There isnt a question. A car is safer than a bike. Even if you can stop accelerate and turn better than everything there are things you cant control. honestly, i dont think you're safer in a car or a bike. If a bike driver drove as safe as a safe car driver, the likelihood that you'll be hurt more is the low. That's just my thoughts. Like scqhoxkwy41 says, it all depends on the collision. In some cases, it may be GOOD that you fly off the bike.

I would way rather wipe out on a bike than a car. I had a tankslapper at 245kph and dropped it, slid 750ft and got up with a bad case of roadrash. no broken bones or anything else. In a car the sudden stop is what hurts, on a bike as long as you dont hit you slow.

@scwhockey41 it all depends on both vehicles and the rider. you can have a special bike suit with crazy tough skit pads and if you call you just basycally sled on those skid pads on the concret rather than roll 100 yards. with a car youre not gonna leave without some injury unless you have a roll cage. but on a bike it take skill to "correctly" crash. you see racers do it all the time. sure, its not as assuring as a car with a roll cage, but its just my 2 cents.

@breethwithme ive been in a car crash doing about 60, it sucked it rolled..i walked away with a couple bruises. I also ate shit on my KX250 5th gear pinned about 60...I still waked away but it fuckin blows so much worse dumping a bike going that fast, get way more bruises and road rash all over your body.

One on my Dirt bike doing about 95MPH and hit a tree(popped my left shoulder out of socket), one on my buddies CBR600F3 at 120MPH(was laid up for 3 months with road rash nothing serious) and then I hit a horse on a GSXR 650 at 60(also my buddies. Walked away without a scratch) If I had been in a car on any of those wrecks I don't think I would still be alive. Thankfully I never wrecked my precious R1 Lol!

@wagner03mustang Man that sucks! What year model was your R1? I'm 5'10" and weigh 190 and I miss my R1 so much! It was a great bike, and very comfortable. GSXRs feel too big and bulky to me, Hondas feel to small and fragile, but Yamaha and Kawasaki fit me really well, but everyone is different with different body builds.
@AdrenalineJunky17 my R1 was a 2001 model. i know what you mean about the kawasaki's fitting nicely.I 6' 170 and my buddies 05 636 was about the best ride ive ever felt. (for a sports bike,) I loved my Honda 919. if you ever get a chance, take one out for a ride. Their so much fun, low end power is so great, and the handle bars are like dirtbike handle bars. amazing bikes for wheelies :)

I think so , it's a stretched lowered zx-14 with a pipe a and a tune. It's is not quite as fast as a comparable 08 busa but yes I think I could stomp a mudhole in that bike.

@scwhockey41 it all depends on both vehicles and the rider. you can have a special bike suit with crazy tough skit pads and if you call you just basycally sled on those skid pads on the concret rather than roll 100 yards. with a car youre not gonna leave without some injury unless you have a roll cage. but on a bike it take skill to "correctly" crash. you see racers do it all the time. sure, its not as assuring as a car with a roll cage, but its just my 2 cents.

@breethwithme ive been in a car crash doing about 60, it sucked it rolled..i walked away with a couple bruises. I also ate shit on my KX250 5th gear pinned about 60...I still waked away but it fuckin blows so much worse dumping a bike going that fast, get way more bruises and road rash all over your body.

In a single-vehicle collision, like losing control and hitting a telephone pole, they're about even (dead either way). Also, what's your definition of "a car"? You're obviously safer in a Suburban than a Chevy Aveo, as long as you can afford to fuel the thing.
FWIW, I've seen people die from collisions at 60 km/h (36 mph). The car was unrecognizable.

If you are smart enough to wear the right gear(it's like a seatbelt in a car) then what happens is you lay the bike down, slide out of the way on your ass, and when you stop sliding you get up, move your bike out of the way and then call whoever you need to call. It's equal risk her or there. Crushed, ejected, road rash, etc. Even in a car you will most likely

One on my Dirt bike doing about 95MPH and hit a tree(popped my left shoulder out of socket), one on my buddies CBR600F3 at 120MPH(was laid up for 3 months with road rash nothing serious) and then I hit a horse on a GSXR 650 at 60(also my buddies. Walked away without a scratch) If I had been in a car on any of those wrecks I don't think I would still be alive. Thankfully I never wrecked my precious R1 Lol!

@wagner03mustang Man that sucks! What year model was your R1? I'm 5'10" and weigh 190 and I miss my R1 so much! It was a great bike, and very comfortable. GSXRs feel too big and bulky to me, Hondas feel to small and fragile, but Yamaha and Kawasaki fit me really well, but everyone is different with different body builds.

@AdrenalineJunky17 my R1 was a 2001 model. i know what you mean about the kawasaki's fitting nicely.I 6' 170 and my buddies 05 636 was about the best ride ive ever felt. (for a sports bike,) I loved my Honda 919. if you ever get a chance, take one out for a ride. Their so much fun, low end power is so great, and the handle bars are like dirtbike handle bars. amazing bikes for wheelies :)

Only thing I did aftermarket was a license plate fender eliminator kit and a Micron exhaust system. Everything else was stock. I miss it so much. It was a great bike!

I think so , it's a stretched lowered zx-14 with a pipe a and a tune. It's is not quite as fast as a comparable 08 busa but yes I think I could stomp a mudhole in that bike.
