@TheAlysmom I think the Queen pays for these things with her own money, the tax payers do have to pay for security such as police, but considering the amount of tourism these things bring in I'm sure it more than makes up for it.
Extra Ordinary!!!!! The Palace is soooooo Beautiful as the Queen itself! Long Live the Queen! God Save the Queen! - from the Beautiful Island of Philippines.
I am not British, but I cannot help admiring how the British people love and respect HM the Queen. She is a grand lady, and in my humble opinion is a fitting example of what a British sovereign should be. God save your gracious Queen, and may she reign for many years to come.
Its a well know fact and of very considerable concern that tampax Charles not only had several female encounters Tiggy Legge-Bourke etc but reportedly sex with several men too (Its certainly a well documented fact Mountbatten was bisexual) Charles valet immediately before his marriage was in fact gay and subsequently actually died of AIDS! Its consequently not surprising he finds the vulgar (like a man in cheap drag) somewhat masculine appearance of the repulsively vile Camilla whore appealing!
God bless our Queen and our country- bring on the Diamond Jubilee! 2012 will be great for us- Her Majestys diamond Jubilee and the Olympics- GOOD TIMES
Thanks for posting this. As an American, I was always a fan of Great Britain and the British. I want to live in England some day. The Britsih have endured much over many centuries, produced the very best rock groups, the originators of civility and good manners and continue to lead a contry rich in history.
Not just God Save the Queen, God save Great Britain!
The Queen's Golden Jubilee have done exactly what the politicians and the media cannot - unite the quiet majority of the country, giving us something to believe in and a sense of belonging. The harping from the vociferous minority who disagree is indicative of a small clique who will never be happy when the nation is united, as that doesn't serve their objective...
I beileve that 1950s and 60s must have been great years for the Queen because the problem now is that Elizabeth is the Queen in the world that clearly fails to understand "duty and sacrifice." This woman sacrificed motherhood for majesty and what did we gave her? Tabloids, cursing, People nowdays calls her oldie richie Queen! Maybe we will know her importance after she is gone!
yes we should! i must admit i was surprised that so many people turned on that day, i was shocked while watching it on tv but i'm glad that the monarchy is still popular, she is a rock of stability and i hope she'll be queen for a long time yet! long live the queen! greetings from edinburgh, scotland!
Of course Churchill should be thanked for the inspirational leadership he gave. But that you live out the millions of troops who fought against Nazi and Japanese tyranny is a bit worrying.
Are you fucking retarded? British forces never fought the Japanese. Also all wars have deaths. Britain defended Poland, and itself from Nazis. When defending yourself regardless of how your defending yourself (Verbal, Physical etc.) You gotta be willing to take a few blows.
"You have enemies? Good, that means you've stood up for something in your life."
Incorrect and quite offensive to the thousands of British soldiers who fought the Japanese. Britain's imperial interests in the Far East meant it inevitable the country sent troops there to try to protect British colonies from Japanese forces. The result was thousands of Britons killed or taken prisoner by the Japanese imperial authorities. Have you not seen the film, The Bridge on the River Kwai?
I'll watch that movie. I wasn't aware that British forces fought the Japanese. Since they had their hands full with the Nazis so much that they couldn't even cross over to France.
But, I live in America. So all I hear is "England (Correction Britain) fought the Nazis, and America fought the Japanese." They don't teach us this stuff in America. I read your youtube account. And if your in college, your more than likely correct about it.
My dad's from England, I sure as hell wouldn't offend them!
That's ok. I think there's probably many Britons who don't realise the extent of the British campaign in World War Two. In fact, the British campaign in the Far East is sometimes referred to as the 'Forgotten War'. Just a further point about that film, although it has achieved fairly iconic status in Britain, some were not too impressed with its plot for historical accuracy.
ok just to correct you .... my grandfather fought the Japanese as a British commando in Burma, and yes watch a film called "The Bridge on the River Kwai is a British 1957 World War II film by David Lean" It ll explain lots to you.
Okay just so you know, I already watched that film, I now know the British fought the Japanese. I love Britain and all that, but how the hell am I supposed to know they fought the Japanese if the Americans keep ranting on about them fighting the Japanese? Americans just talk about them fighting the Japanese. Never once was it mentioned that Britain fought the Japanese.
OI! I live in America! Not Britain! I wish I lived in Britain! But I don't! The teachers in America never say "British forces fought the Japanese" It's always Britain vs. the Nazis, and America vs. Japan.
The British fleet assisted the US fleet at Okinawa and even had 2 carriers hit by Japanese kamikazes. Thanks to the armored flight decks the British carriers suffered little damage. The British forces in 1945 attacked Japanese air bases close to Okinawa to cut down on Kamikazes attacks on the US fleet.
Several British warships were present in Tokyo Bay when Japan surrendered on September 2 1945.
Because the British monarchy still has 70-80% of approval in the population, nothing else is left to anti-monarchists than to attack the monarchy with vague and insulting conspiracy and reptiles theories. Not completely, besides, the authors of such "books" on account of the stupidity of many people still become rich. Illuminaten, reptiles, aliens all dizziness to whom only addicted to ace ones believe.
"Jailhouse Rock?" Did they actually play that for the jubilee? It seems really out of place to have a song set in an American prison for a British royal pageant. Who organized this thing? Did the queen have any input at all?
The Queen paid for the whole event...the idea is to celebrate the music from when the Queen ascended the throne. The Queen, I believe, had a great affinity in her youth for the popular music of the time. I think, perhaps, one is reading slightly too far into the choice of music!
saw this on television i must admit the fireowkrs could have been better thought out, there are some moment when they seem non existent, but it was a good occasion to celebrate. before i'm thumbed down for seeing it on televsion may i remind the 12 million londoners that the other 50 million britons do not live in London and it os not the centre of the world i did not waste my money to see when it was on tele anyway
fireworks are a little dissapointing for the Golden Jubilee, not sure why they chose American music to celebrate the British monarchs jubilee either. Victoria had hers on the Thames,a much bigger display more akin to the 2008 new years day display
The Golden Jubilee was massive - one of the biggest partites Britian has ever had. Where were you? America?
What a cynic you are. Let me remind you the Queen paid for the whole thing, including Harrods picnics for 20,000 people. and most nationalities were represented by music choices.
This was a happy time for most Brits, dont be such a buzz kill.
i come from a poor family that cannot afford off hand trips to London, i admire the Queen greatly and wish shell reign another 30 years and outlive old charles - its just that i expected so much more 0:58 for example, it just seems so - naff, yes great she paid for it all, but should she pay for her own jubilee? surely it should be a huge celebtration nationwide when the country spends a bit in affection of their great Queen, not tell her - 'coff up cos we wont', it could have been much better
I think the queen deliberatly paid for it her self so the anti-monarchists wouldnt have anything to moan about, dispite your disapointment at the fireworks all in all I'd have to say its still one the most extragant Parties the Uk has had. Imagine the costs of the picnics, and Im guessing the musicians did do it for free.
Lol apparantly...I remeber reading at the time (from the BBC website) that all those who were sa in the grouds got a free harrods picnic, which of course was rather preentiuos - some fancy chicken sandwhich amoungst other things.
