I can't help but find it funny Simon would choose a name that means sweet for a lioness. She maybe gentle & patient with her cubs. But the Marsh females would prefer a different name. Anybody know the Swahili word for invader, homewrecker, or whore? Being as how they reacted towards her last season,(Anything but friendly) her name is probably an insult. Or how about her usual prey. What's the swahili word for killer or monster? They find those more agreeable.

Who needs a patheitcally written TV series when you have the real deal right here. Big Cat Diary is one of my all-time favorite shows! Nature documentires are the ultimate soap operas. The struggle and stress these animals have to survive is enthralling and heartbreaking. Love all of the presenters as well. :)

notch must have carried on his affair or gone back to tamu again recently... last year's mating obviously didnt work if her cubs are so young

@MrNaryal actually toto survived the parts they showed on the show (ie. the baboons and lions). he had to leave that one day coz of a thunderstorm and it was late - they werent allowed to stay out in the dark, so he couldnt have saved toto from whatever happened anyway...

@HenryDavidT if you watch big cat raw they say there are laws against it. they're not allowed. only gamekeepers are, but not if they face normal everyday situations like other predators coz it happens all the time, only if they are really ill or injured. so it's not just a moral rule

Leopards love living next to rivers cuz they are ambush hunters they grab deer and antelope while they are getting a drink .. very flourishing spots for stealth leopards

@polymomen Solo is a full grown male lion.This show was filmed in 2006,he can live 15-18 years..He probably would die 2021-2024.

@jordan10946 Once they film a particular cheetah or leopard until the cubs are independent they go to another cheetah or leopard,down that family chain.Just like the marsh pride they are now filming the ridge pride a group of females from the marsh pride.
