  • i will post to my channel shortly

  • I am doing the same thing noe except i have all yari ashigaru from oda clan on very hard in the rice filds with snow and bllod pack pluse first person vie with the katana hero maxed out

  • if you had blood dlc there would be blood everywhere

  • I love the little space of dead guys in the middle :D

  • The katana heroes out number the other guys. Thats why they won.

  • hey the katana heroes took some casualties...who the **** turned on friendly fire

  • two guys at 4:40 are kinda just standing there like "are we retreating?" "yeah i think so" " oh well lets watch are betfriends death real quick then we will go"

  • This is exactly like the movie 13 Assassins! Great movie by the way.

  • Thing i always like about shogun 2.

Your 30 guys defeat 1350 enemies: Costly victory!

Your 1000 elites defeat 600 peasants: Heroic Victory!

  • Comment removed

  • This is like 300 on steroids haha

  • the hit of the general(?) at 4:42 is amazing dry

  • Do it again with bloodpack ! Lol awesome

  • Reminds me of the movie "13 Assassins"

  • This woulda been more epic with blood

  • Nose ha jodido contra asigarus con yari yo tambien!! jajaja ademas he hecho esta batalla 1000 y esque para colmo te has cogido a los Shimazu!! a esos 30 heroes los he visto ganar a 600 samurais!!

  • that had to fuck up morale

  • we also have to put morale into account here. as you can see like 400 of them ran away, causing them to lose

  • 30 vs 1350? not even spartans can survive that

  • and this is why u bring archers and cav

  • @ANormalGuy a sword is more versitile then a spear, it can easely cut a spear in half.

  • @103035icle Well no... in this game spears are a little underpowered. in real life, spears is a much better warfare weapon in which everyone just lines up and jabs at people without breaking formation. Swordsmen whould have to fight though a wall of jabbing steel tips to get though to the enemy. in a duel of martial arts however, spears are worse.

  • @22Weijin

That is only good if you can funnel them into an area where the enemy will not see anything but spear as far as the eye can see.

    Like Thermopylae really.

As with Persians to Greeks, a spear formation can ironically be undone by one of the things it is believed to be best at countering: it can be killed by cavalry easily.

Still, spears are a very versatile weapon compared to a sword.

  • Kind of reminds me of the movie 13 assassins.

  • they did spread making themselfs very easy targets for backstabing.

  • @xys007 No backstabbing the battles were honorable which means 1v1 then another guy takes his place

  • aww i was sure the ashies would have won.... guess itll only happen in real life lol

  • ya well this is total war and here they fight one on one if this was real fight at least one yari ashi would have stabbed hero in the back while he was fighting some one else

  • why didn't the AI form spear wall and just swarm them? they could put each spear wall unit 12 man deep and surround the katano hero on all sides. The sword is not longer than the spear. it bugs me that the AI is so stupid

    good video anyways :)

  • This could have worked out in reality. Because the ashigaru knows that they will be killed if they go too close they would have backed up, preventing the katana heroes from being swarmed.

  • @Remtii LOL, with a fucking thousand of them? No way they are going to back up. You are dreaming lmfao. Real life not even 100 Yari Ashigaru would die. These guys wield SPEARS FFS. Surround and stab.

  • who won?? lol

  • @TheLegendaryAze Katana Heroes won. 4:52

  • Of course it'd seldom work.

Some peasants and Ashigaru were hunters and well practice with bows... and even the best swordsman can be killed by an arrow from a distance.

But the idea is still fun. I've heard of plenty of peasant revolts in Europe yielding similar results. A few dozen knights slaughtering thousands of peasants isn't unheard of there either.

  • bet me Europeans use Sword's and Shields while japs dont use shields ^^ a japanese friend of mine told me that "Offense is a great defense" kill your enemy in 1 strike

  • Japs know's to fight 1-1. they fight fair and square but sooner they will be outrun. if you guys want to watch a movie ike this and it is base na true stroy try to watch 13 asasssins["japanese"]

  • @ironblade91 And then fall of Samurai we see the Japanese do not fight so fair anymore after they got some gatling guns

  • @ironblade91 Brilliant film.

  • 30 units may have skill 1v1, but im sure 1350 units could overcome them, especially if they worked together at killing each enemy. Heck they could all just throw their spears like javelins at them and they would take heavy losses.

  • @TheRealNikkipower um try throwing a 10ft long spear...

  • @Mrcheese2142 challenge accepted!

  • @Mrcheese2142 I was being sarcastic.. But seriously it's impossible to defeat 1350 men with only 30 no matter how good they are.

  • Played Total War Once and FAILED the tutorial xD Want to get into it but to much for my puny brain. I like to watch things like this. Please do another! :D

  • やばい。面白そうこのゲーム。日本に無いの?

  • lol peasants would have no problem but the problem is that the way they fought was honourable so they didnt have 10 guys strike at once.. they took turns

  • @Mrcheese2142 even peasents have honor

  • Awesome. Gotta try this. XD

  • if u guys liked this you need to watch the movie 13 assassins....fucking amazing movie

  • Heh not 300 but 30 :P

  • NOBODY MESSES WITH THE SHIMAZU

  • It also helps that he upgraded them with a ton of experience, upgraded weapons and armor.

  • Close Victory, hah.

  • This is typical Total War Game elite setup. In Empire, a group of four elite regiments could take on almost endless streams of native Americans.

  • @HisCarlnessI

It's not even that. Mix a few bow or matchlock units in the Ashigaru stack and any Hero unit gets shot to pieces before long. Especially matchlocks, those don't evne care overly much about the high armor stats of these small elite units.

  • how do you get 30 Katana Hero

  • Who gives a fuck who was better trained or armed? It's an awesome video.

  • what the ....

  • That was one of the greatest battles i have ever seen.

  • how do you do first person view?

  • just imagine if got the blood pack

  • Tschak de Kürbis

  • Ach!!! SHAMEFRULL DISPRAYY!!!

  • That are troops train by Chuck Norris

  • so dead

  • whats your graphic card

  • it's just amazing how they created that huge hole in the Ashigaru ranks, and then slowly expanded it outward. Those Katana Heroes are just insane.

  • And now with blood DLC, that would be beautifull lol

  • Mission impossible

  • Nice Hack

  • on campaign i got an army 70% stacked defending a fortress against a 2 full stack army and ultimately destroyed them but it gave me a close victory...i just defeated a 2 full stacked shoudlve been a heroic victory..

  • How could they possibly win from that many?

  • @18Damianz because they are fully ranked and the yari ashigaru aren't

  • @18Damianz

30 samurai that are absolute elite fighters in incredibly heavy armor versus 1350 peasants that have been handed a weapon and told "fight".

Every one of the 30 can easily cut down dozens of the untrained dudes before even getting hit once.

Also there is the problem of not enough space to fight (not all of the 1350 can even reach the enemy, only a hundred, maybe even less, can fight them at any time).

  • @Orillion123456 Ashigaru are actually disciplined, trained professional soldiers. But not Samurai rank.

  • @Timedruido

Didn't know that. Their performance (and equipment) suggested otherwise.

Anyway, my comment was just intended to explain how, generally, few can beat many. Sorry that, due to a lack of specific knowledge about Ashigarus, it is not completely precise.

  • @Orillion123456 Well I read it in a Shogun 2 guide so I'm not an expert myself. Here's the link tiny(.)cc/kvqvk

  • @Orillion123456 even if they would be farmers and the other people would be heavily trained it does not mean anything, first of all there is the thing with the surround where you would not be able to defend from 8 people simultaneously that easily, but even supposing that they would be able to do this, this would most likely take to much power to actually manage and kill them off, if 900 people get to rest while you continue to work, you are going to be tired at the end, realistically speaking

  • @Orillion123456 I'm assuming you are talking just about the game, because in any real situation, 30 guys are not going to kill 1350 people in a single fight. Hand-to-hand combat is incredibly tiring, and fighting three people at the same time is not three times more difficult than fighting one person, but exponentially more difficult. If you're wearing enough armor to not have to worry about a guy with a sword wounding you, then you're wearing so much armor you're going to be tired really quick.

  • @ihmesekoilua You do have a point there, in fact, whenever I try shit like this in other games, the less numerous elite units get tired, surrounded, and killed, really, really, fast.

But that's probably because Real Warfare 2 (The game I tested this on) gives units a stamina bar that depletes when fightin/running.

Note: I tested it with 300 un-mounted French Knights vs. 5200 Moorish villagers.

  • @Orillion123456 some ashigaru were actually trained to fight and were known as "light foot" meaning light infantry

  • @Orillion123456 your saying it as if its a real battle..and clearly you do not know what ashigaru really means..yes they are peasants but only when they are tilling the land..but in the battlefield they are foot soldiers..they mainly fill up an army's frontline during medieval japan..lastly ashigaru means footsoldier so they do have training...if you look closely there is enough space for them to fight its just the game mechanics doesnt allow them to overcome them.

  • @Orillion123456 It's still unreal though.

  • @Orillion123456 ashigaru are trained for about am month actually, their just local militia

  • @Orillion123456 Try having 10 guys surrounding you with sticks in a street fight, you'll see what it's like..

  • @Orillion123456

They aren't peasants. Look it up. ^^

  • @Orillion123456 peasants told to create a wall of spears...... 30 samurai = dead pretty fast unless they run. the sheer weight of a such force charging would be more than enough to overwhelm them

there is also no terrain advantage to the samurai. this is a flat ground. they are not defending a wall or a gate not even a hill really they are also surrounded all sides. the samurai wouln't have time to do fancy pose after a kill because he would have spears in his eye sockets and testicles lol.

  • @AFGalwayz

what saved the samurai here was the few seconds of invulnerability after a kill to have a pose.

    still entertaining to watch tho.

  • @Orillion123456

Ashigaru were actually trained foot soldiers, not untrained men told to fight. 1350 of them would, in real life kill 30 samurai with callous ease.

  • @18Damianz Seen the Movie 300?

"When man and sword are as one, mastery is meaningless. The sword wields the man and makes him unbeatable a living legend"

Taken from the introduction of Katana Yuusha.

  • the dumbest soldier ever

  • @Pikkujb How can you do a battle without having to put a general to lead it???

  • @Omegaures you can click the general away but after that you can't add any troops

  • Comment removed

  • 4:27 looks like a christmas tree

  • wow!!!!!!!!

  • IMO this is a very impressive demonstration of what an unrealistic toy Shogun 2 Total War is.

  • @antred11 Then go back to playing flight sims if this is so unreal....

  • @kiryu2000 I actually enjoy the TW series, but Shogun 2 is just ... blergh.

  • @antred11 Look at Rome Total War, if you got just a few barbarian berserkers, they would be able to beat the shit out of over 1000 roman cohorts, same connection with this. Every game is unrealistic to some extent.

  • @kiryu2000 to some extent u r right but trained masters that have dedicated their lives to the arts can take down 20 or so guys before someone gets a lucky hit....

  • wtf is that even possible

  • @genia33ful it might be possible

  • Hey...17...My Lucky Number...

  • they died with honer

  • if this had blood it would flood...

  • SICK btw if they used their spear they would've maybe got a change....

  • lol and you still had more than half of your force left

  • 4:08 looks like a couple of people left huh

  • Notice how he killed 777 people. Also, lol@"Close victory"

  • no wonder he won, he ranked the heroes full, and none of the ashigaru, thats a bit of a bs fight

  • @NOWAYIAMGOINGTOJAIL well if you think about it, they had the same gold to spend, but realistically 30 would never win

  • how do you get 1st person view?

  • Ha! Fuck 300 Spartans! Now start a new legend! 30 Samurai. Oh, God... i guess how will win between Spartans and Samurai.

  • @BiancoAssassino

There are aready two such stories out there. One is called the Seven Samurai. The other is called the 47 Ronin. Take your pick.

  • wonder how many had to die before the first samurai died here....

  • SPARTAAAA!!

  • you know that even with full slot of ashigaru, the katana hero is still win..

  • lol epic horse 0:08

  • susceptible to being massed by units my ass lol

  • thats some sparta shit, except they actually win this time.

  • @KlineStife what you sayin' foo' battle of thermopalye (or whatever) in 300 was a victory, a tactical victory, every single spartan may have died (except the one who told the story in 300, for some reason he got to go home because of his missing eye and story telling skills, i coulda sworn that shit dont mean nothin' in sparta) but yeah because they held the line and bought enough time, greece gathered the power to fight persia.

  • @SenoirMeow Supplemented by Athenian maritime victory, the Greeks do have a lot of time.

  • @baabaaer

At last! A person on the internet who knows the real story of Thermopylae!

  • @nashertheatheist All thanks to the documentaries on Youtube. You're not being sarcastic right?

  • @baabaaer

Not at all. Most people don't even know there were more than 300 Spartans there, never mind that they were also joined by other Greeks. Or that the Athenian fleet prevented the Persians landing troops beyond the pass.

Still fewer realise that the Spartans were basically cunts, and that they forced their baggage slaves into the front line with just spears, no armour and little training in order to slow the Persians with their mass of corpses.

  • @nashertheatheist Hmm? Don't the slaves at least become skirmishers, pelting stones at the Persians? And enlighten me, did Sparta burn after the defeat at Thermopylae? As far as I remember, Athens did, but they flee before that. My knowledge on history is very, very sketchy.

  • @baabaaer

    (1)

I'm not entirely sure how complete the sources are regarding the equipment of the Helot slaves. I'll admit that my information there might not be wholly reliable. There were 900 of them (3 for each man in Leonidas' group). They could well have used missile weapons, although considering the remaining Greek professional troops (300 Spartans, 400 Thebans and 700 Thespians) were all hoplite heavy infantry, it seems unlikely there were too many such weapons to be found.

  • @baabaaer

    (2)

Sparta was spared in the end. The Athenians annihilated most of the Persian fleet at Salamis shortly after Thermopylae, and on land the Persians were soundly defeated at Plataea. The Persian army were also losing troops to disease. And to top it all off, parts of western Asia Minor were starting to revolt against Persian rule. So Xerxes decided enough was enough and retreated back to Asia Minor to cut his losses while he still could.

  • 1:44-1:55,first person

  • lol why dont they ust spin in circles with their swords out

  • @Demonlord789 Press the insert key.

  • It's my 30 catapult men beating two hundred after and epic battle in Medieval 2: Total War all over again! After over 2000 duking it out, and damn I love my Pope for that/

  • DAMN!!! they were immortal against that bad of ods?!?! with just one swipe they brought down about 3 guys!

  • And so Rurouni Kenshin began to make a name for himself...

  • And here I thought the Wolves of Mibu weren't around till the bakamatsu...

  • Can someone tell me what the purpose of Monks are? Katana/Bow Samurai have the same roles and are more cost effiicient than monks, but War Cry and faster reload/longer range is great in many situations.

  • 5 men have die to kill 10 stack of yari ashigaru... Shameful Display !

  • looks like ezio and the assassin's guild vs the guards

  • @ANsetsuBUtai yep and the people survived are the highly trained assassins and ezio

  • Wait in line... to DIE!!!

  • Dynasty warriors mass multiplayer edition.

  • reminds me of sparta: 300 vs 200,000

  • If I had to guess the rate and speed of their slaying, I'd say that the Heroes are going from one kill to the next in less than 10 seconds.

  • 30 heros vs 1350 ashigaru

    5 heroes died

    COSTLY VICTORY

  • @Luisin88 Close victory :D

  • anyone else notice that a couple of those ashigaru u its where white guys?

  • Shimazu Katana hero , that's the answer .

  • WE ARE SPARTAN!

  • THIS IS SPARTA !!!

  • reminds me of 13 assassins

  • Imagine a fucking army full of heroes.

    5 Bow Heroes

    5 Katana Heroes

    5 Naginata Heroes

    autowin

  • that was a very shramful dispray

  • Talk about hero's

  • Before I load the game it asks me something about graphics quality. If I pick 9, it'll crash in 2 hours... If I play 10 it'll freeze after 2 hours and I'll have to restart it. Anybody help me please

  • Shogun 2 is the real GOTY.

  • Japanese version of the Spartans 300. 30 will do.

  • Some men slay dragons.

    Some become one themselves.

  • Holy Crap that was epic ive never seen anything like that ever! major props to you!!

  • sending 5 lions is better than sending 1000 sheep

  • sun tzu : it is rule of war that when you have 10 times the enemy forces but if you have a shitload more than that you lose

  • at 2:30 i was like: wow. you've lost a guy

  • 13 Samurai dead....

    777 Ashigaru dead.

I agree with the statement that they were badly 'outnumbered'. They have to sacrifice approx 60 Ashigaru to just kill one of those swordsmen.

And still nearly losing half their squad members, these guys didn't break a sweat.

  • @GuilmonIX unranked ashigaru +2 atack vs max ranked katana hero +45 atack this is a joke this is not a intresting fight ...... Atack in wal formation will do the job....... learn to play real battles

  • @drpoison666 I was only stating the number of dead in this fight aswell as my opinion. You dont need to go hostile. -.-

  • If I saw a enemy unit kill 10 of our guys with 11 slashes, I would run... long ago....

  • Ooh yeh, do the Shogun battle victory dance! \o\ \o/ /o/

  • Dude, thats hilarious. Katana Heroes must be overpowered as hell.

How well do they do against normal samurai?

  • @Alexper12 they actually dont do so good, they are really awesome but vs 3 katanas they die unfortunatley :(

  • We brought 30 warriors, they brought 1350.

    They were badly outnumbered.
