to call George untalented is the most ridiculist thing i've heard. he may not have come close to writing as many songs as paul and john but those he did write (here comes the sun, something, while my guitar gently weeps and i me mine to name a few; as well as assisting ringo with octupus garden) are some of the most inspirational songs of the 20th century. he cannot be cast aside as an extra.

also i'll admit that Paul was the speedier guitarist, highlighted by his solo in Taxman (another song written by George) but Harrison took greater pride in note placement and melody, striving for the perfect tone and sound for each solo.

live shows at the time were never exactly wonderful- the Beatles were tired, nobody could ever hear them usually and they couldnt hear themselves so their musicianship suffered, so by the time they got to japan where quiet was finally enforced they sounded tired, depressed and awful of course; yet still performed amazingly well considering everything.
