People can call me a "Nazi lover" or "Nazi worshiper" all they want, but I like to call myself "One who is very interested in WWII axis (Mainly German/Nazi) weapons, artifacts, etc."
I hate the nazis for what they did poor poor Jews if you didn't know. Nazis are gone that's good the only thing I like are there guns everything else I hate fucking bastards. And no I'm not a Jew. If I was a nazi I would help all the Jews I could. Like I said bastards.
when my grandpa returned from ww2 he was part of the men who stormed hitlers hq he captured a luger and a swastika from hitlers hq. when he returned from the war he still had the luger and when my dad was born in 60 somthin my grandma took the ammo the original ammo from ww2 brought it to the police station to be demolished for the safety of her children we have the luger today but it probably isnt reliable
@SuperJumper94 ......my grandpa wouldnt lie, neither would my dad,we have two swastikas from the hq, also one officers helmet two wehermact and plenty medals AND my personal favorite a german luger with matching serial numbers. all german, also for american, b 17 flak pants ammo belt m 17 gas mask p47 thunderbolt bomb drop handle, we were suppose to have those ship binoculars but they were stolen from my grandpa on his return trip...my g-pa also had a german officers binoculars he took fromhim
I've collected and fired military firearms for 25 years, including the P08 Luger. Yes, grtorrest, there were "Nazi" guns....many of mine are stamped all over with the small eagle and swastika, including one very scarce G-41 rifle. The luger is great to view and handle because of the generally fine machine work but as a battle implement the tolerances are too close ...even a couple of grains of sand puts them out of commission.
My grandfather took a German po8 luger from an officer In ww2 Its a very nice sidearm for a 9mm but later in the war it was replaced with the Walther p38 due to the luger was too expensive
@theslayder, they also were replaced because they had a bad or no safety switch. they were a harm to those who carried them. my great-grand pa brought one back, and gave it to my grandma, but he didnt care what happened to it. so she sold it for a 357. magnum.
Very nice example you have there, shame about the stoppage after the first shot, are you using reloaded ammunition? If I owned such a weapon,I would never put reloaded ammunition through it,its not that I dont trust my reloading skills,I just would not do it out of principal,I just believe it would be "Below" the weapon !! ; ) .I'd only feed her on the best ammunition and clean her with the best lubes and materials,so she would last me my lifetime aswell as many more to come.
Used by german army not a "nazi gun", guns have no political ideology, people do. P-08 pistol was standard sidearm of the german army since before WW I, so you may also say is an "imperial gun"
yeah, but the way the lugers were made is what gives them the upper hand. Each one hand made which was a slow and expensive process that eventually led to the quicker to make p38.
Obviously you dont know much about ww2. I am a german ww2 reenactor and i can tell you that the main reason germans lost the war is 1) they ran out of fuel for the tanks and vehicles. 2) they designed too many different types of tanks instead of sticking with one idea. The sherman was a piece of crap. The only good thing was they could make more of them than the germans could. The luger was better. Do some research and read up on history of tanks and weapons.
im hating intolerant genocidal nazis not germans....and you kinda turned your comment against yourself for being sarcastic and calling me a dickhead...
This pistol was first made in 1898... when Hitler was not even 10 years old.
Nazi Germany didn't appear till 1933... 35 years later. You can't dismiss everything German as "vile" even if it was made long before (or even long after) the Nazis are/were running the country.
It is a HUGE mistake to think that fascism could only have taken hold in Germany... without eternal vigilance the same evil could take hold in my country or even yours!
@ClassicFIHD I found a very nice Finnish contract PO8 for $545.00 just 3 months ago. The owner thought it was a postwar police rebuild and I didn't want to disilusion him. So yes, affordable Lugers are out there if you're willing to wheel and deal a bit.
i have found that the best way to make sure your luger doesnt jam is to not load the entire magazine. Simply load it all the way, then take away a round. Always works with most German pistols.
Maybe the Luger's reputation for unreliability don't so much stem from their inherent design but how people are still shooting some models that are almost ONE HUNDRED YEARS OLD!
Even if they were only 50 years old, they'd just get worn out merely sitting in a gun case most of the time.
I know the Colt 1911 got a reputation for unreliability in the 1970's from how many pistols had been in continuous use since the 1940's and even the 1910's!
They are talking about their favorite weapons, not the best weapons.
I'd disagree with you anyways, colt .357 is higly inaccurate from even small distances. P08 in that case, is very accurate, but not so destructiful maybe.
I have both, the P08 and the Colt Trooper MKIII and agree. I love both guns, but its really amazing the P08 is an accurate as it is with none-adjustable front and rear fixed sites. Since I shoot both .38 and .357s in the Colt you have to decide which one you want to sight the gun in for.
no the first round fired but the second must have flicked up and got jammed . if you look at the video you will see the round that i cleared is still unfired
He might be firing some commercial American 9mm ammo, which is under-pressured compared with the German military ammo this gun was originally designed for. It will cycle better with standard European-spec 9mm (which is equivalent to +P or +P+ in America).
what caliber was that?

Lugers were the best pistols in ww2. This usually happens when you fire blanks or lightly packed rounds through them.
XBOXORANGEJUICE 2 years ago
yea if you like a 9mm the p08 holds 8 9mm in the mag
id rather have a 1911 with 7 45 rounds in the mag

yeah, but the way the lugers were made is what gives them the upper hand. Each one hand made which was a slow and expensive process that eventually led to the quicker to make p38.
XBOXORANGEJUICE 2 years ago
so just because somthing is slow and expensive to make it is better ?
thats y the germans lost the tank war
panzers were so complex they couldnt make very many of them
there were 4 shermans to every panzer in ww2

i aggree that the sherman was crap
but the complexity of the panzers is what caused their downfall
so more complex is not better
