@VetoDaPanda it is, Jimi Hendrix was born "Johnny Allen Hendrix". Hendrix also died after drinking and taking too many sleeping pills. Threw up in his sleep and didnt wake up
@ihave2rocks Paul Rodgers. For what it's worth, I thought Brian Howe was also a really good singer, but still, Rodgers was, is, and always will be Bad Company.
jimmy hendricks, jim morrison, janice joplin, elvisd presly, john bonom, michael jackson, and many more. (sorry about the spelling) but i'm just saying this song is so right.

RIP Paul Kossoff and Jimi Hendrix.
@metalisback jimmy hendrix died from vommiting in his mouth being strapped in an ambulance sitting up right, causing his lungs to fill with puke ; horrid death. so i dont see how this sounds anything like its about hendrix
No Jimi was found in his bed. The autopsy showed that his only had red wine and sleeping pills in his system. But that's not the point. The point is the whole world will love you if you are at, if only for a moment, at the top as Jimi was. And he was gone in a flash. Hence Shooting star.

@TheAchyliam nah, Jimi wasn't a schoolboy anymore when the Beatles came out, actually Hendrix and the Beatles probably shared similar influences, but the gap of fame between Hendrix and the Beatles wasn't that far apart, Beatles made it big in '64, and Hendrix, fresh out of the military, started his verge of making it big around '66, this song isn't indirectly about Hendrix, it could be about anyone, it could be about you, that's the beauty of rock and roll, it's your crossword puzzle
@ApachenMe I doubt it because Hendrix would not have been a schoolboy when he heard "Love Me Do" (Hendrix was 20 in 1962). I don't know if it's about anyone specific, probably just inspired by a lot of talented rock musicians who couldn't handle fame and ended up dying young from drugs or alcohol.
This is a time-less song alway's sound's so fresh to me. I'm 54 and this song is a part of me. Really touches me about your Dad , I really can't explain how I made it through those times cause I lived hard in the day reaching for the star's. I pray that the good Lord will bless you all.
Nothing, but nothing on Earth can touch classic Bad Company IMHO. Great instrumentals, great vocals and great songs...can't do any better than that. It's a sure thing that no new band in more than 20 years has rocked me like these guys have been doing for nearly 40 years.
My Johnny (my 28 y/o husband of 11 yrs) died one night last September in his bed (hospital bed in our living room in hospice care) not with a bottle of whiskey by his head, but with a bottle of morphine for his pain. Many times however, he could have died in his bed with a bottle of vodka by his head. Had he not woken up jaundiced one day head to toe, that's exactly what would have happened because he did die three weeks later in hospice care leaving behind three beautiful little daughters...RIP
@threegirlpeaches its a hard thing my dad just died in september on the 21st and it was years after he stopped drinking hard liquor and im only 14 and i was only with him for 4 months its just you have to remember the good times cuz those 4 months were there best of my life
The first time I heard this song was driving up in southern Wyoming on a move from the East to my new home in the West. It was about 2am, I was driving up a mountain pass, and on came this amazing song. A moment I'll always remember as I was discovering the West for the very first time.
This little remembered song brings back many memories from it's time. I personally think it's one of Bad Companys' best if not their best single. Rock On !
my father loved this song an as long as i can remember i have always thought of him everytime it comes on...his favorite line was johnny died on night died in his bed bottle of whiskey sleepin tablets by his head, an he would always look at me an say thats how he was gunna go...one night after a rush concert he came home an i carried him insidean layed him down he was not breathin shortly after they pronounced him dead of an aclohol an methadone overdose im 23 he was 48... R.I.P. CWW ur missed.
@mslwiggins wow,Im currently on methadone, and instead of taking extra pills,Ive been drinking at least a 6er every night...Kinda spoke to me man......Thanks..may your father rest in peace.
@mslwiggins wow. You listen to these songs, man. they speak to everyone except those who are to full of themselves to listen to them... may your father rest in peace
@mslwiggins So sad.. im so sorry for your loss.. we sang this song to my brother at his funeral.. Although he was killed by a drunk driver on his bike at 45 he is MY SHOOTING STAR... today would of been his 53rd birthday...
@jayevan50 Im sorry for your loss man... Ive lost many relatives in my life, but i lost one of the people that cared for me more than anyone could... Not even my parents... I lost my grand mother to lung cancer and C.O.P.D.... I cant imagine what i would do if i lost my girlfriend... Im very sorry about your brother and i hope you will still remember him.
@mslwiggins When i sleep at night i have a dream of that same situation, the weird thing is that 4 generations of the fathers in my family have died that way. Im a bit worried that it is my fate also.that song hants me everytime i go to sleep at night.
I was able to see these guys in concert when I was like 10! They were amazing to me! And still to this day I remember some of the songs they played at that show :) !!!!
I have listen to this song for years and it is still one the simply best. It's an amazing song performed by an amazing band. What more can You ask for?...........
It's a song from the middle of the seventhies. Very nice indeed.
I've been listening to this music for all of my 21 years on this earth. I'm a musician and I've listened to and played it all, from heavy metal to rap to jazz, blues, electronica, country, you name it. But for some reason, I always come back to the classics, and my favorite band of the classics is the one and only Bad Company. It just doesn't get any better than this.
Great job on your video! Wanted you to know I posted it in my Facebook group called Songs of Strength. If you're a facebooker, love for you to join us for more like this!
im 11 years old. yeah,i like Bieber, and etc. but i LOVE this song! i have loved it since FOREVER. why cant we have music like this anymore? this is GREAT music. and i just love this song!
Im 12 and was listening to the classic vinyl station on sirius and then this song came on and i was just like this is amazing :) I am proud to say I know what REAL music sounds like
Excuse me, but I'm in my 30's, and I'm NOT a fucking Gaga or Bieber fan. People of all ages still know what music is. My 11 year old cousin knows how to play this tune on guitar. Keep scouring the earth for good music. Never stop. There's great stuff now, and from 40 years ago. If you dig Bad Company, go grab some Tom Petty, and Allman Brothers.
@Boomerkuwanga 31 (32 in July) and can't stand Gaga or Bieber....give me classics such as this, the Beatles, The Doors, Cream, Queen, etc....this is the music that will live forever...and yes, Tom Petty...love me some Tom Petty!

Rock On !

Boomerkuwanga 1 year ago
@Boomerkuwanga 31 (32 in July) and can't stand Gaga or Bieber....give me classics such as this, the Beatles, The Doors, Cream, Queen, etc....this is the music that will live forever...and yes, Tom Petty...love me some Tom Petty!
