when i was 13 i would get out of the shower and i knew if i brushed my hair forward and wrapped a towel on it it would do the same effect i dont know i guess its just depends on the person i mean a shirt ...ill stick to my towel ,i like ur videos and ive learned alot of new things..its just funny how i didnt need someone to show me this its just common thing to know if u flip ur hair forward wrap it in a towel it binds the curls better than just letting it air dry..
hey I tried this from your tutorial I know you did this tutorial like 3 years ago but I just found it .. I am part black so my hair is already curly but I wanted to get my curls a little more defined and this tutorial is AMAZING! I put mousse all thru my hair then plunk it in a long sleeved shirt and sleep with it overnight. I take it off in the morning put a little more mousse and a little hair spray and it looks amazing!!! Thank you for this tutorial
i'm gonna have to try this. i have super curly and frizzy hair and my curls never look good. i've tried wearing curly hair styles for about 7 years now and haven't really liked a single one. i hope this works out. but i like the idea... just hope my husband won't make too much fun of me for wearing a t-shirt on my head lol
anyhoos, your hair looks absolutely beautiful by the end! when you brought out the diffuser i cringed, but it worked so well! i have very similar hair to yours (but i get very frizzy hair at the hairline) so i can't wait to give it a go :) great vid :)
@Lacubanitamasbonita yes . like immediately following your shower. its works well instead of blow drying if you dont want a afro or towel drying due to the frizz that it can lead to
LOL that funny i practicaly do that everytime i get out of the shower but i just have naturally curly hair and yeah it does help keep it more formed but no bloe dryer for me that would scream a fro to me
I have a suggestion, if you want more of soft hair with defined curl; I think you will loose some of the volume, but have more curls....skip the moose and spray in volumizer,,, just use gel and generous amount of leave in conditioner. Any product with a bit a alchol will kill a pretty spiral curl. I like this techine with the shirt though and will use this when I go to bed to protect my hair thanks!

FYI.. this technique is called PLOPPING and not plunking. It was first described by Lorraine Massey who is the author of "Curly Girl" which is the CG bible for haircare. Otherwise its a great technique!!!
I have been doing this for around a mouth, its great. I actually do it with just a tiny bit of gel on wet undried hair straight from the shower. leave it for just 5-7 min, scrunch gently then leave my hair to dry naturally, when dried naturally scrunch again to break up curl then no touching. love it!! love the vid!
omg you look like raven symone its crazy but your so beautiful! you look so pretty at the very end (well you look good the whole way thru ^^) wow i wish i had ur luckkk lol love ya!
I did this and worked well enough, but it worked better for me when I put my products in when my hair was soaking wet and then immediately wrapping it in the t-shirt and leaving it over night. But my hair is really thick and very curly, if that makes a difference. So if anyone didn't get perfect results, they can mix things up a bit and do this a bit differently.
i tried this two days ago, it worked amazing no frizz what so ever, after you dry your hair use bed head after party. it made my hair soo sillky, shiny, and not frizzy. give it a try :] smells amazing too
You look so great with curly hair, it looks so much better then with the "scrunching with gel" technique lol! I cant wait till my hair grows longer so i can try this.
oh wow it looks really nice, and i love the volume, and you look fab :) i havent washed my hair yet tonight so maybe i'll try it out. hopefully it works out just as well as it does on you considering my hair isnt as curly and flips out because of my layers
I would give it a try with a curl activator and see what happens, you might want to sleep with it over night so your hair gets completely dry....good luck, let me know how it goes!
Love it. I will try it because my hair is about your hair length or a little longer and when my hair is wet it weighs down my curls making them look not curly and not straight but just blah. Yay new technique!
Im so glad that you liked this technique and made a video about it! I plunked overnight and the results were AH-mazing, in case u want to try that! I ended up not having to diffuse :)
i just wanna thank you for having different tips for embracing curls and waves because the ideal hair is straight but the fact is wavy/curly hair is way more fun
lol the only reason straight is ideal is because so little of us have nice curly/wavy hair...we should consider ourselves very luck to have natural curls!
I'm a little confused. I have probably the same curly/wavy hair. Couldn't you acheive the same results by just diffusing your hair? Please let me know cause I'm always looking for curly tips. Luv your vids btw! :)
I'm gonna show this to my freined with crazy curly hair-mine is more losse waves

You use a lot of products, do you really need that many? Like do you notice a difference if you don't use one particular product?
