what is on third. You just finished telling me I dont want a hair or potato chip clip for my 25 auto but at the end the guy says its not a magazine but a clip.

  • Ok. at the end of the video the guy says "remember it's not a magazine it's a clip" a little counter productive to the video if you ask me.

  • @HobbyPicker all of their vids are counterproductive. Thats why people don't like gunshops!

  • Well, let's all use language that makes you happy. Your doctor doesn't get all pissy when you don't use proper terminology describing your ailments. Get over yourself and treat people with proper respect.

  • exactly my point , i like all the vids about guns but why make such a big deal about something so small , he knows what the customer is talking about .

  • Well now I know :)

  • NAG NAG NAG , YOU KNOW WHAT THE FUCK WE'RE TALKING ABOUT , YOU DEAL WITH THE GENERAL PUBLIC , WE'RE NOT ALL GUN EXPERTS , NIETHER ARE YOU , GET OVER YOURSELVES AND MAKE USEFUL VIDS. THANKS

  • @tanksanatra You don't have to be a "GUN EXPERT" to understand the difference in between a magazine and a clip, all caps guy.

  • @tanksanatra exactly

  • what store is this because i have a remington model 742 and the one remington "clip" is for that gun and i cant find those anywhere

  • @Elitehamster123 OK, yes that is true:)

  • @Romansten9 "Shell" is another one that gets me, that is when folks call a cartridge a "shell." Shells (as far as I know) are only used in shotguns.

  • @RobertKaydoo could be a shot shell, essentially a #8 load for rifle and sub-calibers. :P

  • @RobertKaydoo Yup, hate it when people ask me what kind of bullets I use in my 870

  • @Romansten9 Agreed!

  • Comment removed

  • Me: So, how many magazines do you have for that?

    Dude: "I have three clips."

    Me: oh... Okay..

Dude: "You're new to guns, aren't you?"

Me: *sigh that I can't beat the guy up* "I'm a little rusty."

  • Yep this bugs me to. So now I just use it as a way to find out if a person knows wtf they are talking about when it comes to firearms.

  • @RobertKaydoo Yeah, me too, separates the amateurs from the real gun crowd. Sometimes it can even be a safety tip off. If a person doesn't know something this SIMPLE, I watch them closer at the range. They might have even worse issues with handling the firearm.

  • Customer: "Hi, do you have any 25 round clips for a Ruger 10/22?"

Me: "Nope, sorry... they don't make those."

Customer: "But isn't that one there?" (Points to Butler Creek magazine behind the counter)

    Me: "Oh that? That's a 25 round magazine for a Ruger 10/22."

  • haha love your videos keep up the good work!!

  • Don't be mean to uneducated people. Educate them nicely, lol

  • HAI GUISE I WOULD LIKE A CLIP FER MAIH GUN! HOW MUCH FER A CLIP FER MAH MACHINE GUN?

  • There is a clear difference, but some guns take clips(I think something like the 30mm Bofors, or smaller calibres from a little while ago) and come guns take magazines.

  • "...It's not a magazine it's a clip"

but what if it is a clip? is it a magazine?

  • @spartan8345 You just blew my mind.

  • I went to a gun store in Arizona, asked the clerk where I could find a magazine for my Mini-30. He replied, "what month". I left the store.

I am pleased someone is attempting to correct gun America from the misnomers perpetrated by Hollywood, ill informed politicians & thugs.

Every military tech manual on firearms will STATE the detachable enclosure device in which the ammunition is retained is named: MAGAZINE.

It's time to shed our baby love of cliches.

  • I get mad at my friends when they say clip.

  • I agree! Drives me nuts when people call magazines clips.

  • hahaha if i get the chance to come into your store ill remember that.

  • Well, is a tube on a pump shotgun, or Marlin .22 autos are they Magazines I have been calling tube fed magazines! or is it a hybrid Clip Magazine?

  • @isamtator They are just internal magazines, ie. not removable.

  • I share your annoyance. Thanks

  • Lol

  • Haha in BMT they lose their minds when kids say clip

  • I always annoy my friends when they say "clip" by just saying "magazine."

  • Barry we need a gripe video on the proper definition of Muzzle Brakes. Too many folks calling them breaks. (and the difference between a brake and a compensator)

.....I'll help you with the skit :)

    I need a break.

    What kind of break?

    Lunch Break?

    Coffee Break?

Smoke Break? You don't work here...What kind of break do you want ?

    LOL

  • no a magazine is the paperback reading material you see next to the toilet.

  • Agreed. This drives me nuts and I make sure to correct my students when I'm instructing. Whenever I can, I have an actual clip on-hand to show them that a clip is used to load a magazine.

  • Just a quick question, is a revolver speed loader classified as a clip or just a speed loader?

  • @MrDeadly25 some revolvers use clips (full moon clips, half moon clips). I reckon a speed loader is more of an ammo dispenser.

  • @DangerousDan762 That is the definition of a clip. A loading device that feeds into a magazine, and holds rounds in position to be fed into a magazine.

  • @NeoTranshuman awesome thanks ill check it out now...

  • @NeoTranshuman nar i dont, where can i get it from???

  • Blame it on video games...That's how the more recent generations have been corrupted into thinking you change out clips and not mags. I remember seeing it all the time, and when I was little I used to call them clips too. And don't even get me started on how the media words things...

  • Is also helpful on an instructional video to show the general development from clip to detachable box magazine. Feeding a stripper clip into a box magazine like on an AR. Inserting a N-block clip into a Garand (magazine integrated into the rifle). Words have a distinct meaning. Clip and magazine are not synonymous :)

  • do you have extra glock clips lol jk

  • @JBME GOD SAVE US ALL FROM BAD GRAMMAR.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 Do yall carry clips for a .25 automatic?

  • There's a special place in heaven for tolerant and patient gun shop owners.

But I don't think this special place is very full.

That's gotta be a tough job. I don't think I could do it.

  • FUK OFF YOUTUBE ADS...

  • Hell, I worked in Newnan, GA for 6 weeks earlier this year. Wish I would of known how close you guys were or I could of stopped by. Take it easy.

  • douchebags that use the term "clip" when they are talking about a magazine, irritate the hell out of me

  • ..they are MAGAZINES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • many years ago, I worked at a jewelery store, and people constantly asked if I could repair their claps ... not clasp ... claps ... I said "I'm not a Doctor!" LOL

  • how about a magclip?ha!

  • second clip is for a lee enfield

  • THANK YOU! A minor pet pieve handled well.

  • It's really quite simple:

You load rounds into a magazine

And you use a clip to load those rounds into a magazine...

Have fun with your many facepalms guys :P

  • Needs moar clipazines.

  • It annoys me so much when people call magazines clips, I seriously get an eye twitch when they do.

  • I was shooting today and my buddy always said, give me the clip. Needless to say, he didn't get it until he called it a magazine.

  • Hey people they want you to see the humor in it. I think it was funny as hell. still watch it and laugh. Berry is the greatest. SEND HIM A PAPPER CLIP SAYING THAT IT WONT FIT MY GUN.

  • Would a Pez be a clip or a magazine?

  • @Iraqveteran8888 Ask Barry, he would know what that is, he mentioned potato chip clips, so, Pez magazines!

  • @monkeyboy4746

PEZ would be a magazine as it fully encases the dispensed item and it does not clip anything!

Careful though, in california we cannot have PEZ over 10 candies or they may be illegal. 0.o!

  • @monkeyboy4746 An integral magazine of course!

  • @monkeyboy4746 A PEZ is a small candy originally developed as a mint, a PEZ dispenser is a magazine. A clip is a piece of stamped metal that feeds a collective of similar items (like PEZ or ammunition in most cases) into a magazine.

  • @monkeyboy4746 The Pez dispenser would be a magazine, the wrapper for the pez prior to loading it into the dispenser would be a rough equivalent to a clip.

  • @monkeyboy4746 I'm glad you exist :D

  • ITS NOT A CLIPAZINE, ITS A MAG

  • yall have any glock clips? just jokin.

i hate it when people say clips too, agrivates me, then i try to explain it and they aint listening.

  • during my combat training, if you called a magazine a "clip", then the whole platoon would do push-ups. that sure fixed the terminology problem lol

  • hahahahaha this is funny but yes eric and barry this is sooo true people are some what cunfyousd people need to get this right,I`m no exspert but I know what your feeling.Grat thing that you guys put this up to help people that dont know. And I do like the printout poster to help ppl fegyer out what thay need,I think evrey gun shop and eney wear thay sell guns shude have something like that to claerufiy that.In all grat worck guys.

  • Would be nice if you differentiated further by mentioning that the magazine is an enclosed ammunition feeding device while a clip is an open ammunition holding device that does not feed. I don't expect people to know the difference, especially with modern media screwing people up constantly by describing a 10/22 used in a crime as an "Evil black baby/cop killing high powered assault weapon ak47 with a 500 round assault clip." But when I correct you, you better stop calling it a clip.
