@NintenDangerous For the ON part of the latch, the circuit that goes off to the door would divert power from the torch block unless the redstone went up on top of it. You're right about the OFF part though, I'm not sure why I did that. Could be a relic from a previous version of the circuit. Thanks for pointing that out!

On your RS NOR latch, you don't need redstone on top of the blocks.
