  • I much prefer V8s, but I like the way the v6 looks better where the pipes stick out under the bumper instead of with the cutouts for the pipes in the bumper. Looks a lot cleaner.

  • nice exhaust. i wonder why kids saying that 6 bangers cant beat gt's? go look at my video of my 6 banger beating a bmw 325i and they have around the same hp as a gt and i beat him by 3 car lenghts

  • i have a '00 stang as well. i put the h pipe conversion and the mac duals on it and i love the sound. its quiet at idle but opens up when u step on it. much better than stock sound.

  • come on guys, seriously gt's have 260 hp and v6 has about 190,now if you did some bpu you are not going to beat a stock gt, sorry, i have i v6 i kno that intake exhaust do not add 70+ hp, seriously they add like 10 together and tuner dosent do the rest, so i mean there is no reason to lie, and yes maybe some of the 99-04 6's can beat the older gt's but look at their hp

  • @mikodelick larger throttle body is a uslesss upgrade unless you increas your intake to match, otherwiseyoull still have the same amount of restriction, M.A.F sensor is another less the par upgrade...with a N/A V6.

  • Sounds good..a lot like mine. Im about to get some MACs for my 02 v6. I have K&N, Dual Exhaust and Diablo Predator, and can beat a lot of stock GTs. Im sure some lts will open it up pretty good.

  • what everyone doesnt get is people get the v6 if they cant afford a v8. not everyone can afford insurance and gas on a GT, who would honestly buy a v6 over a v8 unless they cant afford it.. people need to stop the bullshit on v6s we all know GTs are better

  • Ha i went by that slogan when i went from a 1998 v6(150hp) to a 1994 GT(5spd)(210hp) it felt like a huge change because the v6 was an auto and a single port ...then i test drove a 2001 v6 mustang(split port, 5spd 193hp)for shits and giggles and it was almost as fast as my GT. All and All i would say unless its a 1999+ GT the previous GT's are slow. get a 1994+ cobra...

  • cubic inches doesnt matter anymore its cubic dollars. and they made a prostock v6 that was a 4.5L that made 500hp n/a. also throw a turbo on anything it will go faster. mustangs are mustangs but 4cyclinder car blows you cant even make a TT out of them. also who the fuck told you a STI is like a cobra? you dumbass good luck with that. ive never seen a 12.20 stock STI and thats even with a turbo its with a heat pumpin non IC roots blower. 4 cyclinder is for fuel economy not power.

  • Lol, and if that 4.5 na v6 (which I find to be over stated), made 500 horsepower, then a bored out v8 mustang would still make more horsepower. Sti's with tuned cobb stage 2, can run in the higher 12 range (and are about 5k away from running very deep into the 11's). And the statement 4 cylinders is for fuel economy is just stupid, plenty of fast running 4 cylinders (and ftw the v6 stang was for fuel economy). O_o

  • oi yes a bored out v8 with make more power. theres no replacement for displacement. the bigger then engine, the more power you can make. so a 4.5L v6 will make more power then any 2.4L 4 cyclinder and under. and btw a pulley and tune in a cobra pputs it into 11s or you if you just throw a TT on it for 5k you now have low 10 car. and for a couple more 9 second. STI's have absolutely nothing on a cobra. neither does any v6 or I4. its just facts.

    (2002) and my dumb-ass friend was hating cuz of if,so a couple of months later he was so proud cuz he could bought the gt ,ok ,well mine was almost brand new and his was in a pretty bad shape ,with almost 200.000 miles for the same price of mine,(2000) the leather sits were all f**#d up ,but that mother-f***er still is proud of that piece of junk .

  • While there's nothing wrong with a v6 mustang, your model runs a high to mid 15 quarter mile. Other cars running similar times are making far less horsepower and torque, and the v8 models aren't that much more expensive that this time frame. And the Supra is an exception for its engine, and thus shouldn't be compared to other cars. O_o

  • I'm actually surpised a v8 would hold up that long. Its a fairly known fact, that most domestic products break down badly after 100k.

  • this is ford, not dodge. dodge gave domestics that reputation. the 4.6l 2vs used in the gts from 96-04 were extremely reliable 100k is less than halfway through its life, even if you have been a little abusive to it at times.

  • lol, this is hilarious. I'm bored, so I looked at the vid of my old car, and I see all this, lol. You must be an idiot or something. First off, forged INternals and a stronger bottom end are the same thing. Second, do you know how much that costs? Less than a GT. Third, twin turbos are rediculously expensive as well. Lastly, you've never been in a GT, have you? Yeah, they're not THAT fast, but it's a hell of a lot faster than your car. They're quicker than most cars you run into.

  • short headers are no better than stock. Long tubes arent needed until around the 250hp mark. The stocks flow just fine.

  • Your, def wrong there. you can listen to other idiots, but I've gone from stock to the bbk shorty headers. and you can tell the difference in power. so again yes shorty headers are far better then stock ones. better materials for the tubing way better airflow. and with an X-pipe and a catback exhaust system its awsome for hp/tq gains and sounds sweet. and then after that a built motor from a 3.8 up to a 4.3liter v6 then ur workin witha v6 mustang.

  • Short Tube Headers

    Short tube headers are nothing more than stock replacement with a larger diameter primary tube. This will increase flow volume, but will not change the resonating frequency. The only time Short tube headers should be used is when you have to maintain a car that is smog legal or you reach 300hp and don't want to put on Long tube headers. Some would rather stick with Short tubes because they say Long tube headers sound too aggressive for a daily driver. Some would disagree.

  • well I disagree, even though I'm saven for a gt now my plans have changed.. for a 2007 GT. but whats on my current v6 mustang is borla catback side exhaust and bbk short headers, CAI, polished rims and low profile tires, just this alone does a hell of alot for the v6 compared to plain stock I've raced a plain stock v6 there was no comparison
